V2 Grader Summary

The agent performed thorough troubleshooting and appropriately escalated after exhausting options, but committed a material technical error by instructing the use of a non-existent 'pair button' on an MX6200 router. This error was confirmed against KB documentation (Assessment 3). While communication had minor focus issues due to off-topic conversation, the agent maintained ownership and provided clear escalation details. The issue remains unresolved and requires Level 2 intervention.

V1 Case Analysis

Customer unable to add WH-W03 child nodes to new MX6201G Velop Pro 6E parent. Performed resets, 5-press pairing, firmware update, but nodes remained unresponsive. Escalated to Level-2.

Troubleshooting Steps
  • Power-cycled modem and new router; verified parent node shows solid white.
  • Performed factory reset (15s hold) on child nodes.
  • Guided 5-press reset on parent node to enter discovery mode.
  • Updated router firmware via web UI.
  • Disabled Express Forwarding, tried wired back-haul, re-added wireless child node via CA router setup.
  • Repeated resets and LED checks on child nodes.
Key Observations
  • Call duration was excessively long with repeated steps and no clear progress
  • Agent incorrectly told the customer the MX6200 has a pair button – KB confirms MX6200 uses only 5-press method
  • Agent mixed up reset vs. factory reset instructions early in the call
  • Extended off-topic conversation about the Philippines and Subic Bay reduced efficiency
  • Agent correctly identified the need for a firmware update and escalated appropriately
Positive Highlights
  • Accurately collected model number (MX6201G) and serial number (58W10M23E00538)
  • Correctly guided customer through firmware update after identifying it as a potential cause
  • Performed multiple legitimate troubleshooting steps: 5-press pairing, wired backhaul, Express Forwarding disable
  • Escalated to Level-2 with clear next step and provided callback number
Agent Errors / Gaps
  • Incorrectly stated that the MX6200 series has a 'pair button' – KB (universal_mesh_node_management.md) confirms MX6200 uses only 5-press method
  • Initially confused factory reset (15s hold) with setup reset (5-press), causing customer confusion
  • Failed to verify firmware compatibility between the WH-W03 and MX6201G before pairing attempts
  • Allowed conversation to drift into personal topics (Subic Bay, Navy, lumpia) for several minutes

Hi, thank you for calling Linksys Support. This is Joy. How can I help you today? Hi, uh, we just got a new router from Linksys, and I just want— just one second, let me pull up the file so I can tell you the serial number. And, um, it doesn't seem to be working right. Also, the smaller, the Linksys One, the parent, and the Linksys Two, the child, they're not turning green. So, what we did— what we bought from you— is called the Linksys Velop Pro 6E. Mm-hm. And let me just write that down. Sorry. Linksys Pro, Linksys Velop Pro 6E. And can you give me the serial number for that? Okay. Mm-hm. Uh, 58W10M23E00538. Is it D for Delta or B for Bravo? Um, it's, uh, 58W as in whiskey, 10M as in Mike, 23E as in Echo, 0538. Okay, got it. Um, just to verify, this is Mr. John Sturbaugh? If I pronounce it correct— Yep, that's— yeah, it's Dr. John Sturbaugh. Okay. All right. So, um, right now your current main node is still the WH-W03, correct? Um, what did you ask? Uh, what is your current main node? Still your old system, the small node? Uh, well, I unplugged all that and we put in the new one. Okay. And it seems to have a really good signal. And I thought the little white ones that we had, um, the Linksys— let me look on the bottom here. Um, uh, the Velop setup, 891, uh, recovery key. Uh, WH-W03, is that the model number? Yeah. Yeah, the serial number ends in, uh, 4390. It's a little tiny white tower. We were told that it's not strong enough, it's old, and that's why we bought the big new one. Okay. Okay, yeah, I see your ticket here for that old node. So, um, right now you already set up the main— or your new router, correct? What's the LED light of that one? Solid white? Um, the, the new one, uh, the 62— Mm-hm. 6201G, MX6201G. Um, it has a constant blue light. It's a big gray tower. Let me just check on that one. Okay. How did you set it up before calling? Uh, what's that? How did you set up your new Linksys tower? Um, I plugged the Ethernet from the modem directly into the new tower, and then the new power cable. Okay. So if it's still solid blue, that means it's still ready for setup. So, for you to set it up easily, just press the reset button five times. One press every second to set it up. Oh, that's right. I forgot how to do that. Okay. One, two, three. Okay. Now it's white. It's blinking white. Okay. All right, good. So just wait for that one to process, and let me know if it will turn to solid white. Okay. Do you still want me— Um, including the— I don't know. Mm-hm. I'll go on. So sorry. Um, the, the white tower, the little child and the parent one, uh, the old one, uh, to reset, you use— you press the reset button like, uh, uh, you do that five times. Um, for you to do a full factory reset, you just have to press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds to erase all the data. Okay. Let me write this down. Press and hold— So that's just for the setup. Mm-hm. Okay. Press and hold reset times 15 seconds will erase everything. And then setup is, um. Five press. Uh, press times 1 second, five times. Yep. Okay. All right. Let's see what the big tower is doing. Uh, not on off white. It's solid white? Uh, it's blinking white. Okay. Still blinking white. Solid white. Okay, good. So, for you to test the Internet of the new router, just connect to the network name underscore velop setup, and use the password that's at the bottom of your new tower. Okay. Um, all right. Solid white. What do I do next? Mm-hm. Um, you connect to the new