V2 Grader Summary

The agent achieved a successful resolution by guiding the customer into the router interface and enabling 2.4GHz band configuration for the Ring system. Despite technical inaccuracies and communication gaps, the agent demonstrated ownership, persistence, and partial adaptation to the customer’s needs. The chaotic troubleshooting path and incorrect information were mitigated by eventual success and appropriate follow-through on the core issue.

V1 Case Analysis

Customer could not access router UI due to certificate warnings and error 2298. Agent eventually accessed settings via iPad and changed Wi-Fi band to 2.4 GHz but did not verify Ring device connectivity. No model/serial/warranty details collected.

Troubleshooting Steps
  • Attempted login via 192.168.1.1 and myrouter.local on Chrome, Edge, and Safari.
  • Used recovery key to reset admin password and created new passwords.
  • Enabled 2.4 GHz band in router Wi-Fi settings.
Key Observations
  • Agent provided incorrect URL 'myrtatech.local' instead of myrouter.local.
  • Agent stated default admin password is 'a-b-m-i-n' (KB states it is on the router label or recovery key).
  • Agent misinterpreted error 2298 and gave inaccurate password complexity requirements.
  • No product model, serial number, or warranty information was collected.
  • Excessive looping through browsers and unclear instructions (e.g., iPad desktop mode guidance).
  • Agent did not verify that the Wi-Fi band change resolved the Ring connectivity issue.
Positive Highlights
  • Persisted through multiple browser attempts and eventually accessed the router UI.
  • Guided the customer to the Wi-Fi settings page and changed band configuration to 2.4 GHz.
Agent Errors / Gaps
  • Provided wrong web address 'myrtatech.local' instead of myrouter.local.
  • Stated the default admin password is 'a-b-m-i-n' without confirming against KB.
  • Gave inaccurate guidance on password complexity and error 2298 meaning.
  • Failed to collect essential device information (model, serial, warranty).
  • Did not verify that the Wi-Fi change resolved the Ring connectivity issue.
  • Suggested using a work laptop with an active VPN, which interfered with access.
  • Gave confusing and incorrect instructions for enabling desktop mode on iPad.

V2 Indicator Ratings

Resolution
R1 Met Issue actually resolved conf 95%
Customer successfully accessed the router interface (72:00: 'you're in') and was guided to Wi-Fi settings to adjust 2.4GHz/5GHz bands (73:00–79:00), resolving the core issue of configuring band settings for the Ring system.
R2 Partially Met Diagnostic thoroughness conf 85%
Agent attempted multiple access methods (Chrome, Edge, Safari), advised on recovery key and password reset, and eventually succeeded via iPad with desktop mode — showing persistence, though the path was disorganized and included incorrect URLs like 'myrtatech.local'.
R3 Met Correct resolution path conf 80%
Agent pursued best-effort troubleshooting for a non-technical customer using an ISP-provisioned device (True Speed), avoided dismissal, and achieved access to settings despite login obstacles — aligning with OOW/best-effort expectations even without warranty confirmation.
Technical Accuracy
T1 Partially Met Technically accurate info conf 88%
Agent identified symptom (can't access router) and attempted logical steps (different browsers, devices, recovery key), but failed to ask for model/firmware/ISP details that would have clarified the SPNM6x (myrouter.info) vs. standard (myrouter.local) distinction earlier.
T2 Partially Met Appropriate tools / resources used conf 82%
Agent used customer-side tools (browser, device switch) appropriately given no remote access, but provided incorrect URL 'myrtatech.local' (38:00) and did not leverage known ISP-provisioned model clues (True Speed → SPNM6x → myrouter.info) from the start.
T3 Partially Met No misinformation conf 90%
Agent correctly explained 2.4GHz vs. 5GHz use cases (74:00) and mesh-wide settings (76:00), but gave inaccurate info: error 2298 is not 'bad gateway', password rules about no repeated characters are unsupported, and 'myrtatech.local' is invalid.
