V2 Grader Summary

The agent successfully resolved the mesh connectivity issue by guiding the customer through a factory reset of the parent node, the 5-press pairing method, and the reintegration of child nodes. All technical guidance provided aligned with KB documentation, though communication had minor gaps in organization and simplification. The customer confirmed full resolution with all devices online.

V1 Case Analysis

Customer reported Velop WHW01 mesh nodes showing solid blue but app displayed zero nodes/devices. Performed power-cycle, factory reset of parent node, reconfigured WiFi via http://myrouter.local, used 5-press pairing to re-add child nodes (after factory resetting each). All nodes restored to solid blue and devices online. Issue resolved.

Troubleshooting Steps
  • Power-cycled modem and router
  • Factory reset parent node (25-second reset)
  • Accessed router via http://myrouter.local and reconfigured WiFi settings
  • Factory reset child nodes
  • Used 5-press pairing method to re-add nodes
Key Observations
  • Agent ultimately used the correct 5-press pairing method for WHW01 to re-add child nodes, which resolved the mesh issue.
  • The call involved significant looping, repeated password confusion, and unclear instructions, reducing efficiency.
  • Customer struggled with app login and password handling, requiring multiple clarifications. Agent provided correct local access method after initial app-related confusion.
Positive Highlights
  • Correctly identified the need for a factory reset of the parent node after local access failed.
  • Successfully guided the customer through the 5-press pairing method to re-add child nodes, which is the correct procedure for WHW01.
  • Persisted through a complex, multi-node issue and ultimately restored full mesh functionality, confirming the fix with the customer.
  • Maintained a patient and supportive tone throughout a lengthy and technically challenging call.
Agent Errors / Gaps
  • Incorrectly stated that Linksys Smart Wi-Fi website/remote features are discontinued (local access remains supported for WHW01).
  • Provided confusing and contradictory instructions about router passwords (mixed 'ADMIN' vs 'admin' usage, causing login delays).
  • Failed to verify child node addition after 5-press pairing until prompted by customer, missing early confirmation opportunities.
  • Allowed repeated app login attempts after reconfiguration despite knowing app issues, instead of directing customer to use web interface for verification.

No, nothing can. I'll probably be at the hall. no, no. please. okay. [silence] Yeah, hi. I'm having a big problem with. I have a Win sevell up system. And I've had it for I've had it for many years. It's worked fine. And then um I bought a new a new um thing to be a child.
11:00
Speaker 2
[silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] you for calling Linksys. This is [Eppy]. How can I help you? Yes, sir. . .[silence] [silence] [silence] .[silence]
12:00
Speaker 1
And I hooked it up, and I thought I hooked it up. And now it just keeps telling me to reset it. It's not on the on the app. It's not finding any of the nodes. It just seems like the whole system failed. All my light switches and everything I have throughout the house that's connected to that Wi-Fi, nothing is connecting. There's no devices at all. There's something is very wrong. And I don't know. I keep resetting it and it's not it's not helping. Yeah. Mack me up. Very good.
13:00
Speaker 2
okay. okay. So, yeah, I just pulled up your record, sir. This is Stuart Machniak, N.A.Y.S. Yeah, yeah. And the email address is the still Mason HNAC@ gmail.com. So you have a W-Chester D klaas. You mentioned that you want, you purchased a new
13:00
Speaker 1
Right, and I was having trouble doing that and I wound up doing that by connecting it via wire to the main node. And then that didn't work great. And then I connected it to the main child node that I have and then that worked. It became the light blue solid. And then I disconnected that and I moved it to where I wanted it to be. And my main node and the child nodes now all have solid blue, but when I go into the app, it says that I have zero nodes and zero devices. It keeps telling me to reset and I keep resetting it and nothing's happening. I just want it to go back to the way it was.
14:00
Speaker 2
[KEEP_UNCERTAIN] child node, you wanted to add it to your existing network, mesh network, is that right? Okay, well, on your, on your phone, are you still, are you still seeing your node as well? I cannot find, oh, yes, I am. I'm actually seeing the entire mesh network. The issue is that it doesn't seem to be experiencing an upgrade at all yet. There's no indicator, and also, that one is still active, but it doesn't appear to be upgraded. If I click on it, it'll go straight to the router page. It says my connection is at its most optimal. So, all the nodes are running at their best current performance. Which is an indicator that they're not running at their best current performance. Could the reason it doesn't happen, like the upgrade, is it because it doesn't happen with the new nodes? For example, the child node, does that ever get an upgrade, or does an upgrade only target the gateway? If I want to upgrade my network other nodes, do I have to manually do that myself to make it work? But, do I have to manually upgrade the nodes? Yes, you do. You will have to do so individually. So, if you're connected to the bridge node, that's the equivalent of the gateway.
14:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. I see, I'm looking to see now. I see the network. I can connect to the network on my phone. Um, I, I, I don't know that it's uh working. But when I go into the app, it says zero devices and zero nodes. and when I go into my home app, which is where I see all my light switches and everything that normally is connected, and it says no response on everything. Many times.
15:00
Speaker 2
our, when you go to Wi-Fi on your phone? Because right now, all all of the lights are blue, right? It's solid blue, the parent node is solid blue. Yes. Mhm. okay, have you tried closing and reopen the app? Close, just close it totally. Yes, and reopen it. When you, when you access your app, when you log into your account, are you using your linksys smart Wi-Fi account? or you're using the [silence]
15:00
Speaker 1
when I log in, well, I keep going back in to the app and I don't know it's in my password. I can tell you what's in there. No, that's okay. I'm I'm here. Yeah. I'm in my I'm in my home now. And I logged in with the password that the Stuart Mack at gmail.com is my username.
16:00
Speaker 2
Yeah, just to search predictions, Sir Stuart, the link's a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi website is no longer available. That has been disconnected. So, the remote feature of the link's Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is already discontinued, okay? So, if you're outside your network, if you're outside your home, you won't be able to access your router. So, the only way for you to be able to access it, [silence] [silence]
16:00
Speaker 1
Okay. um. and with my password so that's what I'm, yeah. So, so I have to, I have to log out so right. How do I log, could I be using the app or the. Okay. Okay. Hold on right now I went back in and it tells me it's getting my router settings. But why would, why would all of the light switches and devices I have not connect. um.
17:00
Speaker 2
Okay. All right. Can we, can we not use your username and password? Because, again, um, yeah, that has been discontinued. You might, you might encounter issues with that. So, what we, what are we gonna, uh, what are we gonna be doing right now is we will use the router password to log in. So, just sign out from your links to Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account. Yes. You need to log out. Um, do you, do you see account option? Yeah, just use the app. When you open up the apps, if you go to account, you should be able to log out from there. [silence] Um, I don't know if it messes up with the, uh, with your accounts.
17:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay, so I'm back on the login. So I'm back on the login screen. You want me to go with router password instead? Yeah. Yeah, okay. Hold on. Let me just find my password.
18:00
Speaker 2
But, uh, you know, this is when you access the, the, uh, Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, um, using your username and password. That could have changed. Um, it could, um, maybe it, it refreshed the network settings or something. That's why it did not detect any device. Okay, your, your, password, yes. Just log in using router password. And make sure you are connected to your network, okay? Not to your, um, to another network or something. [silence]
18:00
Speaker 1
First under one of your node the recovery key it wants. Okay, hold on. I need to where where is that? It's on the bottom. Oh, I see. Hold on. I need to I just need to take a picture of it so I can see. 88123 app. Okay, let's try that. 88123. Okay, the account holder will be notified if this password is changed. Okay, continue. I don't want to speak. it's to the yeah I could just use it says I have to change it could it be the password I've been using for the should it be the Yahoo password I just have to create a new password okay so can I use the password I used for the app before okay okay okay now it says it's getting the router settings
19:00
Speaker 2
Yes, you need to create a new admin password, sir. No, that is a, that's not the Wi-Fi password. That's a different one. So you may actually just create any password. Yes, any any password will do. Yes.
21:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Still says zero devices, zero nodes. And then it keeps telling me unexpected error has occurred. And it wants me to restart the network. Yeah. Now after I signed in, then it told me unexpected error and wants me to restart the router. It says we've encountered a problem, please use the button below to restart your network. Once your network's back online, we'll try to fix the problem for you. But I've done this like countless times. Uh, yeah. unplug the power cord. Oh!
22:00
Speaker 2
Unexpected error. That is when you change the password, right, when you try to sign in? Okay, can we unplug, I mean, can we reboot everything, sir? Unplug first the power of your modem, I mean, unplug the the parent node, and then the the modem.
