Yes, Gerald. My name is Jeff. So. Okay, so I have ongoing issues with my link this mesh network. I had one node go bad and put in a 6200, and that didn't work well. And so what I have now is I've got the 6200 as the child node, not the parent. That didn't work at all. I tried up about the 6200 as the parent and the original bad node as the child, So,

00:00
Speaker 1
And I've got five, uh four, 4200s and 1600. My I've got, um, a node now, um that uh before I did all these changes, I used to be at 3, 340 speeds. Now I'm at about 160. I go across the room, it's about 120. And if I go right outside of the window with it open, I get nothing. Now, this node and these cameras that I'm I'm standing by have been running flawlessly for three years. Now, it drops off as soon as I I go on a deck which is right outside and I open the window. So I'm five feet away with an open window and I my signal drops to nothing and I can't even. [silence] I don't know if there's a broadcast issue with this node. I don't know if it's a channeling issue, but can you take a look and see what we need to do to try to fix this because it's it's not now it's not usable. I can't even get my cameras to go up. I got a long one. Yes.
01:00
Speaker 2
let me check your record by here I think you have a record so let me just check this one I'm sorry I had to put you on hold for that long. You do have a lot of records here.
02:00
Speaker 1
No. This is, well, similar yes, but no. OK. So what's going on now is I have a node that that has decent signal strength. I, uh, well, it used to be a lot better. Um, but it still, it's it's I guess decent. I walk about 15 feet across the room. It drops from maybe 200 to 120. And then if I go right outside a window,
09:00
Speaker 2
So, uh, take time for me to read all of them. Now, going back, this seems to be your your last ticket. I know. You're ticket was actually escalated to level two support, right? And, seems to be the same issue right? Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm. Mm.
09:00
Speaker 1
Cudo another three feet. I've got zero signal whatsoever. Now, this node and the, and there are cameras attached to this. This node and these cameras have been running flawlessly for several years. So now I've got no signal. I can't get my cameras up. And it's, what's up? Oh, it's, it's blue. Yes, it is. But the 6200 is not the parent node. That didn't work at all. So the 6200 as parent node couldn't get the network to work at all. The only way to get
10:00
Speaker 2
What's the light of the note? What is the light of the note? It's blue. What about the MX-6200? That's white, right? Nah, go ahead.
10:00
Speaker 1
get the network to to work at all was to move the 6200 uh off the parent and to a child node. Now, that 6200 is on the opposite side of the house. That is not affecting this node and its broadcast. So, I'm asking about channels and things like that because all of a sudden, unless the 6200 is poisoning the entire network, all of a sudden, um, while I have signal and halfway decent signal, within inches of the node, I like I said, I go 15 ft. I drop probably at least 40% but I go 3 feet more outside of the window and I have nothing. Absolutely no signal. And like I said, this has been working for my cameras and everything else for for years. But now I, I can't get any mic cameras cause I have no signal. So, I don't know if this is a broadcasting thing. I don't know if it's the 6200 is poisoning the entire network. Um, or I don't know if it's a channeling thing, but I'm trying to figure this one out. [silence]
11:00
Speaker 2
Right, I see. How this next [beeping]. All right, we'll try some troubleshooting here and see if we can make it work. All right, do you have a computer that we can use?
12:00
Speaker 1
all right, I can get one. Hold on one sec. uh maybe. uh maybe. And do I need to be by the parent node? Or does it matter? Okay, hold on. A gateway? What do you mean? A gateway. Uh, well, I'm using, it's probably, yeah, it's probably a a modem router. Coming to fiber. Okay. And do you want me to hook up the do you want me to hook up directly with a um network cable to the the parent.
15:00
Speaker 2
Better if you're by the part. No, also, are you using a gateway? Yeah, gateway modem. What I mean is modem router. Yes, yes, please. [silence]
15:00
Speaker 1
Where would you like me to go now? Oops. Hold on. Okay.
16:00
Speaker 2
Go to my router . info or . local.