Communication
C1 Partially Met Clear & professional language conf 80%
Agent maintained engagement and eventually succeeded, but had long silences, confusing interjections ('I have a sample text'), and unclear instructions (e.g., 'double A's'), indicating lapses in call control.
C2 Partially Met Confirmed understanding conf 85%
Agent adapted by switching to iPad and simplifying steps, but used unclear terms ('double A's', 'content settings') and failed to confirm understanding when customer struggled, despite customer self-identifying as non-technical.
Customer Ownership
O1 Met Ownership & empathy conf 88%
Agent stayed on the call, did not transfer, attempted to send follow-up email (52:00), and saw the interaction through to UI access and configuration guidance — demonstrating ownership despite technical hiccups.
O2 Partially Met Proactive follow-through conf 75%
Agent promised an email with a link (52:00) but did not confirm it was sent or provide a timeline; however, the core issue was resolved in-call, reducing the impact of this gap.
O3 Not Applicable Closure confirmation conf 100%
No prior case history was referenced or observable; this appears to be the first contact for this issue.
Escalation Judgment
E1 Not Applicable Correct escalation decision conf 100%
No escalation was performed and none was warranted — the issue was resolvable at L1 with proper access and configuration.
E2 Not Applicable Escalation prep & handoff conf 100%
No escalation occurred, so execution cannot be assessed.
Customer Experience
X1 Partially Met Customer effort minimised conf 80%
Agent said 'I know it's okay' (29:00) and 'I'm so sorry sir' (67:00), showing basic empathy, but did not explicitly acknowledge repeated failures or frustration, which were evident in customer's tone and effort.
X2 Partially Met Tone & rapport conf 82%
Agent adjusted by switching to iPad and simplifying steps, but maintained a confusing script (e.g., 'double A's') and did not fully adapt to customer’s pace or comprehension level during repeated login failures.
X3 Partially Met Overall experience conf 85%
Agent reduced effort by guiding to a working device (iPad), but caused unnecessary repetition (multiple password attempts, browser switches) and introduced friction with incorrect URLs and unclear instructions.

it's like it looks like it will have to have a chat with Sam I I I agree with you but I'm not sure why that's and um yeah but I I suppose the issue they got is And I also don't really understand why you're joining over here and you don't have to join here, because we're never ever going to use the fucking drainage system. It's just not going to get used. So but when she came back, she said it's something to do with the sport. And which do yes, but so it is but what what I suspect they're saying is you can have. You can't have a join there. No. Because there's not enough support, right? You could have a support here. I'm sure you must have a support here. But it might be yeah, but that is only one. So the lid, you see what I mean here, they've got two release here. That's what she was saying. Yeah. So, so your your join would be here because it would be simple and easy to support the boat. I don't think that either speak to Sam. Yeah, so you're on work. They're not on. Uh, So yeah. I'm still value his movement. Well, so that looks ridiculous. This ain't good. Yes all good. So, um, I have booked Tom back by when I give him a key to Ryan. There's hence he's going to start on Wednesday day before we go on the bonus. put this problem natural. yeah. thank you, everyone. we'll have to look later to see where the match will go. yeah. eating. I actually got in first time last time. Thanks. Do you want me to give your phone to you and I'll see if I can call them on your phone? Because sometimes it does work better. It sometimes works better. Oh, hi. Yeah. I'm, I'm calling because I'm trying to sort out a problem that I've got with our Linksys system. Um, it's the connectivity. Basically with, with certain devices. One of the main issues I I seem to be having.
09:00
Speaker 2
Hi, thank you for calling Linksys technical support. My name is Ellie. How can I help you today?
22:00
Speaker 1
despite the fact I've got six nodes, lynx's nodes dotted around our house, which should be more than enough to give really good coverage. One, I've got like a ring security system. And it's literally only about a meter away from one of the nodes, um, separated by windows because there's obviously an outside system. Um, but the connectivity is really poor. And I'm wondering whether that's because maybe the setting that I have on the lynx system is not set up properly. And maybe I should use um, 2.4 gigahertz as opposed to whatever the setting is at the moment. Someone suggested that. So, so I'm trying to sort that out. I tried doing it myself with the with your bots um, system, but it's I'm just not not good enough I suppose. I'm not very technically minded. So, I'm wondering if you can help me.
