Speaker 1
Yeah, I hope so. Well, where do I start? I have a pretty robust link systems mesh system.

00:00
Speaker 1
and I have eight nodes, and I saw this morning, well, actually yesterday, that one of the nodes was solid red. So, I brought it back to the, to the mother node, or the mother router, and tried to, uh, factory reset it. And, um, uh, what's, what I'm stalled at is that the app is not recognizing it, when I've reset it. It won't allow me to add it back to the network, and, uh, the app keeps kicking me off. Um, and asks, asked to add it. yeah, the light, yeah, the light, uh, uh, when I'm trying to set it up, it's solid pink, or purple, I guess you guys can call it purple. Um, so it's, the node seems as though it's, um, trying to do its job, but the app just is, just constantly, constantly
01:00
Speaker 2
uh huh [silence]
01:00
Speaker 1
So do I need to delete the node before I reset and, and try to add it back? I'm, I'm sorry, uh, you're really cutting in and out. Can I? No, I don't know. Um, well, keep going. Yeah, the connection's pretty bad. Can you hear me okay? Okay, that's better. I don't know what happened, but that's better. All right. Go ahead. Yeah, that's right. Uh-huh. It is. It's within, you know, well, a minute ago is within about six feet. Is that close enough? [silence]
02:00
Speaker 2
Just to clarify. The node right now. Is it still in a solid purple light? Uh, hello. Uh, hello. Uh, hello Hello? I, I see. Yes, I can hear you clear. so just to clarify the light on the child node right now is it still solid purple and it's close to the parent node right now. All right
02:00
Speaker 1
Yes, you are. that's correct. Yes, I can. one moment. oh wow, that's easier said than done. it's got a bunch of things connected to it. okay, hold on. the reset so I need to all the way to the bottom you mean, yeah, that the reset button okay, all right. let me get a pen.
03:00
Speaker 2
Thank you so much and the email address is Khall0809@gmail.com. Thank you so much for confirming. So Kurt, can you go to the parent node? On the parent node, you're going to perform what we call the 5 press method. You're going to press, release, wait a second, press, release, wait a second, five times on its reset button. Yes.
03:00
Speaker 1
Okay. So what's this going to do to the connection of the other nodes? I mean, and the mother node is, you know, it's glle and all the other nodes are blue. So the the mother node or the the remote node? No, not really. It's uh well it's, you know, next to a Apple TV and really just an Apple TV.
04:00
Speaker 2
Just to also confirm, does this node gets surrounded by a lot of devices? The child node that's having the problem. I see. But is it also far away from other nodes or from the parent node?
04:00
Speaker 1
Wah- Well all of my nodes are are ethernet cable connected. So, um, you know, there's no There- there shouldn't be any connectivity issues as relates to wirelessness. Suh- suh- Suh- suh- Suh- Right, correct. TV and Apple TV and and it's ethernet connected. So, uh there was, I don't I, I had it. Go ahead. Uh, well, I mean, I haven't done the pressing yet. So, I'm sorry, run that by again what I'm supposed to do? Okay.
05:00
Speaker 2
All right. All right. Thank you so much for that one because one of the possible reasons if it's too much surrounded by devices, there is a possibility for it to get disconnected. But as you mentioned, it was just a TV. Nothing else. All right. All right. And since you did the five press method on the parent node, what's the light on the child node? It's what we call the five press method on the parent node. You're going to press release, wait a second, press release, wait a second, five times. [silence]
05:00
Speaker 1
Ah, okay. Okay. All right. Well, when we try to do that, then let's see here if I can. See, you just press release, press release. Okay, got it. All right. Press release, press release. Okay. All right. The note is white. Okay, just a moment. Okay, looks like we got solid blue now. [silence]
06:00
Speaker 2
Princess X and never for all the sound and office alright keep on observing it tell me if it turns back to solid blue er how about now?
06:00
Speaker 1
Uh well I haven't plugged it back in. So should I plug it back in and oh. it has to be plugged in. Okay, I see. All right so I'll try that again then. So does the child node need to be plugged in as well? Yes. Okay, then let me get get that going here. All right. Hey, bear with me.
07:00
Speaker 2
What about the child node? [silence] I see. So in order for the five press to work properly, the child node must be near the parent node. [silence] Yes and the light must be on solid purple before we do the five press. [silence]
07:00
Speaker 1
Okay, the child node is solid purple, so now I need to do the five press. Okay, all right. Okay. [silence] now. Okay. The child moved went orange, it's blinking orange now. Uh, the light is so solid blue on the parent okay, all right. And you're going to hang with me? Yeah. Okay. All right. Okay. Okay. Great.