22:00
Speaker 1
The modem. Unplug the modem. You said? OK. So now the modem is unplugged. I have four, including the new one, because one of the old ones I thought stopped working. I had two that just plugged into the wall. You know, they were the little ones that plug into the outlet. And one of them seemed to stop working, so I bought a new, uh, new node that was like a shorter, it's a shorter version of the nodes I have. So I have two of the tall ones, one short one, and I have one that plugs into the wall. And now I have four.
23:00
Speaker 2
Yes. Yes, and then the modem, yes. So how many nodes? Yeah, we'll wait for one minute before we plug it back in. How many nodes you have in total right now? So you have four including the new one, right? Yeah. Shall I have the model number and the serial number of that new node? You know that you could, I
23:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. I didn't plug anything back in yet. You want me to? Okay. Let's see. So plugging. All right. I just plugged the modem back in. While that's rebooting, I'm going to give you the serial number of the new child node that I got.
24:00
Speaker 2
Yeah, it's okay. Uh, just plug in the modem first, and then wait for the lights to stabilize before you plug in the uh, the parent node back. Make sure that the modem is solid, they're all solid. So you have Verizon FIOS as your internet provider, is that right?
24:00
Speaker 1
so the new actual number okay the new node node is it is 25 M like Frank one one M M like Mary three two D like boy zero zero five three zero is also what?
25:00
Speaker 2
This. This the soft. So let me just, uh, let me repeat that, if I get it right. It's 25 Ephesians Frank one, one M. Like Mary three, two B and boy zero, zero, five, three, zero. Okay. Also, it's also W H W zero one. Okay. Also a W H W, the model number. Yes. All right, so is the modem now, um, rebooted is it powered on. [silence]
26:00
Speaker 1
The so the the light that light for the cable that's going in is solid and the other two lights are the occasionally flash green. No I didn't. No.
27:00
Speaker 2
all right, so the modem now has solid lights, right? The online light is solid. Okay, so. Okay, so now kindly power on the front node. Did you interchange the cable earlier? Sir, did you change cables or something with the friends node? Or you did not move anything.
27:00
Speaker 1
I didn't move. I at one point unplugged one cable and then plugged it back in, but I only did one, not more than one. And I left the one that was the main. It's one of the Ethernet points, the one on the left, that one on the top left. Correct. Correct. Okay. It's right now flashing the darker blue. I'm sorry for a minute.
28:00
Speaker 2
Okay, I just want to make sure that. so the modem right now, the one from AT&T is connected to the parent node to which port? The one on the left, above the reset button. Is that right? Okay. Okay, so we'll just wait for the solid blue light on the parent node.
28:00
Speaker 1
Okay. It's the solid blue. No, it's now solid blue. Yes. Where do you want me to go? I have a computer that runs on windows, yes?
29:00
Speaker 2
Okay, so is it still blinking? Solid blue? Okay, can we go to your computer user store? Check first if you're connected to the network. Check if you're connected to the network first. Is your computer running on Windows? Okay. All right. So now, can we click on the wireless icon at the bottom right hand and check if you're connected to your network.
29:00
Speaker 1
Um, It looks like it. I think so. I think so, yeah. Yeah. Um, I don't have chrome. I have Edge. Can I use Edge? It hold on one second, I'm sorry. [silence]
30:00
Speaker 2
connected to your network so it has a check mark on the under your name okay so let's try to access okay let's open up a browser okay google chrome do you have google chrome okay that's fine all right then on the address bar not the search but the address bar type in HT ht
30:00
Speaker 1
Okay, you over in the address bar, HHTP, okay, it says link this why am I getting a warning when I try to access my routing setters my routing advance and [silence] continue advanced okay now it says blinking oh it says access lamp enter the router password so which password is that no I didn't change it this the router password is the same as what I was using in my passwords [silence]
31:00
Speaker 2
Yes, continue. And then just proceed if you see there, proceed option. Okay. So it's asking for a router password. When you set up the router before, did you happen to change the router password or you cannot recall? By default, the router password is ADMIN. Can we try that? If that doesn't work, let's just reset the router password instead.
32:00
Speaker 1
That did not work, it sent me to, it told me to come back, it came back to the sign-in. Okay. I need to re-look at that again. Okay.