23:00
Speaker 2
Mhm. Uh-huh, yeah of course. So, um, when you tried doing it, um, earlier, what did you use? Did you use the webrowser interface or.
23:00
Speaker 1
OK. No problem. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. OK, so what, but I've got, uh, I've got Chrome or I've got Microsoft Edge, which is the, which would you suggest is best? OK. OK. Mhm.
24:00
Speaker 2
Just the link six up itself. Okay. Um, how about we let's go ahead and access your router settings using the web browser because it's actually much more convenient. So if you do have and yeah, thank you so much. And by the way, I'm speaking with Mr. Chris Lawson. Okay. So, um, sir, Chris, if you can, um, if you do have an available iPad or a laptop, um, let's go ahead and grab it. And let's do, um, and let's pull up your browser. Uh, well, we can try both of them. So let's, um, how about we let's start with the, uh, your Google Chrome. Okay. So open a browser and then on the URL bar.
24:00
Speaker 1
[silence] Okay, it's saying it's blocking because why am I getting a warning? Do you want me to continue anyway? Yeah. Okay, so it's now going through. Uh it's just waiting for a page to be open and it's asking for the router password. No I don't. Should we reset?
25:00
Speaker 2
hello. I have a sample text. timer. Do you want to play fast? when it is like that really fast so that is (en miniature and mix together)[silence] do you remember customizing the router password or no thanks
25:00
Speaker 1
Okay. I'm afraid that didn't work. I am just going to try a PASSWORD then it might be. Uh if you just bear with me one second. [silence] No, I'm afraid that that hasn't worked. It's it's still asking me to sign in. It's obviously not accepting um that.
26:00
Speaker 2
How about we try using the word admin? That's a-b-m-i-n all lower case. yeah yeah sure [silence] okay so now let's uh try
26:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. So it's saying enter recovery key, which is found at the bottom of one of my notes. Like is that what I need to type in? just so you understand I've got a rooter that is supplied from True speed, which is the company that we access our broadband service from. And that, that the the sort of, shall we say master vellup um is, the first node is connected or plugged directly into that um into that rooter. So, presumably, you need it's the, it's that that vellup that is plugged into the rooter. Is that the one that you need me to do?
27:00
Speaker 2
yes you're absolutely right and then the recovery key that we need should come from the main router or the master router yeah
27:00
Speaker 1
Okay go stay with me. okay stay with me sorry bye with me
28:00
Speaker 2
Yes, that's the router that we need to access, which is so you need to use its recovery key.
28:00
Speaker 1
I'm sorry about that. I couldn't um quite get the the reading but I've got it now so. Okay so uh now it's asking me to create a new admin password and hint.
29:00
Speaker 2
I know it's okay. Okay, so on creating a new admin password, just a quick heads up. Chris
29:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. So it's, so it's each word or character needs, sorry, each letter or character needs to be different. Yeah, no problem. Okay. And is there a minimum number that it needs to be? fine. okay. It says, we've an an unexpected error 2298. We've encountered an unexpected error. If these issues continue, please visit our technical support site. [silence]
30:00
Speaker 2
No, you can use um, as many characters as you want.
30:00
Speaker 1
Is that like the refresh range sort of... Yeah, no problem. Okay, so it's it's now in the sign in UM. Do you want me to press reset password again?
31:00
Speaker 2
2298 uh, give me one second okay, so, since your are, um, can you try to reload the page please Chris? Yeah. Yes, please.
31:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so it's asking me to create, another password, so, which I will, I will do now. Um, [silence] still coming out with an unexpected error 2 2 9 8. sure no problem let me come out of that um let's try Microsoft Edge
32:00
Speaker 2
Okay. So since we encounter this error on the Google browser, can we try a different browser, sir?