08:00
Speaker 2
Now let's wait for three to five minutes until that child node stops flashing. What's the light on the parent node as well? Perfect. So, let's just wait for the child node to see if there's any changes. It usually takes around three to five minutes. Yes. We're going to be with you until the end. It is cheesy, but it is what it is. Prior to any of these problems that started, did you notice any kind of like Internet outage, dropping that may have caused this as well? I see. I see. Okay. So the node got disconnected on its own.
09:00
Speaker 1
Freddy Swanson: Ah, now it's solid blue. It did? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Now we'll... Yes. Freddy Swanson: Right, agreed. Now it's gone gone red again. [silence] Freddy Swanson: Solid red. Okay. All righty.
11:00
Speaker 2
The child node turned solid blue right now. Keep keep on observing it for a minute. Tell me if there's any changes. Uh solid red. All right. Just keep on observing it. Let's wait for one more minute to see if there's any changes. Uh
11:00
Speaker 1
As of right now, it's still just solid red. Yes, sir. Okay. Just so you know. Okay. Okay, he's so that little mode is reset. Go back to the app.
12:00
Speaker 2
All right, just confirm as of right now, there's still no changes. Still solid red, all right. This time, factory reset the child node one more time. Hold the reset button until the light goes out. Once the light goes out, you let go of the reset button. Next, open your Linksys smart Wi-Fi app and reboot your entire mesh system using the app. To reboot your mesh system, just click the three line,
12:00
Speaker 1
All right, hold on. Let me uh, so pull up the app. Okay, it's asking me to log in again. Okay, let me do that. Log in. Okay. Okay, so I have a uh, the page that comes up, it says restart router, restart network. Is that where you want me to do it or app? Uh well, I was but it uh I have a screen that came up and said restart router network.
13:00
Speaker 2
the scientist on the top left and find network administration,
13:00
Speaker 1
I am well my phone says I have five bars. What are the options? Oh, okay. Well, now that screen, now that screen went away. So here I am, I'm at the app. And so let's go back to what you were asking before. Okay. I am. That is correct. Very well. Yep.
14:00
Speaker 2
Double check if you're connected to the Wi-Fi. All right. What are the options right now to log into your app? Yes, if you're currently logged out, and needs to sign in, it should give you two options, email or your router password, right? All right. So you're now in the dashboard. Is that correct? all right. Click on the three lines at the top, left, find the option at the bottom that says network administration. Scroll down at the bottom inside of it till you find the option to restart your mesh.
14:00
Speaker 1
um, Devices, will this connect, yeah, I'll restart, okay, um [silence]
15:00
Speaker 2
we'll proceed in adding the child node again, but this time using the app after it's done rebooting properly. [silence]
15:00
Speaker 1
Well they're in different parts of the house. Um, um Well I could check the closest one. Uh, uh let's see.
16:00
Speaker 2
All right. Double check if all the nodes apart from the child node that's not working are all solid blue. How about the remaining time? We won't ... No, we won't just continue your pay support.
16:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, they seem to be here, at least a couple that I'm looking at seem to be bl blue, solid blue. Uh, one second. Yeah, parent notice sold blue, correct. Yeah, uh, seems to be done rebooting, but it says, um, well, my, the name of my network is Eden Oaks. It says Eden Oaks has no internet connection. Check that.
17:00
Speaker 2
Alright. And also the parent node is on a solid blue light, is that correct? That's correct. Thank you, Dave. Lastly, are you still able to enter your linksys app right now or is it done rebooting? Is it done rebooting? All right. [silence] I'm just going to try restarting or close and open your app.
17:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay, so I have a screen again that comes up and says restart router. We've encountered a problem. please use the button below to restart your network once network's back online, we'll try to fix the problem for you. So do I hit. I seem to be. Again, my phone says I have five bars. So and I'm right here by the router, the mother router. Okay. Now.
18:00
Speaker 2
Are you connected to the Wi-Fi right now? Because if you're currently kicked out from the app, it should
18:00
Speaker 1
OK, so that screen just went away. I didn't do anything. So now I have the, now I have the app. Home screen of the app and so now it is. Yes, that is correct. Yes. OK, do well again, I just, I did that and the screen popped up and said the restart router again. That is correct. Should I close out of the restart router or OK?
19:00
Speaker 2
give you the login options. alright. Alright, and you're in the home screen of the app and the child node is solid purple. Is that correct? Alright, now click on the three lines at the top left, one more time. Find the option at the very bottom that says setup a new product. On setup a new product, click that one and try adding nodes. So after you click setup a new product, that pop up showed up again. Is that correct? Yes. Try closing that one.