16:00
Speaker 1
Your connection is not- your connection is not private. I: continue. Hit advanced. And proceed to my book. Oh yeah. Ok. Now, internet connection is down. I don't think so. Hold on. I see there is a. Oh, okay. Go to.
17:00
Speaker 2
I what do you see now? Continue, yes. To advance, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes
17:00
Speaker 1
go to my uh... system settings and go into network uh... and and well, you know what? I could probably shut off my my Wi-Fi and just leave my my uh ethernet on. Is that correct? Uh because both are connected. And so I said that both the Wi-Fi and the LAN are connected, so I should shut off the Wi-Fi. Correct? All right. Okay, let's try this again. Okay. We're at a password.
18:00
Speaker 2
[silence] Hold on. I was trying to fix my internet... What did you say again? [silence] [silence] Yeah, turn off the Wi-Fi.
18:00
Speaker 1
and you have my number just in case we get disconnected. Okay, I'm there. Where would you like me to go? Linksys Smart Wi-Fi tools, device list, guest access and right hand side, network status. Connected.
19:00
Speaker 2
Sure, uh, I do have your number. I'll call back if we get disconnected. Oh, what do you see now? I just wanna make sure we're in the same page. Uh, you're connected to the Wi-Fi.
19:00
Speaker 1
uh no uh all the all the notes are blue and they're all broadcasting because I had because I had the because I had the Wi-Fi and the um uh internet at the same time okay well before before it wasn't um now I'm connected to the ethernet I can turn I can turn the Wi-Fi back on and see if that poisons the well if you'd like
20:00
Speaker 2
It's actually gonna work even if you have both connected Wi-Fi or cable. Sure, we can try that. And also check which Wi-Fi you're connected to because
20:00
Speaker 1
Uh the the, the Wi-Fi that I was connected to. Okay. It's called Orchard Hill Mesh 2. And it looks like it's looks like it's connected sure it says it's connected uh hold on wait wait don't I have to,
21:00
Speaker 2
That's not you can you reload the page alright I guess that's fine then but that was really weird alright so scroll down all the way to the bar at the bottom the bottom lower right corner of the screen you'll see a letter C uh kinda small but you can find it there okay now go to the left hand side and then router set up [KEEP_UNCERTAIN] Yes, I thought you already click the CA. You did that, right? Okay. Do you wanna have to that? No. You don't have to go to the connectivity to see the CA. Is that showing or not showing? Uh, let's go to connectivity. Check if you can see CA router set up if that's showing there. Then the CA is already activated. So that's okay. Wait, wait. So there is a fucking rival scenario
21:00
Speaker 1
nca router setup this up on the top right uh, the the everything was updated the other day with the tech on the phone, but that was uh, I mean, look, there's a it's set up for automatic updates as well. The details are uh, no, it's a 4000. Okay, because I just I I know why it is. Because I got another I got another uh node that I I put in and that one probably wasn't updated. So everything else is up to date. I can update that last node, but that's not the problem, because that's on the other side of the house. So, I can go back and do that. So, uh, everything else is up to date. I did. Uh, the
23:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Maybe it was the MX-620 that you guys updated. Not the... Can you click the details and give me all the firmware version and the model?
23:00
Speaker 1
The four okay node one, do you want the full number or just the last four digits? MX 4200 is 6903 that's the last four. Uh MX I mean I mean 4000 series, 6903, 4000 series 6903, 6200 6738, uh 4000 series, this is an older one 0200, and um this one is a much older one MHW and that's 6893. So the the new one that I just put in just needs to be updated. And that's a 4000. But the 6200 is up to date.
24:00
Speaker 2
just the model number and the firmware version or the current version alright one second [silence]
24:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I'm there. Enabled. So, you said disable it or just go back?
25:00
Speaker 2
Alright, let's go to, um administration. Is the express forwarding enabled or just able, uh, that's okay. We're gonna disable it later. If it doesn't work, just click okay and let's go to Wi-Fi settings. No, just hit okay for now. Hit okay.
25:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. Wi-Fi settings. Okay. I'm there. Uh, uh channel is auto and the both are, uh the five G, five G one and five G two and the 2.4 is all auto. Take this one more time. Yes. Uh the channel changed to 48. Okay. And then hit apply.