network name, which is underscore velop setup, and use the password that's at the bottom of that new router. Okay. I gotta— I have to take everything apart to get at it. Uh, I'm gonna put this hold on speaker. One second. Sure. Okay. Can you hear me now? Yep, I can hear you. Okay. All right. So I have the new router, and, uh, the, um, it looks like the name is underscore velop setup, O-D-E, and then the password. Yep. Uh, F-R-T-E-T-D-E-P-T-A. Where do I put that in? Uh, when you connect to that network, the underscore velop setup, it will ask for a password, then you use that password. So you can see it. Um, you mean on my computer or on my phone? Um, on your computer or on your phone. You need to connect to that network first. Okay. Do you want to change that, or you just wanted to leave it as it is? All right. Go to network. Mm-hm. And it says no connection. Network. Wi-Fi velop setup 891. Um, the, the name, uh, that I have right now is Wi-Fi underscore velop setup 891. I think that's the old tower's. So I have to change the, uh, the name and then put in the new password. Is that correct? Yes, sir. You need to connect to your new network name, the one that's at the bottom of your new tower. Okay. All righty. I'm on my computer right now. I'm not really too sure how to change the name of the Wi-Fi. Um, yeah, I can walk you through that, but first you need to connect to the network name velop setup, and then use the default password of the new router so that we can access its settings, and then there we can change your network name and password. Okay. Um. Mm-hm. I'm trying to find out where to do that, and I've clicked on network and internet, Wi-Fi velop setup 891, and then there's a space and 2. I think that's old information. I'm not too sure how to set it up for, uh, velop setup, the new one. Um. When you go to your Wi-Fi settings on your computer, did it pop up automatically on your Wi-Fi list? Um, I'm under wire-wireless network properties. Connect automatically when this network is in range. Um, yes. I'm, um, when I go to, um, settings, I hit network and internet. Mm-hm. Yep. And, um, it says no, no internet access. Your device can only access other devices on your local network. It says get help. Uh, Wi-Fi connect, manage known networks, metered network. It says on. Should I open that up? Um, does it give you the available networks or show available networks? Uh, right now it's velop setup 8912 properties, show available network, and. Yes. It only shows velop setup 891 space 2, no internet, secured. Should I disconnect that? Oh, wait. I see it now. Um, yes, you should. I see it now. It says, uh, underscore velop setup O-D-E, or zero D-E. So I click on that. Okay. Yep. And then connect automatically. Yes. And I hit connect. Now it says enter the password. Okay. Yep. Let me enter the password. F-R-T-E-T, uh, D-E-P-T-A. Next. Velop setup O-D-E, secured, checking network. Connected, secured. Okay, good. So once connected, um, try to open up a browser and access the website myrouter.local. Okay. Opening up, uh, Google Chrome. And, uh, right. You can try to visit some websites first to check if the internet is now working fine before we access the settings. Didn't quite understand. I'm on the, um, I'm on my browser now. What do I do? Mm-hm. Try to Google something or, um, enter some websites just to double-check if the internet is working. It is. Yeah, Fox News is working. Oh, okay. That's good. Um, do you want to change the network name, the default network name of your new router, or you wanted to leave it as it is? Um. Leave it as it is. Okay, I see. So no need for us to visit the router settings. So your new router is now set up. Okay. Mm-hm. That's it? That's all I had to do? Yeah. Yeah, that's it. You just have to connect your devices to your new network. Okay. Now, um, how do you get the, uh, the little, uh, white tower's, um, you know, the child and the parent, uh, plugged into another spot in the house? Do I have to be within three feet and then, uh, push the button five times? Um, yes, but first you need to reset first the child nodes. They, their, um, lights must turn to solid hot pink, or you might see that as solid red. Then you do the five press, or you can just press the pair button of the new router. There's a pair button there. You can use that one to add the child nodes. Okay. Didn't quite understand you, but the, the child node, um, and actually this is number one called parent node. Um. Mm-hm. It's plugged in, and it's solid red. What do I do? Um, the new, the parent node is now solid red, not white. Um, the brand new one that we just played around with is solid white. That's the big new one. Oh, okay. And I have two little. Okay. I have two little white ones. One's called parent, one's called child. I was using the parent node as the original big router, but it was just underpowered. So they told me that I could use both of these little towers. Mm-hm. To boost the signal on the back of the house. Um, yes. Um, you need to reset them first, both of them, your old towers. Okay. How do I do that? Um, kindly plug that in right next to your new, new router, or at least two to three feet apart from it. Yeah, they're, it's plugged in, and it's about a foot away from the new router. Okay. Uh, kindly reset them first. Just press and hold the reset button until the light will turn off, then release. Okay. I'm pressing and holding, and, um, and it's, it was blinking red, and now there's no light at all. Should I release? Yep. Okay. You do the same thing on the other node. Okay. I'll do that right now. Uh, uh, I have to run upstairs and get the other node. Um. Okay. Okay. Oh, hang on. I thought I brought it down. Just one second. I gotta find it. Okay. Let me run upstairs and get the other one. I appreciate your help. You're welcome, sir. Okay. Almost there. Okay. All right. Um, so the, um, the number one old parent node, old white