19:00
Speaker 1
Now I have another, another screen that says unexpected error has occurred try these options close, reopen the app number two reboot the router number three log out and log in again. Should I close that out of app? Okay. Okay, I get the same screen again, restart router. Okay. Okay. All right, so close out of that. Oops. Remove the app and leave app. [silence]
20:00
Speaker 2
You mentioned the your internet is working fine you've already rebooted, try closing, try closing the app and opening it again. This time try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
20:00
Speaker 1
[KEEP_UNCERTAIN] for the, and then go into the app store L5s. That's the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi management app, right? Yep. I'm going to download, open, allow. Okay, now it wants me to log in, so go ahead and do that, right? Ah. Yeah, good question. Let me look at my notes in a minute. I
21:00
Speaker 2
yes. Try logging in using the router password. Router password means it's asking for your admin password. Can you remember your admin password?
21:00
Speaker 1
Let's see. Admin password for router. Okay, got it. I see that. Whoa. I wasn't ready for that to happen. There we go. Okay. Uh, Let's see. Okay, login. [silence] Okay. So I'm now at the, um, internet, uh, I mean, the app, uh, homepage. It says I have zero devices, zero nodes. Yeah, correct. So, some, somehow the app, evidently, has lost its connection to all of my devices, including the mother node, I guess. Um, yeah, I've, yeah, then it says no devices connected to network. Okay. So, close the app and reopen it. Sorry? You're saying Okay.
22:00
Speaker 2
All right. Try the setup. It's a, zero devices, zero nodes. [silence] Try closing and opening the app to see if it will reflect. Yes. Close it entirely and reopen it.
23:00
Speaker 1
again I get this restart the router page that is correct right that is correct okay got it
24:00
Speaker 2
It still gives you the restart router page, is that correct? All right. If that's the case, it seems to be that your app has been linked back again, since you're getting the same issue or the same error. The child node is still near the parent node, is that correct? Try doing the five press method one more time. Press release, wait a second. Five times on the parent node.
24:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Parent node is solid blue and child node is, well, blinking orange. The app keeps blinking out of this restart writer page back to the homepage and then back to the restart writer page. Okay. Yeah, light niche channel is blinking red at this point. All righty.
25:00
Speaker 2
What's the light in the child note? All right. Let's wait again for three to five minutes until it's done.
26:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, basically. Yeah, it's a solid red at this point. It did. Yes. Correct. It is.
27:00
Speaker 2
[silence] Keep observing the light on the child node. Tell me if there's any changes. So um did it did it change to solid blue initially and then turn back to solid red? And it's still solid red right now. All right.
27:00
Speaker 1
[silence] Did my what? Oh. Okay. from the mother. Okay so. Yeah. Okay so. Okay. So uh all right so what do I do first then?
28:00
Speaker 2
In this case, there's a possibility that your topology currently is not working correctly. So, there's only two, your current links is. I'm sorry, your current Wi-Fi topology. Topology means your entire mesh network. One of your child nodes may be causing the disruption in adding the child node. So, in this case, you have two options right now. The first one is to unplug your child nodes, but leave the parent node and the problematic child node turned on, so you can just add it just between the parent node and that child node only. The second one is if it still would not work after that isolation process, you might need to consider a complete factory reset and reconfiguration from the start. So, let's go ahead and try the isolation first. Yes. From the mother to all the child nodes. That's a reset and reconfiguration.
28:00
Speaker 1
Oh man. Okay. Again, that's going to be, uh. Uh. They're all of them. Yeah, I know, but they're uh uh there's eight of them. Well, and now there's only seven, well, six including the excluding the other part. Um, okay. Uh but I can do that I guess. Um, yeah, all right. Okay. No other options besides that. Okay. that's about. Yeah, gotcha. Okay. Okay, so just turn the power off on all of the, uh,
29:00
Speaker 2
go ahead and turn off all the child nodes except for this one that's not working. just need to unplug them from the power. All right. uh, sorry, laptop available, we can also try adding it, but chances are it might turn to solid red again.
29:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, kind of a big house. Sorry. Okay. Okay. Um, I'm right at the last one here, so just a second.
33:00
Speaker 2
No worries there. Are all the child notes now disconnected? [silence]
33:00
Speaker 1
Okay, yeah. Now, they're all disconnected, so I need to get back to the the the data closet. So you're saying basically one of the other nodes could have affected affecting this node, huh? Yes, okay. Okay, let's Okay, so the mother node, it is solid blue, the only one, and the child node is still solid red. and then my,
34:00
Speaker 2
Factory reset the child node one more time. Hold the reset button until the light goes out, and keep on holding it until you see a solid blue light. Once that solid blue light shows up, you then let go of the reset button. All right. Is it done? Yes. Now, unplug the parent node from the power for 15 seconds and then plug it back in after.