33:00
Speaker 1
okay, um, seems to be a advertisement. So it's, it's saying, um, I think I'm in the wrong site here, cause it's saying, what is, uh, my IP.com? Um, let me do that one more time. So it's one, nine,
34:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Did you put the URL on the top most search bar, sir? Yeah.
34:00
Speaker 1
168.1.1. perfect nice uh okay so click details uh sorry where's details i'm I'm always sorry I don't know anything about technology. So where do I find details? Uh it's I've got um at the top it's um like the URL like. And then um I I don't know where to click ip uh is it three dots? Perhaps um Is that where details is? Um [silence]
35:00
Speaker 2
Two. Yes sir, click on details. I'm not familiar. What shows on your screen right now? Uh-huh.
35:00
Speaker 1
[silence] Yeah. It's it's saying blocking at the moment and so when I read the site, um it's saying, how can I bypass this warning? Um and it says, when you continue, your browser will show you the warning message. Follow these instructions for your browser. Um oh I see. So if I click on continue, um it says your connection isn't private. Um do you want me to click advanced or refresh or what, what it's asking me? In fact, it's giving the option of advance. Okay. Um it says, you can't visit 192.168.1.1 right now.
36:00
Speaker 2
There should be an option for you to click on continue or might be a show details or continue to this website? Those options should show up. Uh-huh. yeah wait yeah uh just uh just click an advance.
36:00
Speaker 1
Because the website sent scrambled credential credentials that Microsoft Edge can't process. So I guess that's why it's asking me to do this details thing but but I I don't know how to access details. No, I I'm sorry. I don't know where details is. It's it's not obvious to me where the button is for details. Where? No, it's it's I do you know where I cause it's it seems like it would be obvious but it's there's there it doesn't give me the option to click on details. So is there no where I can find details in like the web browser or is it is it does it not work like that? I don't.
37:00
Speaker 2
[KEEP_UNCERTAIN] Yeah click on details. Oh, okay. Mm-hmm. Oh, okay. So there's like there's no option for you to click on something. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh yeah it doesn't actually work like that sir, but what are the um options that it was that is um provided here?
37:00
Speaker 1
Well, it's basically either hide advance or refresh. Yeah. okay okay yeah, go for it yeah yeah my router is it local linksys or just dot local? [silence]
38:00
Speaker 2
oh, okay. So those are the only options that you have. um, okay. Um, uh, so can we go back to your Google browser and, um, let's try using some other link instead of, uh, one nine two. Since Microsoft Edge is not working. So Yeah. So on the URL bar, type in this link that's H-T-T-P://myrtatech.local.
38:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. And enter that. Okay. It's saying why am I getting what links is why am I getting a warning. So let me scroll down. And it's how can I bypass this warning? Presumably you just want me to click on continue. It's saying your connection is not private. And it's is saying go back to safety or do you want me to click on advanced? It says the server could not prove that it is my router dot local. Your security certificate is not trusted by your computer's operating system.
39:00
Speaker 2
not local. L O C A L. Yeah. Yes, right. Click on continue. Uh-huh. Click on advance.
39:00
Speaker 1
This may be caused by a misconfiguration or attacker intercepting your connection. Okay. It says proceed to my router. Dot local unsafe to presumably, you'd like me to do that. Okay. So it's now asking me to sign in. put in a password or reset. Okay, reset password. Okay. So it's asking me to put in the enter the recovery key, so presumably, you want me to do that again. Okay. Silence]
40:00
Speaker 2
Yes sir. Quick and proceed. Uh huh. So it's the same thing like it's asking you to um put in the router. Yeah the router. Yeah let's use the reset sir. Rick, yes sir.
40:00
Speaker 1
Okay, she's a password hint legends. Remember, make yourself a hint. Outreminds you of a password that you should forget. So it's asking me to put in a password. Presumably you'd like me to put in a password, yes. [silence] Sorry. It's still coming up with the expected error 2298. Do we know what that error is?
41:00
Speaker 2
Yes, sir. Okay, so can we pull up?