tower, uh, is now solid red. Okay. So it's now ready for setup. So just plug in the other node. It will boot up first, then let's just wait for it to turn solid red or blinking red before we reset. Okay. I don't have any more, uh, sockets to plug in the power cord. Uh, can I disconnect the number one parent node, uh, power cord and use it on the child number two? Um, we can add the first node. Then after we add it, we can just unplug it so that we can add the second node. Okay. Let's do the first node. Okay. Called number one parent. How do I do that? Uh, just press the pair button of your new router, the MX6200, the big button at the center. And what is that big button? There's nothing. Um, it says reset with a little button, and then there's a big button, but it doesn't say anything. That's the pair button. So you press that button for one second to add the other node. Okay. And what's the name of that big button? Pair? Pair. Yeah. Pair button. How do you spell pair? Pair, as in pairing. P-A-I-R. I don't understand. P for Peter. What? P for Peter, A for Apple, I for India, R for Robert. Pair. Okay. That's the pairing button. All right. I pressed it for one minute. Yes. One second only. Yeah. I, I pressed it for one second. Yeah, I did. Then what's the light of the router? Is it blinking? Uh, the new router, the brand new one, is still solid white. That's the model MX6200. And it's still solid white. Should I press it again for one second? Yes. Okay. Zero, one, release. It's still solid white. Um, just give it, like, 30 seconds if it will react or not. Okay. And then observe the light of the other node if it, it will also respond. Okay. It's still solid red. Okay. So this new router. Mm-hm. The new router that we just bought, the MX6200, uh, that we, you know, the $150 big gray one, is that called the parent now? Yeah, that will be called as the parent node. Okay. And then we'll have child one and child two? Yes. Oh, okay. Is it still solid white? Solid white. Okay. Um, if the pair button won't work, uh, do the five press on the reset button to add the other one. Okay. So I'm gonna go to the new parent, the brand new MX6200. Mm-hm. And I'm gonna press, uh, the reset button. How do I press it? Five times. Press release five times. Okay. Press, release, press, release, like that? Yes. Okay. One, release. One, release. Three, release. Four, release. Five, release. Okay. Okay. And now. And now the white light is blinking. Okay, good. Then observe the light of the other node if it will respond or not. Okay. And we're gonna be calling this child one. Still solid red on child one. Okay. Just give it one minute. Okay. What time is it in the Philippines right now? Um, right now it's already 3:33 AM. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Um, you, you're gonna need to have a, a extra supply of lumpia to keep you going. Yeah, exactly. Um, my water is coffee. So the parent is now solid white, and the child number one is still solid red. How far is it from the parent node? One foot. One foot. Um, kindly access, um, on your computer, kindly access myrouter.local. Okay. So just myrouter, M-Y-R-O-U-T-E-R dot local? Yes. Okay. Myrouter.local. Mm-hm. Okay. There it is. All right. Linksys. Why am I getting a warning when I access my router settings in a browser? Um. Just bypass that one. What's that? Just bypass that warning. Just continue or proceed. Oh, just scroll down? Yep. Okay. Do I hit continue? Yes. Okay. Your connection is not pri-private. Um, back to safety. Advanced. Or ad back to safety or advanced? Advanced. Okay. Click advanced. Uh-huh. All right. Hide advanced. Uh, proceed to myrouter.local unsafe. Can I do that? Yep. Yep. Oh, okay. Download the link app for setup. Uh, I tried to do that, but I. Um. I couldn't do it. Can you see a picture of two smartphones? Kindly click on that. Um, what I see is my home Wi-Fi, a smartphone, and then right behind it is a black picture of a smartphone. Yeah. Just click the picture of the smartphone, the two smartphones. Okay. I did that, and it says waiting. Okay. Okay. Now it says access router, router password. Okay. Use the router password that's at the bottom of your new parent node. Okay. F-R-T-E-T. D-E-P-T-A. Okay. Signing in. Incorrect password. Let me check it again. Um, okay. If that won't work, try admin all in lowercase. Um, F-R-T-E-T D-E-P-T-A. F-R-T-E-T D-E-P-T-A. Um, all right. I'm gonna try it again. What should I put in now? Admin all in lowercase. Oh, admin. All right. All right. Um, we've updated our password requirements. Uh, to be more secure, please create a new one. Okay. So you create your new router password. That's for the website only, not for the Wi-Fi password to connect the devices. Okay. Uh, let's see. Enter recovery key. Um, there is a recovery key. Should I put that in there? Yes. 01028. Yes. 01028. Okay. Submit. It says waiting. Create a new admin password and hint. Um. Mm-hm. Should I be writing this new password down? Um, yeah, because you need that one every time you log in to that website to access your settings. Okay. I got a lot of passwords and everything. I'm kinda confused. Um, this is a password for me to enter Linksys? Yes. It's not. The se the settings only. Okay. So I should call this the Linksys, um, admin password, right? Yep. Um, can I just use the same Wi-Fi password that to make it easier? Um, for that router password, it has some requirements because it must be at least 10 characters with uppercase and lowercase, a number, and special character. Okay. Mm-hm. All right. I put that in there. And, uh, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, nine letters, one, two, three, four, five, five numbers, and an exclamation point. And then a password hint. What do you mean by password hint? Um, you can just skip the password hint. Just submit that one. Okay. Let me write this down, what I just put in. Okay. All right. Reset. Okay. It says waiting. Okay. Nodes