26:00
Speaker 2
button and let's go to Wi-Fi settings. and what's the channel of the 2.4, the 5 and the 6 gigahertz. no, the two oh, I forgot the 6 gigahertz, that's the M42. So, what's the channel of the 2.4 and the 5, 1, the 5, 2? Okay, for the 5 gigahertz on change the channel to 48 and can you tell me the security mode? What is it right now? So for the channel of the 5 gigahertz one, change that to 48. Yes. Not yet. What is the security?
26:00
Speaker 1
WPA personal. Yes. No, WPA 2 personal. We're updating Wi-Fi settings. Network [silence] Applying changes. Please wait. Network [silence] Ok.
27:00
Speaker 2
2.4 of the 5.1 and the 5.2 WPA 2 personal, or just WPA? OK, good. All right, you can hit apply now. [silence]
27:00
Speaker 1
That done? Yes. Yes. Uh, click on, what I'm sorry? Oh advanced. Yep, got it. Both on. Okay, hit apply. Okay, that's done. Yes, I believe so. it, just, I hit apply, yeah. [silence]
28:00
Speaker 2
are you back to the Wi-Fi settings? okay select click advance. Advance that's still under Wi-Fi settings. What is the client steering and the node steering? Is that on or off? Let's try to turn them off for now. So turn off client and node steering. And apply. Is it already applied? Okay let's see if it.
28:00
Speaker 1
So I have... Okay. So I'm going to... [silence] Okay, I'm back. What would you like me to do? Yeah, but it never went red. It stayed blue and disconnected its power and it stayed blue. No, solid blue, but it never went red. [silence] Do you want me to unplug it again? Oh no, now it's red. Okay. Yeah.
29:00
Speaker 2
is the main now turn on now? Uh blinking blue, right? It's supposed to be blinking. Oh, that's weird. It's right now. Okay.
31:00
Speaker 1
OK, It's still solid red. Now it's turned to blue. Well, I didn't unplug them all. I just, uh Did you want me to leave them unplugged? Well, OK.
32:00
Speaker 2
All right. Turn on the child node, the one that's closest to that. Yeah, all of them. Turn them off, and then turn them on one at a time.
32:00
Speaker 1
check okay that's blue and then one flashing red I got two flashing red flashing blue
34:00
Speaker 2
to turn solid blue UV them, except the the MX-6 to 200, that's going to be solid white.
34:00
Speaker 1
200. The 6200, the 6200. No, parent. Pulsing blue. I've got one on the other side. There's one 42, there's one 4200 that has blue. The 6200 that's hardwired is still pulsing blue.
35:00
Speaker 2
That's gotta be the one that's hardwired. Yes. My [sir] hardward directly to another child node or to parent node. [sir] Okay uh... so Hmm. I'm trying to understand it. So. So right now the closest node to the parent node is the mx6200 or another mx went to Hmm hmm Hmm. [sir] Okay. [silence]
35:00
Speaker 1
Okay, now it's white. Just went to white. Well, no, I'm back now. Now that the 6200 is now white, I'm going to go check the other 4200's. I still have the flashing red on on one. Let's see. Okay, I have blue on one node and the flashing red on another node. Hopefully they'll turn blue cuz I put the 6200 in.
36:00
Speaker 2
Okay. right so all MX on 4200 they're all solid blue and the the white ones MX are there were Okay. [silence] [silence]
36:00
Speaker 1
Ah, this is not making me happy here. This this one node, which was blue before is now flashing red. It's the one closest to the 6200. I How long should I have to wait in order for this to turn blue? [silence] I'm going to come back to this node. And it was blue before. This one's blue.
37:00
Speaker 2
It's normally three up to five minutes per node.
38:00
Speaker 1
That one's blue. Okay. I'm gonna go outside. I'm just checking the speed. Okay. Okay. [silence] I lose you? No. Well, once again, I can tell you that, that I've got the I have a blue node here and sure
39:00
Speaker 2
Oh, no. I'm just here. I'm just waiting for all of them to turn solid blue.