41:00
Speaker 1
I I
42:00
Speaker 2
Ah, yeah, that error message just actually indicates that, um, um, my gateway error or the configuration is actually, um, it's actually indicates like, um, uh, bad gateway. So let's try another, um, let's try some other link. Uh, let me just pull up that one, just give me one moment. [silence]
42:00
Speaker 1
and I'm wondering whether because it's a work laptop and I'm wondering whether my the security guys have put something in there to you would it would it be better if I used an I pad do I have a what uh yes I think so okay I'll I'll just grab that just bear with me well yeah
43:00
Speaker 2
Um, just to make sure, do you have an active VPN on this laptop? Do you have an active VPN? Oh, okay, I see. So that might get naturally interfering with whatever you want to do. Like, um causing the error. So yeah, how about we proceed on using your iPad instead. Yeah, sure.
43:00
Speaker 1
[silence] So, so do - So do you [silence] do we need to check to see if I've got a VPN on this iPad? How would I know that? An I recently old. Yeah, I've just gone into the settings and it says um, VPN, but it says not connected. So, does that mean it? It's we're good. Okay, perfect. Okay. So, um, so let me just go into Safari and so presumably you want to type in the URL again 192 2 .
44:00
Speaker 2
one moment, what iPad is this one? one moment, sir. yeah, we're good. yeah. yeah, let's try the 192. I'm sorry, but first things first we need to make sure that this it
45:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Uh, so what, what, yeah, what, what do you want me to type in, man? Eight, TTP. Yeah. Yeah.
47:00
Speaker 2
your iPad is connected to your Linux-based router's network and then instead of the 192 let's use the other way so yeah so that would be https colon forward slash forward slash myrouter.local so that should be http colon forward slash forward slash
47:00
Speaker 1
Sorry, just bear with me. [silence] MyRouter, all one word, yeah? .local. Okay, so I'm back into the thing. Why am I getting a warning when I try and access my router's
48:00
Speaker 2
that's okay. take your time. yeah. all one word. yeah. [silence]
48:00
Speaker 1
settings. I can bypass this warning by clicking on continue. Would you like me? Uh the connection is not private. This website may even push. Personally, you should go back to previous page. It says, go back. Do you want me to go back? Presumably not. It, I'm afraid not. It says show details. Safari wants to show the details. Are you certain? website's certificate is not valid. This may happen if the website is configured or an attacker has compromised your connection. So allow more, you can view the certificate. If you understand the risk, this website. So click on visit this website. Yes. Okay. Okay, so I'm now in the signing page.
49:00
Speaker 2
Yeah. Continue. Yeah. Click on continue. Mm-hmm. Um, I- there should be an option to click on proceed or advance. Yeah, that one. That one's her. Show details. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Visit this website. I
49:00
Speaker 1
to access velo, and it's... and then I need to put in the key again, yeah. [silence] Okay. And now it's asking me to create a new password. Because it says, "use a strong password, stay with fill. Or should I just put in my own that I can remember easily?"
50:00
Speaker 2
asking for a root oh password now let's choose directly the reset option yes so so input again the recovery key information.
50:00
Speaker 1
[DOWNWEIGHT] Yeah, and and so and and again, just as long as I don't repeat any letters or symbols. But it can be as short as I want it. So if it's only five letters long, uh it's only five characters long, is that's okay. [silence] than ten. Uh, okay, but none of those characters can be the same. I can't repeat them. I can't [silence].
51:00
Speaker 2
[silence] Yes, yes, um, I'm sorry, it will actually, um, tells you to grade at least more than 10 characters, yes. Yes. [silence]
51:00
Speaker 1
Sorry, but I'm still getting the unexpected error, 2298. Okay. Uh, do you want me to continue on using my iPad or do you want me to use the? [silence]
52:00
Speaker 2
Okay, I see. So, sir, I'll be sending you an email with some link that you can try to access using your web browser. So just easily copy this link and paste it on your web browser. But while I am crafting this email, sir, can you -- what browser are you using right now? You're using Safari? Yeah, yeah, sir.