are still solid white, and then child node one is solid red. That's correct. And now I'm at smart Wi-Fi tools with all sorts of pictures. Okay, good. Kindly scroll down first at the very bottom of that page. And can you see end user license agreement, privacy statement at the very bottom? Okay. I'll scroll down and take a look. Okay. All right. Uh, end user license agreement. Should I click on that? Uh, kindly click CA, the last option. Okay. CA. I clicked on CA. Mm-hm. Waiting. Then it will just bring you to the same page. Okay. And then on the left side option under router settings, kindly click connectivity. Okay. Router settings, connectivity. Waiting. And then can you see, um, CA router setup? CA router setup. Yes. Okay. You click on that one. And then you click add wireless child node. Okay. Oh, wireless, not wired. Okay. Add wireless child node. Yes. You click on that one and then apply. And then observe the light of your parent node and child node number one. Okay. I hit apply. And, and right now the, the oh, the parent is blinking white. Okay. And the child number one is still solid red. Okay. Let's just wait for the parent node to turn solid white. Um, do you have extra Ethernet cable? Um, yes. Okay. We will if that won't still work, we will try to connect the child node one wired to the parent node. Then we'll add it first as a wired child node. Let's see if that would work. Okay. Yeah. There was a very small white Ethernet cable. It was only, like, three feet long. And I saw that there were two Internet ports underneath the 6200. So. Yes. I'm gonna go ahead and get that small Ethernet cable. Should I plug it into the parent? Yep. Okay. One second. The other end would be on the parent and then. Okay. There's any other port on the child node one. Okay. One second. I can go ahead and plug in the, uh, Ethernet, uh, for the one extra port, uh, from the parent. And, uh, then yeah, there's two Ethernet ports on the child number one. It doesn't matter which one, right? Yep. It doesn't matter. Okay. All right. That's plugged in. And then okay. And then kindly reset the child node one again. Press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds. Okay. One, two. Three, four, five, seven, eight, nine, ten. It's black. Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, se okay. Release. And now it's a light. Yep. It's a light blue, constant. Okay. Just wait for it to boot up. Okay. And let's wait for it to turn solid red or hot pink again. Okay. Now it's blinking blue. Okay. It's really complex. I've had to link up Ethernet, Ethernet, reboot, different passwords, going into admin. I'm talking to the Philippines right now. I'm going to work. I'm gonna send you a video. I'll send watch it later. It's about time to talk. But I so that part, I got it. I got it. Oh my God. Have a good shift. Okay. All right. Ooh. All right. Uh, let's see. Are you still there? Yep. Is it now solid red or hot pink? Um, no. It's, it's blinking blue. And I got a phone call coming in. Uh, send a voicemail. Let me see if I can send it to voicemail. See what happens. Okay. All right. Okay. It got sent to voicemail, and you're still there from the Philippines. And it's. Yes. It's blinking blue. Okay. And the new tower, the parent, is blinking white. All right. Let's just wait for the parent node to turn solid white before we add the, uh, child node one. Okay. Um, child one is solid red. Hi. I'm on the telephone with the Philippines with a lot of complex problems with Wi-Fi, Internet, and the new routers. How are things? Okay. Oh, good. We're, uh, well underway of connecting the house up with the new systems. This has just taken a few hours on the phone. Sure. Bye. Okay. Okay. Solid red for child one, blinking white, parent. Yeah. Let's just wait for the parent node to turn solid white. Okay. I would never have been able to figure this out myself. This is very complicated. Yeah. It's really hard sometimes to add, especially the older models. Yeah. That's why it's acting up this way. Yeah. Mm-hm. Still blinking. Okay. Still blinking. Okay. Let's just wait for it. Um, kindly disconnect first the Ethernet cable from the parent node. Then let's just connect it later once it turns solid white. Okay. Um, the Ethernet from the modem to the parent node should be disconnected? Uh, no. The router to the child node. The one that is connected to the child node. Disconnected at the parent? Yes. Okay. All right. Ethernet cable at the parent going to the child, disconnected. Okay. Good. Parent still blinking white. Kindly reboot that one. Just turn it off. And then after 10 seconds, turn it back on. So basically, disconnect the power from the parent node? Yeah. Or you can also just use the switch at the bottom to turn it off. Oh. Mm-hm. Okay. Uh, all right. I turned it off. And how long do I wait? Just for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. Okay. Okay. It's back on, and it's solid blue. Okay. Blinking blue. Still blinking blue. Okay. Solid white. Okay. Good. So you can now connect the Ethernet cable back to the parent node. Okay. And then kindly refresh the page on your computer since we reboot the parent node. Okay. Turn the computer back on. And it says router not found. You are not connected to your router. Retry. Yeah. Just retry. Okay. Mm-hm. Waiting. Router not found. You are not connected to your router. I hit retry, and it says waiting, and it comes back, router not found. Um, try to check first your Wi-Fi settings if the network name is now available since we just reboot the router. Okay. And okay. It did it jumped back to velop-setup-891. And it really needs to be velop-setup-ode. Yes. And then I hit connect. And, uh, connected secured. Okay. Then just refresh the page on the website. Okay. I'm under connectivity. Uh, CA router setup. CA router setup. Yep. Yeah. And then add wired child node. Wired child node. Okay. Okay. I clicked, uh, your master node is