33:00
Speaker 2
did it work? Okay. Then reset password. That will ask for the recovery key. So again, it's underneath the parent node. [silence]
33:00
Speaker 1
περίεργα, περίεργα, εντάξει. [silence] admin password hint. what do you want me to put in now? So, do you want me to create a password? for it? Okay. Does it need to be like anything fancy or no? Like, does it need a number or anything like that?
34:00
Speaker 2
Okay, yes, yeah, it's asking you to create a new router password, sir. Yes, sir. That's right. Well, it can be combination. I think it's combination of numbers and letters. Uh, there should have, uh, one capital letter.
34:00
Speaker 1
We've encountered an unexpected error if the issue continues, please visit our technical support site. I just said okay. Now my screen is blank like navy like blue. [silence]
35:00
Speaker 2
Okay, all right. Okay, Sir Stewart. I think there's a need for us to. How about this one? Can we unplug the the modem from the back of your parent node? Yes, because if we can,
35:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so I took the cable that goes from the modem into the router and disconnected it from the router side. Okay, yes, and now what am I doing? [silence] Okay, so I took the cable that goes from the modem into the router and disconnected it from the modem side.
36:00
Speaker 2
Hey, I cannot access the page here, because I think we had the same error when we tried to access it using the Linksys app. So, we will try to disconnect the modem from the system and we will access the page without the modem. We will see if we can access it because if not, we have no other choice but to reset this device to factory default. Yes, just disconnect it for the meantime, okay? So, once the modem is disconnected, we won't be able to get internet, then that's fine, okay? We'll just leave it disconnected. Um kindly go back to your computer. Okay, um kindly go back to your screen, open Microsoft Edge again.
36:00
Speaker 1
And that's with an S or with no S. H T T P or H T T P S. Okay. And I got this. I have to, I have to, uh, uh, continue. My connection was interrupted. Okay. Refresh. It says, it comes back to that message we've encountered an unexpected error, unexpected error. Two, one, two, three. Yes. [silence]
37:00
Speaker 2
And go back to that page, uh, http://myrouter.local. No... No S. [silence] Yes, continue. [silence] It's still unexpected error. Okay. All right, yeah. Um, we're actually aware of this issue sometimes, uh, with, with this particular model, the
37:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, I do, I do. I have apologize. Yeah. yeah. Yeah. Yeah. hmm, let me just write down one day. I want the name. I just wanna make sure I get it exactly right.
38:00
Speaker 2
one on. We have this issue we call it a known okay, but yeah, the only work working around is to set your parent node to factory defaults. But let me just ask, do you have a copy of your Wi-Fi settings like do you know your Wi-Fi name and the Wi-Fi password? You have a copy of that, okay. So we'll just have to reset your okay, yeah, so it's like we're starting from scratch here. So let's just press and hold the reset button on the parent node for um 25 seconds.
38:00
Speaker 1
Okay. So now I'm gonna hold it down for how long? Hit the reset for how long? Okay, I just started. Okay, I think that's 25 seconds, right? Go back up. Yeah, I have the blue the dark blue light is now flashing. Solid purple. Now, should I plug the the cable, back into the modem? I right so flashing blue.
39:00
Speaker 2
Yes, by the way, sir, when you press the reset button, just make sure that the light on top turns off and the blue light comes on. Were you able to do that? The blue light is flashing. Okay. So after the reset, sir Stuart, the normally, the the light should turn solid purple. Okay. So we'll just wait for that to turn solid. Yes. Yes, please.
40:00
Speaker 1
Let's give him a minute. When we're done with this as the parent, will the child nodes automatically reconnect? Okay, it's okay, it's purple now. So what do I do now? [silence]
41:00
Speaker 2
Well, if we set up the same Wi-Fi settings then your solid node should be able to reconnect. But if not then we need to reset them. It's purple. Okay. Sir Stewart, can we uh move your child nodes close to the parent node? Are we able to do that? Can we gather all the child nodes in one place? So we can just step this up uh one time. Okay.
41:00
Speaker 1
them just need to grab the third be okay how close to they need to be the
43:00
Speaker 2
Okay, good. They're all plugged in. [silence] Okay. So can we go to your computer first? Oh by the way, before we do that, can we please take a picture of the Wi-Fi settings at the bottom of your parent node?
