Hi. We have a Linksys router and it stopped working and I have the serial number. We actually have two routers. The first one's working. The second one is not. It just, it won't turn green and we've unplugged it for 10 seconds and I actually worked with Spectra [silence]

[silence] Hi, thank you for calling inside this it's G. How can I help you today? [silence] I'm sorry, uh what do you mean by not working uh sir? Like is it busted or defective? [silence]
00:00
Speaker 1
And everything else works okay, except for one router, and it just turns red, it doesn't turn green, it doesn't Doesn't work. Right, everything else works, except for this one router. Okay. 20, J as in Juliet, 20, M as in Mike, 33, B as in Bravo, 24534. And I have a model number and a Mac address too.
01:00
Speaker 2
Mhm. Mhm. Okay, got it. so you have Internet connection through the other node right? I see. got it. I see. I have Sir, the serial number of that node, please. Okay. M network is it 33 B is the password 1 8 1 9 2 2 3 8 2 4 5 3 for got it. Let me just check on the exact unit okay.
01:00
Speaker 1
Um, sure. It's seven one six, 6556854. Yeah. Yeah, it's Dr. Jon Sturb. Physician house calls at Roadrunner.com. House calls, so it's P-h-y-s-i-c-i-a-n and then house calls H-O-U-S-E-C-A-L-L-S at roadrunner.com.
02:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Before we proceed with the troubleshooting, sir, or checking on that unit, may I have your phone number just in case you get disconnected? Mhm. Uh-huh. Mhm. Uh-huh. Am I speaking to Mr. John Soba? Okay. May I also have your email address, sir? Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I'm sorry, position. House calls. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
02:00
Speaker 1
Right. Red. I don't remember. I think it was flashing and then it went to steady red. But when you when you try to hook it up, it gives a very faint, a nice blue color that fades in and out. And then it goes black, and then it goes red solid. Um, I'm not sure what you mean. No.
03:00
Speaker 2
okay got it thank you so what i have here uh what uh your device is it shows that this is a WHW03 and you have two nodes okay so um what's the light right now sur on the device on the node study or flashing okay i don't know what to say that okay um I see how did you try adding this back to your not work sure um did you use the app or uh the interface.
03:00
Speaker 1
No, I just, it was just plugged in upstairs. The, the first node, um, is actually plugged into the Ethernet and then it has electric wire going to it and that has that nice green color and it works. Uh, this one just gets plugged in upstairs far away, uh, with nothing else put in, so I'm not too sure what you're asking. Um, right now it's on my desk, the power cord is upstairs to the back of the house and that's where we had it before. And what I noticed over the past few days before it just stopped working was the, the light on top appeared to be maybe orange, kind of a yellowish orange and we were not getting a good signal to the back of the house and then it just went red.
04:00
Speaker 1
Okay, uh, and leave the leave the primary node plugged into the Ethernet so that they link up together. Is that how that works? Oh, I see what you mean. So it's not broken, it just needs to be added back in. uh, okay, I'm going to have to run upstairs to get the power cord. So can you hang out a little bit? Okay, great. Thanks very much. [silence]
05:00
Speaker 2
orange lights here on the node means uh it it is uh weak okay so i will ask you sir to bring this node closer to your parent node uh less than a meter away from from it from each other yes yes sir uh the child node sir just plug it in right next less than a meter away from the parent because uh we will add it back to your network and yep yes sir yes yes no no worries sir just take your time you're welcome sir
05:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I've got to, find a spot to actually plug in the power cord. Okay.
07:00
Speaker 2
okay make sure that it's right next or less than a meter away from the parents
07:00
Speaker 1
Okay, it's about two feet away, and it's making a light, very faint blue color. It's constant, and now it's going in and out, blue to dark. Okay. So, these, I did press the reset button. It didn't help. 10 seconds, but I didn't have it right next to the other node. [silence]
08:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Okay. sir let's give it the time to but up let me know sir if it turns back to steady Red. Okay. Yes, sir. I see. How long sir? 10 seconds. Okay, that's okay sir. That's okay. let's just wait until it shows again a steady uh red light on the top.
08:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Um, these are, these are called, routers, right? Listen. Yeah, I actually wrote that down with a magic marker on it. And um, is uh, we're not getting the best signal from these nodes, and I was wondering is there anything more powerful or are these okay? It's constant red, constant red. Yeah. So, to replace these how expensive is it to replace these, two?
09:00
Speaker 2
it says our routers, sir, but this can also be called as nodes. The one connected to your Spectrum box, that's your parent node. The one that is second one or the secondary node is your child node. Okay. Right now, OK. Regarding the questions, if there are more upgraded devices. Yes, we do have already a Wi-Fi seven. on a Wi-Fi six, those can provide a wider coverage, a seamless connection.
09:00
Speaker 1
okay. Now, if we if we did change the linksys parent linksys parent node to a more upgraded one, does it have to be a linksys node in order to use the child linksys number two node? okay. Oh, okay. So buy a new parent node and um did you say I have to buy two more extenders?
10:00
Speaker 2
I'm not so sure sure uh if uh the prices from local stores or in uh amazon we actually do not have any visibility with the prices they have but I will suggest that you at least try uh at least change your parent node into more updated ones uh uh yes yes uh the other two notes here can be used still as your extenders or boosters so if you have a upgraded parent node then you have an additional two nodes as your extenders or boosters okay
10:00
Speaker 1
okay, they just need to be plugged in, and then the new parent node would have the ethernet put into it? Oh, okay. All right, it is okay, and it's steady red? Mm. Yeah. Okay. Okay, alrighty.
11:00
Speaker 2
no sir. uh the two nodes you have right now can be used as an extender yes so you have to set up change the parent node okay that's good now sure um underneath your main uh Linksys device or the one connected to your spectrum box you have a reset button right but don't press it yet sure okay what you need to do is to press and release the reset button five times only on the the main uh node not too fast not too slow
11:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I did that five times, and it's black. Press release, press release. I did it like that. Okey, right now. It's just black. I'm actually having trouble with the power cord and it seems to. If it wiggles just a little bit, it stops working. So let me make sure it's pushed in all the way. Okay, it was, it wasn't. Yeah, the parent node, uh, power cord. If you just jiggle it a little bit, it becomes disconnected. So I pushed it in and now we have a solid blue. And uh, now it's fading blue to black. What's, what is the adapter? No, I haven't changed that. I'm using the original power cord to the parent. It just is a little wiggly. I'm going to probably go online to Amazon and find out what links us when you would recommend for me to replace. And right now, yeah. Okay. And what is that number again? Um, Mike, X-ray.
12:00
Speaker 2
Okay, did you try changing the cords here or the adapter? Or not yet? The power cord here at the back, the one connected to your power outlet. Did you try changing that or not yet? Uh I see. Uh I see. Yes, uh you can look for MX6200, uh sir. MX6200. If you will look for just, yes, if you will look for just one note, sir, uh just change the last digit. Instead of 600, change it into 6000.
13:00
Speaker 1
Can you give that to me again? You said MX 260. 6200. Is it apparent? Okay. I'm a little confused. I'm looking for a parent node to replace the one that we have now. Am I looking for MX 6200? Okay. All right. And right now it's a steady red on the parent node.
14:00
Speaker 2
6011. 60. 6201. Sorry, sorry. Did you say 6260? 6200. 6200, sir. Yes. If you will look for just one node, replace the last digit, sir, into one. So MX 6201 It can be used as a parent or a child, sir, but if you will have like a lower version of child node, then this should be used as a parent node. Yes. Okay, looking at Power.
14:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. This is steady red. Now it's green. it usually goes red and then it turns to green. So, the parent node is that the steady green. Mm-hmm. Right. silence
15:00
Speaker 2
loud sir just study red OK can u uh try to plug it properly sir like I think this got disconnected OK yes yes sir ok sure this seems to be uh the power adapter seems to be not durable sure or not working properly I will suggest sure um can you try changing the power cord sure since this you have identical nodes right same model can you use the adapter of the child nature for you to have a study um connection [silence]
15:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I'll disconnect both and then I'll plug in the parent with the child's power cord.
16:00
Speaker 2
Yes, yes, sir, because what you really need, sir, is for you to have a stable connection on the parent node.
16:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I've switched the power cords, the apparent node is now blinking in and out, blue and black. Okay. And, let's see, I'm looking at, uh, what I did. I, for Amazon Prime, I typed in Linksys 6200, 6200. And it says Linksys Mesh Wi-Fi Hydra Pro GE Tri-band Router. And then, um, Linksys Multi-gig Multi-mesh Wi-Fi 6 system, connect 100 plus devices up to 500 square feet. And then more towers. Atlas,
17:00
Speaker 2
Okay, yes sir. Let's wait for it to boot up, sir. Just let me know if it's all a do. Thank you. Huh? Huh? Huh? I will not, yes sir, I will not suggest a micro mesh, sir. Because that will not be compatible with your example.
17:00
Speaker 1
oh okay the other one is uh Atlas Wi-Fi 6 router home Wi-Fi mesh system dual band and since it says mesh you don't want that okay okay and it's by Linkus okay Hydra okay Linkis uh Wi-Fi 60 I'm sorry I didn't hear you 6E so Linkds Wi-Fi uh 6E router
18:00
Speaker 2
uh... that's a... uh... that's a key sir. It's actually a mesh. Um can you look for Hydra... Hydra... I'm sorry. Uh Wi-Fi 6E. yes. Wi-Fi 6E sir. Or just... no Hydra sir. Just Wi-Fi 6E. 'coz it might confuse you instead. 6... 6E sir. Echo. 6E
18:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Um, and what comes up is Multi-Gig Micromess, Wi-Fi 6 system. And it's $112, it looks like it has two towers, and then one flat thing. I just see another one here. It says, uh, the other one that I see here is called Velo Pro 6E, as in 6, echo, Wi-Fi mesh system. Okay, and it's just a big tower, it's a big gray thing, and and go ahead. Okay. The, uh, all right. The parent node is now green. And I did plug in the child node with the other cord. Just so that I don't wiggle it.
19:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Uh, no, sir. I will not suggest that. That's a, um, other version. That's still a Lennox new, sir, but that's not compatible with your WHW03. Or how about, um. Yes. Yes, that's the true thing. That's the right line. Yeah. It's ya OK. Sorry. OK.
19:00
Speaker 1
And it's red. Which one? Okay, do the parent one more time. Okay. One second. Okay, now it's blinking white and dark. Still blinking white and dark. Now it's green. Solid green. blinking red, red to black. Okay. So, you would recommend for me to buy the, the Linksys Velop Pro 6e Wi-Fi mesh system, one tri-band router, 5.4 gigabytes or something um and then I can still use the uh the other two. Okay. Okay. [silence]
20:00
Speaker 1
Okay. So, uh, let's see. The, uh, child node is still blinking red and it should, um, go to all green and then we're, we're good to go and then I can replace the parent node and then use these two as boosters, right? Oh, good. Well, that's very helpful. All right. Yes. Yeah, I, I do. I've been working on this for three hours yesterday. I appreciate your help. Uh, what time is it there? Oh, oh, wow. 12 hours difference.
22:00
Speaker 2
[silence] replace it exactly sir yes okay okay you wanted to stay on the line while we uh before uh and wait for this child doctor to connect okay okay okay no worries uh we will work on that. [silence] you're welcome sir is actually nine in the evening uh almost ten. yeah I'm working graveyard uh yes
22:00
Speaker 1
Wow, this is green, we're good to go, right? Oh, it's it's No, it didn't. It went back to uh blue, black, blue, black really slow. Now it's solid green again. the app? No No, no, I don't. Okay.