now configured. And I said add wired child node. Do I hit apply? Yes. Add wired child node and then apply. Okay. I just hit applied. Apply. Nothing's happening. Parent node is still solid white? Correct. Can you, uh, press the pair button again for one second? Okay. Links this pair button. One second. Solid white. Okay. Give it a second. Still solid white. Correct. Um, do the five press on the reset button. On the tower. On the parent. Yeah. Parent node. Three, four, five. Blinking white. Okay. Then observe the light of the other of the child node one if it will respond. Okay. Still solid red. The Ethernet cable is connected, right? Yeah. It's connected from the parent to the child. Okay. Good. Double-checking. Yeah. It's connected nice and tight. If that one still works, we'll try the other child node just to isolate if there's a problem with that specific. Oh. Yeah. There's a change here. Uh, child number one is blinking blue light, uh, very slowly. Okay. That's good. It's now trying to connect. Yay. Mm-hm. Once it will turn solid blue, just let me know so that we can disconnect the Ethernet cable. Okay. Still blinking. Tower, parent, solid white. Okay. Red solid. Okay. Just give it a minute. Kindly check your, um, web interface again on your computer. Um, you can click okay to exit from connectivity page. Okay. I'm on connectivity. And should I click on okay? Yes. Just click okay to exit from it. And then. All right. Uh, go to device list. Go to what? Device list. Uh, device list. Yes. Then check if the child node one is detected, if it's listed under my network. Okay. Under my network, I have desktop, online, uh, H4, Lynxus, 00538, online, Lynxus 24399, online. And Lynxus 24399 is offline. I don't know what's what. Kindly check at the bo um, what's the last number again of the other Lynxus? Uh, 0538 is the parent node. How about the other one? I think that is already the child node. Yeah. I can see Lynxus 00538 online. And then there's another one, Lynxus 24399 is online. Uh, that's the other node that is not yet, uh, added. Um, what's the light of the child node one? Is it still solid red? Yes. Can you try to check at the bottom the last four-digit number of the serial number for that node? Okay. Is it the other Lynxus that is online on your device list? Okay. And, um, this child node ends in 399. And then the other child number two ends in, uh, uh, 4534. 4534. Is it is it the nodes that are connected on the device list? Nothing is uh, no. There's no listing of, um, uh, this, uh, child number two that we haven't plugged in yet. Um. Mm-hm. That ends in, um, 4534. I don't see it on the device list. No. Okay. I see. Can you disconnect the Ethernet cable from the child node to the parent node? Okay. Disconnecting it from the child. Okay. And what's the light of the child node one? Still red. Solid red. Should we try the other child? Yeah. Can you unplug that node first? Then we'll try the child node number two if it will still have the same, um. Okay. Yeah. Same light. All righty. We're gonna we're gonna go to child number two. Can I plug in the power cord? Yes. Should I plug in the Ethernet cable? Um, no. We'll just add it as wireless child node first. Okay. And it is solid blue. Uh, blinking. Let's see. Yeah. Blinking blue. Okay. Let me know if it will turn blinking red. Okay. Oh, it's red. Blinking red. Okay. Can you reset? Press and hold until the light will turn off, then release once it will turn solid blue. Okay. Pushing pressing on the reset button. It's, uh, blinking, blinking, blinking. Solid red. And no light at all. Black. Okay. Wait for the light to turn blue, then release. I'm still pressing the reset button. Mm-hm. And there's no light at all. Now it's solid blue. Now it's blinking blue. I'm still pressing the reset button on child two. Um, you can let go. Okay. I let go. Uh, blinking blue. Child two. Okay. Let me know if it will turn to solid hot pink or purple or red. Okay. Still blinking, uh, light blue. Okay. Solid red. Hot pink. All right. Then can you press the pair button on the parent node? For one second. Yes. One second. Parent, solid white. If it's still solid white, do the five press on the reset button on the parent node. Okay. One off. Two off. Three off. Four off. Five off. Blinking white. Solid uh, red. Blinking white. Blinking white on the parent. Okay. How about child node number two? Solid hot pink. Solid hot pink. Solid white. Just give me. Parent. Parent, solid white. Um, okay. Kindly add the wireless child node on the web interface on your computer. Going back to the computer. And, um, looking at device list. And, um, let's see what the last four. Um, you go back to yes. Then you go back to connectivity. Okay. Just checking the serial number. It should be I think it's 4534. Yeah. It should be 4534. Okay. Um, let's see. I'm still on device list. So how do I go back, uh, to connectivity? Um, just click okay. Uh, oh, sure. Okay. Connectivity. Waiting. Updates are available. Uh, admin. Do I go to CA router setup? Um, kindly update first the firmware. Um, you go back to basic. Then you can see there the firmware, right? Firmware update. Updates are available. Automatic. And then the update button. Should I hit update button? Um, can you click details first? Details. Lynxus. Then can you give. 0538. Update available. Um, can you give me the current firmware version? The current version is 1.0.6.214447. Okay. Let me just double-check first. Sure. Okay. Yeah. I think this is the reason why it's not adding child nodes. Can you update the firmware first? Just click update. Okay. Hitting update. Important update firmware. Do you want to continue? Yes? Yep. Uh, downloading firmware. Installing firmware update. Do not power off. Oh, okay. It's starting to fill in. Yeah. It will take some time. So just update me. Sure. In one time. So even though this is a brand new, uh, tower, a brand new parent node, it needed an update on the