35:00
Speaker 2
So wait for your parent node to turn back to a solid blue after it's done rebooting and a child node to turn to solid purple. [silence] [silence]
36:00
Speaker 1
Okay, uh, the mother is a solid blue, the light on the child is a solid purple.
37:00
Speaker 2
What's the light on the child node? [silence] Double check if your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi. once you're connected, uh, once you're connected, you're connected. All right. Uh, once you're successfully connected, then open your app from the start. Mhm.
37:00
Speaker 1
Oh, I got that payment. You may have that hit. Maybe I have a record on the... Yeah, I appreciate it. Yeah, hang on one second here. Multitasking. I can't read that. I'm sorry, ma'm. That's all right. One second. Visa ID. Yeah, that's it. [REDACTED_PAYMENT_DIGITS] Yep, that's it. [REDACTED_PAYMENT_DIGITS] charge right here as well. Very important. And then... Yeah, that took everything offline. Whatever you're doing, you'll get back online, yeah? Right. Yeah. Going through? It's taking its time. Oh, it's rainy. I know. That was... Weird that you're there. Okay. [silence]
39:00
Speaker 2
Open your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app.
40:00
Speaker 1
it says we've encountered a problem please use the button should I close out of that or or is that the problem okay yeah uh-huh okay now I'm on the the homepage it says no devices are connected to your Wi-Fi correct okay. let's go. uh all right Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay, plug additional nodes into power media. Did that. Next, make sure everything is finished, start up. Yep, load night is solid, node light is solid. Yes, looking for chocolate the kids.
41:00
Speaker 2
I see. Yes, try closing it. Are you able to close it out? There's no devices and there's no nodes Is that correct? All right. Just to also clarify, try adding a child node on set up a new product. We'll double check if it's able to detect the child node.
41:00
Speaker 1
I mean, why wouldn't, well, why wouldn't my devices show up? All the other devices. All the other nodes, I mean, in the app. Yeah. Gotcha. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Right. Right. I understand. Okay. [silence]
42:00
Speaker 2
There are two things for it. It's either the app is not recognizing your current networks. That's why it's not showing up all the information. The second one is it may be a possible UI error on the app itself. But we're just going to really confirm that by adding the child network.
42:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, just says, uh, looking for child notes. Uh, this could take up to a minute. it doesn't seem to be, uh, finding the child node. So you're saying maybe the app is not, um, on my network? I mean, could that be the issue? [silence] Okay.
43:00
Speaker 2
All right. On the app, what's the message right now when you're trying to add the child notes. Thank you. Yes.
43:00
Speaker 1
hmm. And how do we get it to the online network? I guess that's the question. Yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. Okay. Yeah, it sounds like we're pretty close to that already. Uh yeah, it just says it's still looking. So factory reset of the mother node, is that what you're saying? Oh, oh, okay. Well, yeah, but you would start with the mother node or. Yeah, gotcha. Okay. Okay.
44:00
Speaker 2
If it's still unable to detect the node. The last option right now is to consider a complete factory reset and set everything up from scratch. No on all of them. Yes, you will factor reset every single one, but you start from the parent node, and work your way up until the very last child node. The steps are basically the same. The app will also guide you to it.
44:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's still looking for the child node. I don't know. It kind of feels like there's something wrong with the app, yeah. Yeah. All right. So, I mean, it's still, it's been several minutes. No, still looking for the child node. Yeah. Yep.
45:00
Speaker 2
It's just a factory reset is a must needed at this point, since the app is no longer detecting it properly. [silence]
45:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, through the app. Yeah, yeah, okay. So I'm going to close the app out for now because it's not doing anything. Okay. Okay, so, so start with the mother. So I keep the with the power on, but I set the reset button, is that it? And I hold it until it go solid blue again. Okay. Let's see here.
46:00
Speaker 1
Okay, the mother node is solid blue. Okay. Yeah, the mother node is rebooting. [silence] Okay, now the mother knows solid pink, purple. I'm sorry, next to the, what now? Got it. All right. So Wi-Fi networks.
48:00
Speaker 2
Alright. Connect to the parent node's WiFi name. It should be either Linksys or Velop setup. [silence] Go to your WiFi list and connect to the Linksys setup WiFi name. [silence]
49:00