24:00
Speaker 2
Uh, give it another 10 seconds, more, Sir. If it stays solid green, yeah, that's good. Mm-hmm. Okay. Um, do you have the app here or the the Weekend Check app or yeah, the LeafC app? Do you have the LeafC app on your phone? You don't have? Okay. That's your cake. Okay. Um, actually, Sir, there's another way for you to associate or I'm sorry, uh, set up your child node or connect your child node if you don't want to use the app. We you have or we have the user interface using a computer. Yes, it's using a computer or an iPad. Anyway, Sir, you already have a blue light at the top. Uh do you want to move this node first before we end the call or D[silence]
24:00
Speaker 1
Actually, it's solid, it's solid green, so if I unplug this uh child node and put it back upstairs and plug it in, do I have to cycle the, the button five times again? uh, uh. uh okay. Um, let's do that right now. And actually, um, I have to switch the cords, because the other cord goes upstairs. Uh, oh maybe I could just get away with it this way. Uh, let me see. Okay. um, okay, it's a lot easier for me to. [silence]
25:00
Speaker 2
Do you want to access the user interface? Anything that you want to do? no need, sure. no need, sure. Just unplug and put it in your preferred place then wait for it two to three minutes for this node to connect. Okay. Yes, go ahead, sure. yes. you can just leave it, sir. You can just use the same chord that you are using right now. Actually, they do have the same chord specification, so you can just swap this.
25:00
Speaker 1
unplug it. uh, it's okay for me to unplug both and plug back in? Oh. Oh, sure. Okay. Hang on. I'm gonna put you on speaker and do that. All right, I'm gonna head upstairs and plug in the child.
26:00
Speaker 2
as long as you will not touch the Ethernet cable, sir, that's okay.
26:00
Speaker 1
Okay, still there? Okay, just plugged in the child and it's a solid blue. Now it's blinking blue. And I should probably wait for it to turn green. Okay. Thanks for holding. I really appreciate your help. Okay.
27:00
Speaker 2
Yes Sir? Yes Sir ehh? Okay. Yes, yes, Sir. Usually it will take two to three minutes. You are welcome Sir. Let's just wait for it to have a study green light on the top just to be sure. Oh, where? Somewhere South Shore. Uh-huh. Yes, sir. It's actually one of my favorites. Uh-huh. Yeah. Uh-huh. Ha ha ha. Yeah, it's actually good, sure, if it's spared with. Iced iC. You gotta try it. Yes Okay yes sir give it another 10 seconds sir we'll do the same earlier blink red blink blue then blink green and solid green mm-hmm Okay. Yes Yes sir we actually
27:00
Speaker 1
Oh good. Okay. So that's that. Let me go downstairs to the new. And I did order that uh that other Lynksus 6 Echo. And when I plug that in do I have to do all this push the button five times in order for the new parent? Oh okay. already. So uh the two I'm going to end up having two child nodes and they have to be within a meter, right?
30:00
Speaker 2
That parents. node sir, you still have to set it up as a parent. node then yes, it can do the same thing, sir. Just make sure that this nodes are ready for setup and it should be less than a meter away from the parent. and it should be ready for setup. child note. yes, yes, sir. for adding just for adding purposes.
30:00
Speaker 1
All right. Oh, good. Oh, good. Uh, the... All right. Okay. And the parent now is steady green. I'm back downstairs. No, that's all. I appreciate your help. And have some Loombia with ice tea for me. Okay. Thank you very much. Bye bye.
31:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Right after it's successfully added, then you can just unplug it and put it on your preferred places. That's actually a good thing, sir, because instead of having one extender or one booster, you will have two, which will cover more. And yes, sir. That parent, that's parent node, sir, the new one. That actually can cover up to 3,000 square feet per device. Okay. Okay. Well, that's good, sir. Well, it seems that we're already good now, sir. Any other things you want to check? You're welcome, sir. I think that's that will be for my dinner, sir. Okay, thank you, sir. You're welcome, sir. Have a good day.
31:00