firmware? Yeah. Because we have just released some new firmware for this model. That's why it's not yet, um, updated on that specific router that you have. Wow. Because, um, when it was released, it's just still using the old firmware. And then we just have released this firmware, um, last September 2025. And let me just check. Um, this was manufactured 2024. So that's why it's still using the 2024 firmware. Oh, okay. Interesting. Mm-hm. Yeah. Uh, let's see. Router reboot. Your router is rebooting okay? Do I hit okay? Yep. Okay. Waiting. Waiting. Then check again the firmware version once done. Okay. It's still, uh, big circle. Waiting. Okay. Still waiting. Okay. What's the light of the parent node? Is it blinking or starting to boot up? It's, uh, blinking blue right now. Okay. That's good. Now trying to restart. Still waiting. Still blinking. Oh, it just turned white. Parent node just turned constant white. And it still says now it's blinking. Now it's hot pink. Hot pink, uh, solid. Okay. Waiting. Yeah. Let's just wait for the web interface. Parent node is now solid white, correct? It's solid red still. Hot pink. Okay. And the computer says the computer says waiting. Okay. Uh, um, blinking white. All right. Good. Solid white. Still says waiting on the computer. No, that's all right. Okay. Let's just wait for it to process because we might interrupt the update process. Solid white. Waiting. Okay. Let's just give it a minute. Then if it will still have a waiting sign on the computer, just refresh the page. Okay. Um, do you know where Subic Bay is in the Philippines? Subic Bay. Um, yeah. I'm familiar with that one because I have never been on that place. So yeah. I'm familiar with that. I think that's on Cebu City. I don't really remember. But, um, I was a, a doctor. And I had to join the United States Navy to pay my, uh, schol-scholarship to go to medical school because it was very expensive. So I was a Navy doctor in, uh, Bremerton, right across from Seattle. So we had a lot of Filipino nurses who were just fantastic. That's why I heard all about, uh, Lumpia. Oh, yeah. And, um, then I trained in, uh, submarines and diving. And I was supposed to go to Subic Bay in the Philippines. And then that changed. And I ended up going to Florida. But, um, I don't think the Navy has a Navy the US Navy does not have a Navy base at Subic Bay anymore. Yeah. I think so. But yeah. Subic Bay is, uh, popular in the Philippines. It's, like, one of the tourist spots. Oh, no kidding. Mm-hm. Yeah. So yeah. That's in Manila, the uh, in Luzon. Oh, that's neat. Oh, I wanted to go to the Philippines so bad. Everybody's so friendly. And it's just so gorgeous. Oh. Yeah. You must visit the Philippines. Do you really love to, like, do some adventures there? Because we have a lot of tourist spots, really, that you I'm pretty sure you might really love it. Oh, it would be so much fun. Mm-hm. Yeah. Exactly. Oh, solid white. Waiting. Okay. You can now refresh the page. Okay. Your connection is not private. Go to advanced? Yeah. Just like what you did earlier to bypass it. I think you need to re-log in. Okay. Proceed to, uh, myrouter.local? Yes. Then just click the phone picture. Connection is not private. Advanced. I hit advanced. And then I hit proceed to myrouter.info. Unsafe. Yes. And okay. And I think the two phones are going to come up. Let's see. Yep. It says waiting. Okay. There's a sign-in with the two phones. Clicking on the two phones. Mm-hm. Uh, nothing happens when I click on the picture. But it says access router. Router password. Yes. Do I put that in? Yep. Uh-huh. Just input your router password again. Router password. That's, uh oh. The one that you created. That's the one. No, the one that you changed. Oh, jeez. What is it? Well, I have the Lynxus admin password. Did you, like, take note of that password earlier? Um, well, I wrote down the Lynxus admin password that had to have 10 numbers. Yeah. That one. Characters. Okay. Is that is that also the new access router password? Yeah. That's the router password or the admin password. They are the same. Okay. So on the bottom, it said, uh, F-R-T-E-T-D-E-P-T-A. That doesn't work anymore. I should use a new one, right? Um, that one is for Wi-Fi. When you use your like, when you connect your devices to Wi-Fi, you use the default password. It's at the bottom of the router. But when you access the website, you use the password that you have changed. The one that you created. Okay. I'm putting it in. So that new password is for the website only. Okay. So the Lynxus admin password is just for the website? Yes. But for the Wi-Fi, still the one that is on at the bottom of the page. Okay. All right. I'm there. Router settings. Connectivity. Do I hit that? Um, you click the CA option first at the very bottom of the page. Um, CA. Mm-hm. Okay. I'm on C I hit CA. And then you go to connectivity. Okay. Then check the firmware version again. Firmware update. Automatic. Details. Uh, there's um, oh, it's green. Uh, up to date. Nodes are up to date. Can you click details? Details. Uh, Lynxus 00538. 