52:00
Speaker 1
So, use the iPad yeah? Yeah. Okay. So, the iPad is using Safari. Uh, I'm not that I'm aware of. Um, I, I guess I, what do I need to download that from the app store? Huh. Okay. So, um, so if I just type in Google, browser. Yeah.
53:00
Speaker 2
[silence] yeah, use the iPad because your work laptop actually has an active VPN. So uh that can actually cause a problem. So let's stick to the iPad. Okay. So do you have Google browser on that iPad? Yes, sir. Uh you can you can download it from the App store and let's try using it. Yes, sir.
53:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so I'm just opening that, uh, it's asking me to sign or don't sign and presumably just Don't sign in, no? Okay. The Okay. So, so that that is now in. Okay. So HTTP colon forward slash slash my router dot local. [silence] Not local links is just dot local. Yeah. Okay. So uh, it's I don't know what maybe I've done something wrong again. I'm sorry, but so frustrating. I wish you could see what I'm seeing, but it's saying, hd in your web browser. So is that have I did it in the wrong place? Um, [silence] Oh, okay. [silence] Bear with me. I've probably put it down.
54:00
Speaker 2
jobs at google.com yeah yeah it's ok uh did you put it on the upper most um search bar yes there are two search bar in the google browser at the center and at the very top
56:00
Speaker 1
I'm, I'm, I'm clearly doing something wrong, but it's, right. We're in. Okay. So click on. Continue and then it's asking me for advanced. Click on advanced because the connection is not private. So presumably and it says proceed to my router. Okay. We've done that. I'm now back at the screen where it's My router dot local. Correct. Yeah. Yes please.
57:00
Speaker 2
it's I uh, I, so, uh, I, uh, huh, I, uh, yes, I, uh, I, uh, yeah. And it's asking for a route to a password. Okay. Um, how about with this one, I, uh, can you take a picture of the password that is underneath the router? Can you try using it?
57:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so I did. I'm just typing that in now. Let me show you. I thought it'd work then, but it hasn't. It's now, I've just, it's just says log in with your router password.
59:00
Speaker 2
Yeah, so uh, use that router password that you just um took a picture earlier yeah, Thank you so much.
59:00
Speaker 1
Let me try that one more time. [silence] No. Sorry. It's it's still ending up back in the sign-in logging with your rooter password.
60:00
Speaker 2
I mean, it's, uh, yeah, sir. please. Okay, so, uh, yeah.
60:00
Speaker 1
do you want me to put in it's now I'm creating a new admin password do you want me to put in the one that's on the bottom of the the Lynx's node or you what you you want me to do
61:00
Speaker 2
How about we try resetting it again? Just create a new one.
61:00
Speaker 1
it's it's so difficult i don't know what to use now because i i just don't know i don't know how to i'm running out of passwords here every single one i'm using doesn't seem to work so and and it and it's your and i and i'm not allowed to use the same letter more than once no Oh, I'm so sorry, but... it's an unexpected error code 2298. [silence] [silence] Settings, yeah. [silence] All right. I can type in the search bar. So what did you say that? Site view or something? [silence] Site.
62:00
Speaker 2
okay um how about this one so can we try um changing the mode of your laptop uh i mean your ipad let's put it on a a dashboard mode so can do can you see some options there sir that says um more or settings yeah so tap on settings and then look for content settings or site view yeah content settings and once you're there you're gonna look for request desktop website yeah tap on it it should switch to desktop view if you see it was working
63:00
Speaker 1
[KEEP_UNCERTAIN] content settings uh for content settings, it says the only thing when I type in the search bar for content settings, it says erase all content and settings. I'm in settings. Um, what I'm saying is I can't, you're asking me now, when I'm in settings to go into content settings, aren't you? There isn't an option for me to go into content settings.
64:00
Speaker 2
[silence] uh huh what about start of video google oh it's a clever click on settings [silence] uh huh [silence] ah yeah yes sir okay let me just double check
64:00
Speaker 1
I'm sorry. Two two letters. Two letters. A what in where abouts one of my looking. Sorry. So you just want me to click in the browser. Yeah. So you just want me to open up the browser. Yeah.