45:00
Speaker 1
the what what settings? oh oh the one in the bottom on the um where where I got the the recovery key from. yeah I have that. I have the name and password. I have that. I already took a photo of that. yeah OK. yes. That would be in the settings? the wi-fi? networks? because I don't see the searching for networks show available network [ silence ]
46:00
Speaker 2
the Wi-Fi settings. Try to look at the bottom of it. There's actually the Wi-Fi name and the Wi-Fi password. Just take a picture of that first. Parents node. Yes. The parents node, the main one. Oh, you already have a copy of that. Okay. Oh, okay. Very good. So now, Ser Stuart, can we go to your computer and uh, click on the wireless icon? Check if you see that network name, Villa or Villa Setup. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, oh, . Yes. The Wi-Fi network. What is the Wi-Fi network? What did it show?
46:00
Speaker 1
Al Velo setup. Yeah, Velo set up. Okay. Connect to that. It did. Yeah. Okay. I'm not going to do it. Should I do it connect automatically or no? Check that box. Okay, right, enter the password. So I need this. Okay. F1 are
47:00
Speaker 2
show there. Okay, so yes, is is it the same name? Did it match? [no audio] Okay, so just please uh select that and then hit connector. It will ask you for the password. So it's the wi-fi password, underneath the caret. Yes, Disconnect Nomadically. That's okay. [no audio] [silence]
47:00
Speaker 1
J G Q. J H T. next. Okay, it says, "action needed, no internet," but I think I'm connected now. Yes. Okay, so what are we doing?
48:00
Speaker 2
Okay, so it says connected, right? Okay, so you're connected to the network. So now, Sir Stuart, um yeah, since the uh the this parent node is uh set to factory default. We'll just have to do a five press on that. Okay? So to perform the five press, just press the reset button at the, at the bottom five times. Okay? Just press it once. Okay, do it five times. Do not press and hold it. Just press it one at a time.
48:00
Speaker 1
0K, OK. And now the purple turns it looks like white or pink, light pink. [silence] And the other note. by the way, are like flashing red. And one of them, I actually, the one that wasn't working, which is a wall one and plugged that in and that one is purple. but the other three are flashing red. and now the one, it's now flashing white. The parent node is flashing white. Now it's and it just turned blue, solid blue. Okay. [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] Uh, okay, I still have to bypass this uh, particular page. I'm gonna say don't show me that again. Uh, okay, now it says access developer, wants the password.
49:00
Speaker 2
rob setup. So just open Microsoft Edge and type that, uh, address again, H T T P colon slash slash myrouter.local. Let's try to access that again. Hopefully this time you were able, uh, we should be able to log it in. Okay, by default, since we reset the spare node, just type in admin, A d m i N all lowercase. [silence]
51:00
Speaker 1
Now it says update my password. Not now, because it, it saved it, yeah, it saved the other password. Okay. So, yeah, it is. That is correct. Yeah, yeah, I did. Okay, so now I have a dashboard that says device list guest access on the left Wi-Fi right router settings. Yeah, okay.
52:00
Speaker 2
Is it asking you to create? Oh, I think that's for your Microsoft Edge. It's a password manager. Yeah, you can actually just cancel that or something. Close it. Okay, so are we able to sign in? Okay. All right. All right, great. Now, down at the bottom right, sir, kindly check if you see their CA option. It's right beside Privacy Policy. Try to scroll down, because the letters are really small. So, beside privacy policy, it's on blue text.
52:00
Speaker 1
i have it says license agreement privacy statement third third party license and then it says yeah that's or I don't know sea okay okay Now it says Wi-Fi name. I want to go back to what I used to name it. No, it was just one name.

party licenses, privacy policy, do you see CA there? No CA? Okay. All right. So if there's no CA, just go to wifi settings. Mm-hmm. So um Yes, that is correct. Did you just set up one name? Or you separate the bands? Just one name, okay. All right, so you can just type in your wifi name there and the wifi password.
53:00
Speaker 1
One thing I told them. Okay, and then everything else just leave as it is. Oh, I need to change it. So I need to change it for the five gigahertz band and the five gigahertz Z band. need to make them all the same. I didn't select anything show more or show us. do I change it for all of the Wi-Fi names? and same password, right?