1.0.14.216738. MX6200. Okay. Good. That's the updated firmware version. Um, can you click CA router setup? Clicking on CA router setup. Your master node is now configured. Add wireless child node again. Add wireless child node. And then do I hit apply? Yep. Okay. Hit apply. And do I hit okay? Yeah. You can click okay. Then observe the light of the node. All right. The parent is blinking white. The child does not have the Ethernet connected. It just has power. And it is solid hot pink. Okay. Just give it a minute to respond. Okay. Child node still not responding. Child node is still solid hot pink. Okay. Parent blinking white. Let's wait for okay. Let's wait for it to turn solid white. Then we will try again the five breaths. Okay. Parent still blinking white. Okay. Still blinking white? Yeah. Still blinking white. Can you reboot it again? Then we will use the Ethernet cable. Okay. What do I do? Uh, just reboot the parent node. Turn it off. And then turn it back on to reboot it. Okay. So down underneath, I turn it off. And I wait 10 seconds? Yes. Turning it back on. Solid blue. Blinking blue. Uh, computer says router not found. Yeah. You are not connected to your router. Still blinking blue. Solid white. And I'm the parent. All right. Can you connect the Ethernet? Hot pink on the hot pink on the parent. Can you connect the Ethernet cable to the parent node and the child node number two? Okay. Let's just wait for the parent node to turn solid white. Okay. Parent node is solid hot pink. And it says router not found on the computer. Do I hit retry? Um, make sure your computer will reconnect to the Wi-Fi name of the new parent node. How do I check that? Uh, you go to your Wi-Fi settings and check if it will connect to Lynxus again. Uh, develop setup. O-okay. Um. Because it might auto-reconnect with your old Wi-Fi name. Right. Network and internet Wi-Fi. Show available networks. Uh, it, it is connected to develop setup ODE. Okay. Solid white. Parent. All right. Um, did you already connect the Ethernet cable to the child node and parent node? Yes. Okay. Can you do the five breaths on the parent node? Five breaths on the parent node. One, two, three, four, five. Blinking white. Okay. How about the child node? Did it respond? Solid hot pink. But the parent node is now blinking, right? Correct. Okay. Um, let me just check regarding with this one. Sir, while waiting for that, I'll be right back within two to three minutes. All right? Okay. Great. Okay. Thank you so much. Hell o, sir. Uh, sorry. That's all right. Okay. I'm back. Yeah. So, uh, what's the progress with the child node? It's still not responding? Yeah. Let me check it. Uh, the child node is solid hot pink. The parent node is blinking white. The develop setup is ODE connected secure. Okay. Can you disconnect the, um, Ethernet cable from the child node to the parent node? And then you go to your Wi-Fi settings again. Okay. Ethernet disconnected from child two. I'm at network, internet, Wi-Fi settings. Okay. And then go to your available networks. Check if the network name of the child node will show up. Uh, still develop setup, but different, um, number. Um, what's showing up is underscore develop setup ODE. Can you see another develop setup? No. That's the only one that shows up. Well, there's other ones down below. Mm-hm. Wi-Fi ACDD3F. Wi-Fi ACD3F5G. GNS62. Um. Uh, check at the bottom of your child node too. Look for the network name there. Then check if you can see that on the list. Okay. The network name is, uh, develop setup, uh, B34. Yeah. Is it showing up, or? No. I don't see it. No. There's no develop setup except for the ODE. And then if I hit, uh, show available networks, uh, it's just develop setup ODE from the new tower. Okay. I see. Can you press and hold the reset button of the child node for 30 seconds this time? Okay. Uh, the reset button holding and for 30 seconds. Yes. So under network, internet, Wi-Fi, develop setup ODE, it says public network recommended. That's what's circled. That's okay, right? Yeah. That's all right. Okay. And the child two, there's no light on. I'm still pressing the setup button. I mean, the. Okay. Reset button. All right. 30 seconds. Okay. Okay. Let's go. Because if the network name of the child node will not show up under available network, we cannot really add it. Oh, it won't work? Yeah. It won't work. I'm sorry. That's why. Mm-hm. Go ahead. That's why I'm looking for its network name, because I wanted to, like, we need to access it to check also the firmware version of the child node, to check if it's up to date or not. Because it might be the child node's problem, not the, uh, new parent node. Oh. It's too the, the child one and two is just too old? Mm-hm. Yeah. That's why I wanted to check the firmware too of that. But if their network name will not show up on the available network list, then we cannot access it. Or it nor we cannot add it as child node. Oh. Yeah. Solid pink. Okay. Can you check again your Wi-Fi list? Okay. Oh, let's see. I'm back at network and internet. Uh, develop setup. Let's see. Advanced. Try to figure out how to get back to, um, available networks. Um, I'm at Wi-Fi, Ethernet, VPN, mobile hotspot, airplane mode, advanced network setting. Click on Wi-Fi. Uh, Wi-Fi. Show available network. Um, oh, develop setup B34 is now there. Okay. Good. Click on it? Can you connect to that? Yeah. Click on it. Connect to it. And then use the password that's at the bottom of the child node. Okay. It says, uh, enter the password. Boy, is that hard to read. Okay. Oh, I think it's UPUPGAZ. BZ. U. 6E. See if that works. Checking network requirements. It's pretty hard to read that little thing. Yeah. It's too small. Did it connect? Can't connect. Um, secured. Can't connect to this network. I'm not sure if I typed it in correctly. It's, it's pretty hard to read. Uh, UPGAZVZU. It looks like 6A. Okay. Or 6E. Can't quite tell. Um, I might have put in the wrong one. Hang on. Ye-yeah. Try again. Oh. Okay. I pulled the whole thing off. And let's see what it says. Mm-hm. All right. I had to pull the sticker off to see if I can read it, because the light's pretty bad in my office. Okay. And. Yeah. That's an A. I think I put it in E. Um, so I put in the wrong code. Um, how do I reinsert the password? Um, just try to join again. Okay. I hit close. It says, "Can't connect to this network." Do I hit the word close? Yeah. Close. And then select the network again. Okay. Click on that. Connect automatically. Hit connect. Enter password. Here we go. Okay. UPGAZVZU6A. Next. Checking network requirements. Yeah. Last time I put in an E, it's actually the letter A. Okay. Did it connect? Uh, it says, "Checking network requirements right now." No internet. Secured. No internet. That's all right. Private secured. Mm-hm. That's all right, since, um, it's not your main node. And it's not yet connected to the system. So yeah. Just access again myrouter.local. I'm sorry. Go ahead. Um, you access again myrouter.local. Okay. Go back to the browser and type that in? Yep. Okay. And what is it again? My what? Myrouter.local. Okay. Link says, "Error message." Go to the bottom. Hit continue. Correct? Yep. Same process. Okay. Advanced. Uh, proceed to linksyswifi.com unsafe. Not secured. Waiting. Internet connection is down. Access develop router password. Yep. Which what do I put in for access develop? Um, just click uh, just use admin. A-D-M-I-N. All in lowercase. Admin. Sign in. Waiting. Okay. Wi-Fi settings. I'm seeing develop setup B34. 