66:00
Speaker 2
so, so, so, sir, if you are still on the, um, web browser or on the, uh, Google Chrome, there should be a, the two letter A's that, um, beside each other? Yeah, two letter A's. Um, on the browser. On your Google browser, the, yeah. Open the browser, and then on the URL bar, There should be a two letter A's that, um, beside, it's maybe on the left side or on the right side from the search bar.
66:00
Speaker 1
I can't. I'm sorry. I'm probably being really thick, but I all I've got is I've got - I read out exactly what I mean. Can we facetime each other? Are we able to facetime so you can see what I'm looking at? So I'm I'm in the Google URL and there's there's there's no double A next to it. I can see. Maybe I'm being a bit thick, but I can see three dots at the top, yes.
67:00
Speaker 2
I'm so sorry sir that but that's actually not possible for us to do but uh just give me one moment sir uh can I uh I'm sorry um sorry okay uh instead of the double ah can you see uh three dots on the upper okay click on the three dots on the upper right and then um scroll down and then there should be an option for you to click on desktop mode
67:00
Speaker 1
No, but I have find, I can't find that, but I found, in this, I've got content settings, I found that, so, so I've got that, yeah, up. Yeah, yeah, it says block, block pop-ups, um, it's got default apps, it's got show link and previews, it's default site view, detect addresses, web inspect.
68:00
Speaker 2
uh yeah yeah can you try clicking and okay? so uh after you click on content settings so what are the options that it provided you?
68:00
Speaker 1
reading mode. I do. Um, and it says default site and it says mobile and so you want me to click desktop? Yes? Okay, and then click done. Okay, that's I've done that. Okay, um, it's it giving me the usual warning, so I'm clicking on continue. And it's [silence]
69:00
Speaker 2
Do you have the option to click on default site view? Okay. Yes, sir. Click on desktop? Yeah. Okay. Now, let's go back to the same website, the HTTP://.
69:00
Speaker 1
taking me through to the access VeloP, and it's asking for the router password or reset password. So, what would you like me to do? No, okay. So, it's now asked me to enter the recovery key, again, for the, presumably for the for the mode. So let me just type that in again. So, that is F, I, N, V, E. Yeah, no problem. Okay. So, I have my password. Yes.
70:00
Speaker 2
Uh-huh, [silence] [silence] yeah. Let's ah let's proceed on re- resetting the router password. Cause it's not accepting the two, either the admin or the default router password. Mhm. It's okay. So let's just use the same ah after you put the recovery key. Let's just use the same ah the one that I showed you earlier. [silence] You know, decrease law at one. Uh 23. So there should be an uppercase
70:00
Speaker 1
Okay.
71:00
Speaker 2
Okay, that's actually a good thing. So you're in. And can you confirm if you can now see the links in Linksys Smart Wi-Fi tool? [silence]
71:00
Speaker 1
um, so yeah, right, this is what can see it. yeah. I've got it. yeah. it's just waiting and now it's yeah, it's, I've it's it's yeah, it's done that.
72:00
Speaker 2
Okay, that's perfect. So we're in. Now, um, sir, can you scroll down for me at the very bottom? Where you can see the end user license agreement. That's actually kind of small letters at the very bottom. Okay. Can you see, um, can you see at the very last option from the from the end user license agreement, if you can see the letter C A, they're, uh, those are okay. Can you tap on C A? Say that page will load up after you click on C.A. Okay. Now, on the left side.
72:00
Speaker 1
So where, where I want in the in the, uh, smart wifi tools, I got it. Yeah, no, router settings, wifi settings. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. And so if, am I right in saying it, if I use the 2.4, that should give me greater, it should, should allow greater distance between devices and the router, yeah.
73:00
Speaker 2
tap on Wi-Fi settings. Yeah under Linksys Smart Wi-Fi. Yeah. Yeah. So after you tap it it will show you all the three bands that you have 2.4, 5 gigahertz one and 5 gigahertz two. Now since you only need the 2.4 gigahertz but if you want to customize the other two 5 gigahertz then you can do it as well. So yeah this is the page where you can separate the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz bands vanser.