54:00
Speaker 2
did you did you select show more the show less well okay you don't have that option yeah you can actually uh set up the same name for all of the answer yes [silence]
55:00
Speaker 1
Okay and then just say apply or okay. Router is applying changes. May cause temporary loss of connectivity. Okay. Router not found. You are not connected to your router. oh I see yeah and it says connected yeah it's connected I think so because it didn't ask me to put them in and the computer knew this Wi-Fi um
56:00
Speaker 2
the Wi-Fi on your computer, click on the wireless are you able to see your network? Okay, so it's now connected it's reconnected back right it didn't ask you to put in the password anymore. Does it have a check mark under your name? Okay, so did it bring you back to the same Wi-Fi settings or it's still router not sound?
57:00
Speaker 1
on a MAC Wi-Fi network. It says connected secured. I do. So they're all flashing red. Yeah. Should I close the edge? That way. I did all those. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
58:00
Speaker 2
do you still have the Wi-Fi settings? Yes. Do you still have the Wi-Fi settings page open? Okay. All right. So can we check the child nodes right now, sir? They're all flashing red. Okay, so we'll just wait for around two to three minutes for them to reconnect. Okay. No, just leave it open. Just leave it open cuz in case one of your nodes won't connect, so we'll just have to add them manually.
58:00
Speaker 1
quite a job. I could not have done this on my own. Thank you. Okay, I have time right now and I'd rather do it now. It's interesting because all three tied nodes are still flashing red but the the parent node is solid blue. Okay. The fact that my computer automatically connected means that I set it up properly, right? Because it knew that it was the right password and me. Right. Still flashing red, just so you know. And one of them is purple. I think that's the one that I had the problem with that was replacing, so I don't really need it, but the other three are all still flashing red. I can say, okay, on where I changed the network name and I, and the password, right? Yeah, okay. [silence] all three. Yep. What do we do? All three child nodes. The only one that's blue. Yeah, so the only one that's blue is the parent node and the three child nodes are still [silence]
59:00
Speaker 2
It's still flashing for two nodes, two child nodes, right? It's still flashing red right now. What do you mean all three? The read. The. OK. You have four nodes in total, right?
62:00
Speaker 1
So flashing road. That's a fourth one, cuz that was an extra one, extra. I mean, if I can get that one to work, that would be great. I just got a message on the computer screen that says unexpected error. Okay. Yeah, I have three child nodes I was using and remember I bought the one new one because one of the old ones I thought was broken. And that one is still, that one is purple at the moment. We don't have to worry about that one. Okay, I'll do one at a time, right? [silence]
63:00
Speaker 2
Okay, you mentioned that you have one purple, below note. uh you may just close that. Okay, all right. Um, since right now it's still blinking, uh, no progress, so we'll just have to reset all three child nodes to factory defaults, okay? So press and hold the reset button for 25 seconds, just like what we did on the parent node.
63:00
Speaker 1
I keep getting this unexpected error message it keeps popping up, I keep saying okay, I'm sorry, yeah, but it keeps coming back. Okay, is that enough for the first one? That was 25 seconds, right? Okay, but one of them might Okay. I did all three nodes for 25 seconds. Uh... So two of them are flashing blue, and one of them is solid red. Will it tell me on this dashboard when I get it? other Okay, so we'll wait for that. Yeah, okay. I'll wait until you and strike. Okay, one of them is solid red ish-I guess. One of them is solid. It looks like the same color like the purple. And one- and one is still flashing blue. And the one that's still flashing blue is the last one that I reset. And now- and now it's solid red or pink as well. [silence]
64:00
Speaker 2
Yes, when once we're done with this setup, um you just need to access to the uh settings, it's actually in the device list, you would be able to see there the the nodes connected. So, we will see that later on. Okay, so just let me know if the if the child nodes are all solid.
67:00
Speaker 1
So they're all solid light purple. Yeah. On the parent. um, Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I did that five times. Um, And the others are still solid pinkish purple. And the parents They are not like, [silence]
68:00
Speaker 2
Okay, so now, yes, okay. So now what we're going to do next is we're going to do a five press again on the parent node. All right? So press, release, press, release, press, release, do it five times. That would be on the parent node search. Yes. You can only do that, the five press on the parent, not on the Child. [silence] It's not blinking. The Child
68:00
Speaker 1
okay No No They are not The parent and is blue Again I did it again And the others are still all solid They're not blinking No change Yes. Yes. I got that. Under connectivity opens is just a blank screen. And I keep getting this unexpected error 2123 statement. Okay. To close
69:00
Speaker 2
no.