2.4 gigahertz, 5 gigahertz, 5 gigahertz 2. Um. Yeah. It says, "No internet connection." Uh, do I go to connectivity? Yep. You go to connectivity and check again the firmware version. Okay. Checking for updates. Uh, can't reach the update server right now. Please try again later. Um, details. Details. Link sys, uh, 2.4 5.3.4. Current version 2.1.20.216892. Yeah. Let me just check. Just a moment. Sure. Um, that's WHW03, correct? WHW03 version 2 is the model. Okay. Thank you. Yep. They are on the latest version. Um, can you try the five press again on the parent node, please? Since we already, um, accessed the web interface. Okay. I'm going to go to the parent node. And I push the pair times one second? Um, the reset button five times. Reset five times on the parent node. Yes. Okay. Blinking white. And then can you reconnect back to your parent node's network? Um, I'm sorry. What? Um, connect to your parent node's Wi-Fi network. Parent node Wi I'm not sure what that means. Uh, go to settings? Yes. Yeah. You connect again to develop the develop name of your parent node. Okay. So you cannot disconnect from the child node's network name. Okay. So on available networks, I'm only seeing develop setup B34, like for the child node. Should I hit disconnect? Mm-hm. Um, yeah. You can disconnect and connect to the network name of the parent node, if it's available. ODE. But if yeah. Yeah. The ODE. And it says connected. Yes. Good. Then you go back and just refresh the page so that we can access the parent node settings. Re uh, refreshed. Uh, your connection is not private. Go to advanced. Yeah. Right? Yep. Yep. Same process. You need to log in again. Okay. Waiting. Did the child node respond? Or it's still solid hot pink? Solid hot pink. And it says, "Sign in." Uh, access router admin. Uh, you the password that you created. The router password. Okay. All right. Okay. Access router with the new password. Signing in. Mm-hm. It says, "Waiting." The parent's blinking white. And child two is constant hot pink. Here we go. Okay. Um, Wi-Fi settings is develop setup ODE with, uh, a lot of gigahertz. Do I go to connectivity? Um, you click the CA option first at the bottom. Oh. CA. What does CA mean? Um, customer's advocacy. It will turn on all the features of the, uh, node. Customer what? Customer advocacy. Oh. Okay. CA was clicked. Now what? Then you go to connectivity. Connectivity. Router connectivity. And now what? And then you go to administration. Administration. Yes. Um, is the parent node still blinking white? Blinking white. Okay. Kindly turn off express forwarding. That's enabled, right? Kindly uncheck that one and then apply. Express forwarding enabled is checked. So I uncheck it. And now I hit apply? Yep. Okay. Applying changes. Your router is applying changes. Okay? Yes. Waiting. Okay. Connectivity. Um. Mm-hm. Okay. How about the parent node? It's still solid or blinking white? Blinking white. Okay. But the express forwarding is now disabled, correct? On the web interface. Yeah. Ex-express forwarding. The box for enabled is not checked. And I have not hit okay. I didn't hit okay yet. Okay. Uh, yeah. You then you go to CA router setup again. CA router setup. Yes. Okay. And I see, "Add wireless child nodes." Do I click on that? Yep. Okay. And I hit apply? Yes. And do I hit okay? Yep. All right. Then observe if the child node will now respond or still no. Okay. The parent node is blinking white. The child is constant hot pink. Okay. Just give it a minute. Okay. No change. Still not responding? No. Let me check again. Just a moment. I'll be right back. Okay. Hello, sir. Um, still not responding? Uh, uh, hang on just a second. I'm right in the middle of something. Okay. Uh, just 10 seconds. I got to fix something. One second. Okay. Okay. All right. Let's go back and see what's happening. I'm back. Okay. The parent is blinking white. And the child is constant hot pink. Okay. Thank you. Okay. So, um, we did all the troubleshooting steps for this one. But the child node will still connect for both of them. So, um, yep. Your case will be escalated to level 2 technician for advanced troubleshooting. And then just wait for their call back, uh, within this day or tomorrow. Okay. Do you think that these child one and child two are just too old? Yeah. It might be. That's one of the possibilities. Or one of the factors. That's why it's not connecting. But, um, our level 2 technician will still try to do a troubleshooting or still do a deep check on that one to verify. Oh. Okay. Wow. You've been so helpful. Thanks for spending five hours on the telephone with me. You have to be very hungry. Yeah. I'll be going home. You're my last customer for today. Thank you so much, sir. Okay. Mm-hm. All right. Thank you for calling LinkSys, sir. And then just keep your lines open for, um, level 2 technician's call back. All right? Okay. Um, should I hang up and they'll call me back on this cell phone? Um, yes. Your phone number uh, callback number would be 716-998-7474. Correct? Yeah. That's my cell phone. I'll just wait for I can hang up now. And I'll wait for a call back from a level 2 rep. Thank you very much. Yes. You're welcome. Have a good day. Bye. All right. Bye-bye.