73:00
Speaker 1
Yeah.
74:00
Speaker 2
Yeah, sir, cuz the 2.4GHz band can absolutely cover a much more wider area than the 5.5GHz band. And also, sir, just a little tip, since you're working about your Ring security system. Um can you also tap them later? Ask if your Ring security system is also carrying an updated firmware, cuz sometimes the firmware can really cause a problem, especially with the connection. Um there should, that should be under the settings of your Ring security system. Um I believe it's actually um wall-mounted uh monitor. So you can just easily uh go to the settings of that specific device and check the uh firmware version of your Ring security system.
74:00
Speaker 1
Okay. So, I'm in the ring ring ring system now, so, what where what would I find, is it uh, settings or is it uh, account settings or what Oh, I see. No, don't look daddy, uh, so but you're saying that basically, I just need to just make sure that the firmware settings are as up-to-speed as possible, yeah? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Cool. Okay. So
75:00
Speaker 2
regarding with that one sir I really don't have an idea uh regarding with your Link Security system I do really apologize yes it should be updated because there are actually some issues that you know the firmware of their Ring Security systems is not updated and it really cause an issue especially with the connection of the Wi-Fi So uh yes after you uh put in your desired Wi-Fi name for the 2.4 and
75:00
Speaker 1
so so this is so this this is in, because it it says at the top, it says living room, so so obviously I've got lots of different nodes all called something slightly different. So, um so is this only going to change the living room or is it going to change it for the all of the the the nodes that are connected to that living room? So it will do everything. Got ya.
76:00
Speaker 2
5 gigahertz. Don't forget to click on apply first and then the change just will load up. There will be some notification just click on proceed or continue and then after a while that page will load up and then you can then easily connect your ring security system on the 2.4 gigahertz. All of the nodes will now going yeah it will change for everything so this nodes that you have will now then carry two or three.
76:00
Speaker 1
Uh, gotcha, OK. And and so, so one, one thing that that's confusing me is is the the settings. So if I go into the app, for instance, um, and, and it's it's saying Wi-Fi mode and it says mixed, and it doesn't give me the option to change anything. Don't, gotcha.
77:00
Speaker 2
Wi-Fi name, because if you want to separate the other 5GHz bands, since you have two 5GHz bands, so if you want them to carry three different Wi-Fi names, so it will show up the three different Wi-Fi names then.
77:00
Speaker 1
Got you. Okay. And is there any disadvantage of me not using the five gigahertz or do you think I wouldn't notice any difference? [silence] Yeah. Okay. Okay. And so if I, so if I just simply click, so basically what I'm looking at is it says wireless.
78:00
Speaker 2
on the web browser you can change something or there are some settings on the web browser that is not available on the app? [silence] Um, you will absolutely not notice any difference regarding with that one because, um, there are really some devices that cannot connect on the 5 GHz directly because there are because there are some devices that are only capable on 2.4. So, 5 GHz can only be used, let's say on your phone, on your laptop. They can absolutely function the same way as how it was, um, working before. So, you will definitely not going to notice any difference on that.
78:00
Speaker 1
and then it's got 2.4 gigahertz band and then underneath that it's got 5 gigahertz one band and then 5 gigahertz and underneath that it's got 5 gigahertz two band so presumably if i just click the ah off button for the for the two options for the 5 gigahertz which leaves the 2.4 gigahertz band on as the only option and then press uh okay and apply then that that's that's gonna change all of the node into just 2.4 gigahertz band is that correct
79:00
Speaker 2
Kit mark um like just leave the five gigahertz open okay because uh yes 2.4 can absolutely cover uh wider uh you know coverage however speaking with the signal or how it performs it can really uh can cover uh iron the five gigahertz band so it's much better to leave the five gigahertz open especially when you have like you know a much more advanced devices such as your phone your laptop your work laptop and your ipad so they should be connected in the five gigahertz band.