70:00
Speaker 1
Window and opportunity. Okay. Okay. It won't time out. Router password. Which I know what that is. I'll still be never to not remember. I did. And I'm back in. Okay. And now go to connectivity. [silence] Okay. And.
71:00
Speaker 2
And then just go back, yes. Close everything down. Just close it out completely and open a new window, a new browser, and go back to http colon slash slash my router dot local. admin. Oh, did you did you did it ask you to create a password earlier when you type in admin or it did not? I don't I don't think it did ask. Yeah, just type in admin.
71:00
Speaker 1
Did you want me to go to connectivity? connect activity? Okay. Okay. Okay. I clicked it, but nothing. Uh, okay. It says it came back up. One of them is. Uh.
72:00
Speaker 2
I'm sorry, what was that again? Yes, go to connectivity and click on C.A. router setup. And then click on add wireless child note. It takes time, we'll just wait for it. Check the child nodes if they're blinking. Check the lights on the child notes if it's blinking, please. Okay, yes. So we'll just wait for it. Check the child like if they're blinking. Okay, I see the lights on the child notes are blinking. So in what range should the blinking number be? seconds. Okay. It should blink 9 to 10 times constantly. Okay.
72:00
Speaker 1
It's a long time. no flashing. No, just the one. [silence] they're all flashing now. Is that good? Up, one of them just turned blue. Yes, one of them just turned blue. Let's see if the other's then blue. Oh, the one that was blue just turned solid red. It went, uh, up, wait. It was flashing red and then it went to solid red and now it's back to solid blue. Now it's solid blue. And a second one is now solid blue. So two of them are solid blue. Yeah. And so Oh, okay. I'm waiting for another one. Okay. I think uh, the only one that's still flashing red is the fourth child node, which was the extra that I thou- thawg it wasn't working anymore. And I replaced it, but maybe it's, maybe that's connecting too. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's okay. Okay, all four are now blue. So now what do I do with the dashboard? Done adding child notes or apply? Okay, I clicked on that, it's just I need to wait.
74:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Very good so they're all online. Okay. Yes you may click on, you may click apply, it's okay. Just click apply and then okay. And if you want to check the device list, you can actually go to device list. You would be able to check the connected device.
77:00
Speaker 1
OK, one. OK, I have the parent and four children. And then I have a bunch of other devices, which I assume are all my other, my ring doorbell. Everything is online. OK. So, I think I'm good. Yeah. [silence]
78:00
Speaker 2
Okay, yes, we're actually all online right now. So as you can see on their device list, everything is there. All the child nodes are there. So you may, once the child nodes are connected, then you can relocate them back to where it was before. So just make sure that you do it one at a time. So do the first child node, the one which is near to the parent node, make sure that is solid blue first, and then work on the second child node, and then so on and so forth.
78:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. Should you, I could do that without you? You're confident? Yeah, I would. Just, uh, as long as I have you, since I waited for you, and you've been so nice and helpful, and I think, I think it'll just take a couple of more minutes, uh, to do that. Okay, the one closest is plugged in now. I just have to wait for it to turn blue. And I'll get ready with the next one in the meantime. I can unplug another one, right?
79:00
Speaker 2
okay alright so yeah do you want to do it right now since you have me on the line okay yes make sure first it's solid blue okay um yeah cause it takes time to uh for the light to spin make sure you take that little like paper the card the pyramid card okay Got it. Return receipt should be in case it says take it. Okay. You have to write your name. Oka. Oh, you know what?
79:00
Speaker 1
So let's wait for the one that I just relocated. It's now flashing. [silence] [silence] [silence] the first one is now back to blue. So now I can do the next one, right? [silence] [silence] Okay. The second child node is plugged in. I just gotta wait for it to turn the bright blue. will I be able to go back and use that app to see the nodes and the devices in the future? Okay. Which is that routed password that I set up that was new, as opposed to the admin password? I guess they're separate, right?
80:00
Speaker 2
yes uh yeah sure sure no problem later on uh once the nodes are back online once you have it relocated you may open the app just use the uh router password to login uh it should be admin i think it's admin since uh you did not say.
83:00
Speaker 1
Something. Okay. It's definitely, it's flashing blue. Now it's flashing red. It's on its way to the solid, lighter blue. Now this one, the second child that I plugged in is the, the brand new one. Which I'm okay having an extra. Always good to have an extra. I'll tell you, these have, besides this particular incident, they have, uh, they have worked well for several years. As you now Okay. Solid blue. So let's get the next one. We're on a. The last one except I have the one I thought was. Well, I have an extra one now because I had one that I thought was broken, that turns out was not broken. So, I bought an extra one and I'm going to keep it. Okay, that'll just make everything stronger. Right? [silence] Okay. I can't... I can't speak today. What did you say? I was holding for you to... Ah! I can't speak. No, it's all right. Someone never comes in here, and then they give up without I don't know what's wrong with them. And then they say it's okay and hang up around here. That describes them bang on. that's how it happens. ... it's amazing how many devices get connected that once it, it goes down you're at, at a loss. Nothing works. Yeah, there's the modem, right of course. And I have the ability to connect directly to the modem. But I, I prefer to use the, the Linksys Velop mesh. It's much stronger 'cause they distribute all these around the house. Okay. It's flashing blue. ...
84:00
Speaker 2
if the parent goes down, actually everything else goes down. So if that happens, make sure that your modem is working. It's the main source of your internet is the modem.
86:00
Speaker 1
And now let's flash red and then turn solid blue. Now it's flashing red, so we're in the home stretch here. solid blue just one more quick one what's your name, by the way? Appie. Appie. And so patient and helpful, Appie. I really appreciate it. I'm sure that I'm sure this is what you do. Well, I'm not so uh and it's so hard. I think it's hard for you to do it because you can't see what I'm doing. So it makes it challenging. So it, okay. The last one is. [silence]
87:00
Speaker 2
My name is F.P. Yeah. No, not a problem. I'm just here. I'm used to it. Oh, yes, I understand. Yes. So we're just visualizing or just, you know
88:00
Speaker 1
Uh, plugged in and uh, it has to go to, from solid blue to flashing blue to flashing red. So I'll keep you updated. Uh, Okay. Okay, it's now flashing blue. Uh, Still flashing blue. Now it's flashing red. Yeah. It arrived, I bought it Friday and it arrived on Sunday. So Friday was July 10th. I bought it on Amazon. I bought it on July 10th. It was delivered on July 14th. Yeah, I do. [silence]
89:00
Speaker 2
This new child note that you purchased, sir, do you happen to know the exact date of purchase for that? So you bought it July 10th, okay. [silence] Yeah, you still have the receipt, right? [silence]
90:00
Speaker 1
And I think I gave you the Social Security number for it right so the serial number I'm at. Huh. Yeah. That was purchased on July 2. Yeah. I'm looking right now at the receipt. Hold on as I bought it on Amazon. Or to place July 10th, delivered July 12th. and now, the last one is, uh, it's solid blue. So, now, if I go to the link, this app, I open that up, and do that real fast, uh, as fast as it will, it will allow. you still spinning trying to find the router settings yes it says getting router settings oh it was not the correct network I just checked that because when everything was resetting it connected directly to the the modem. Should I close and go back in? It says loading. Okay, loading the setup experience. Terms and conditions agree. if you want me agree, do I have to work with you? That's weird. It won't let me agree to that. Go back in again. Ready to complete setup. It's taking me through like some brand new thing to set up I. Don't have to reset my notes. It's like taking me through a whole. Thing so like reset everything I don't want to do that. That I'm going to. Yes. Don't. So what do we? Yeah, I closed it. I did. Um, no. No. No. No. No. So, manage your Wi-Fi instead of set up a new. So if I go manage. Oh, now it wants my email address and password. I do. Yes. Stop.
91:00
Speaker 2
Can't we close the app? [silence] [silence] Um cuz it should load [silence] the settings right away. Can't we close the app? [silence] Close the app. Totally close it. [silence] Yes. And uh is there an option for you to log out from that account or something? [silence] No, uh, no option. Uh, do you have the option to login using the router password instead? [silence] Okay, let's do that. Just type in admin. [silence]
96:00
Speaker 1
When I say router password, it says, set up below the experience. It wants me to do a setup. New. That's weird. Yes.
97:00
Speaker 2
it's trying to run the setup okay uh sir can we close the app and then on your phone um try to turn off the Wi-Fi and then turn it back on
97:00