41:00
Speaker 1
i'm inside i'm just inside the the house and i um i'm getting 150 by a window i go right outside that window i mean literally right outside that window and i've got nothing and i've had this system set up like this for three years. Check my, phone not connected, but do develop. Let's try this again. I do. Okay I'm in the app. Where would you like me to go?
42:00
Speaker 2
Do you have the Linksys app installed in your phone? Okay, can you log into the app? Alright, thank you. Go to the three lines at the top left and go to network admin.
43:00
Speaker 1
[silence] okay free lines network administration okay where'd you like me to go also uh home kit oh and also, uh, home kit at integration i saw somewhere to either shut perspective [silence]
44:00
Speaker 1
Diagnostics. Turn the diagnostic information on, then network logs and include a message. You're just sitting there. Okay? I did that. Yes, it is turn on.
45:00
Speaker 2
Ashley Diagnostics yes on said network likes uh huh all right let me check you said the home kit integration is turned on I know it's turned on I'll get it, Tened, off.
45:00
Speaker 1
i can but the the that I installed before that was blue. that's the one that needs updating, but and you want me to go to my computer and run a speed test off the. Ethernet off the ? okay. let's go to. net where do you want to go?
48:00
Speaker 2
I well I'm checking the diagnostics here. Can you run a speed test on your computer? with red right? Yes. Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Yes. Uh foster. Come. Yes.
48:00
Speaker 1
Okay. My internet speed is 1 gigabyte. [silence] That's 1.1 gig.
49:00
Speaker 2
Okay, good. Now, go to speed test.org. speed, test.att. All right, now, disconnect that from the cable, from the router.
49:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Open up a new window. Let me go back to my Mesh network. Okay. Now it's acquiring the Wi-Fi. All right, let's try it again. 396. Now I'm going to, because the the upload is 800 and change. So I'm just going to, I'm going to go ahead and, uh, I should probably clear history. Mm-set test. And I'm going to go ahead and run it again. 688. Now I'm going to go ahead and go to my phone. And go to the speed test app. Okay. Just from my phone. On my phone, I'm right now running at 44. 468. So, and I'm within six inches of the router. Hardwood. What am I saying? Go ahead. Okay. And I need to quit out of the.
50:00
Speaker 2
Right, um, okay. So, there's no problem with the speed of the parent node. Let's try to check the child node's speed. Just go to the first child node location and then do a speed test. [silence] [silence] Right, um, um, um, [silence] Maybe we need a second opinion. you can take your computer because we're gonna need to hardwire to the child nodes, but that's okay. Yes, the child nodes and then that's the wired and wireless. I can actually see that the child nodes is receiving an absolute except that one node is offline, it's wireless right now. IRSSI dot
52:00
Speaker 1
Do you want me to turn off the Wi-Fi when doing this or no? Okay. Hardwired, I am at 469. Well, that's hardwired, so I'm going to disconnect from the hard wire and I'm going to put on the
54:00
Speaker 2
469 so if when using Wi-Fi then you can at least get up to 300 or 250 yeah let's connect [silence]
54:00
Speaker 1
again okay, let's try doing again okay, let's see I'm going I'm going to redo this because it got stuck at 91.3 two three okay, test So, it dropped from my main, it dropped from my main Internet mesh to the guest network. So, something happened that made it drop. It -- what happened was I went to Wi-Fi on this child node and I started the child node and in the middle it stalled at 91. I went back to the Wi-Fi and it switched from my main mesh network to my guest mesh network and it's telling me a socket error occurred during the upload test. A firewall could be blocking the connection or the server might be having some issues. Please try again later. And let's see did it.
55:00
Speaker 2
Wait. Are you connected now to your guest network?
56:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. And it's... it does not have a strong connection here. I am 15 feet from the from the parent node and I don't have a strong connection now with the modem. Let me see. Let me figure out why that. But I can tell you that this has been working with this modem for the last year without problem. Well, I shouldn't say without problem. It's not great because it keeps on dropping, but...
57:00
Speaker 2
mo- M-O-D-E-M, give me the model number of the modem. Yeah, modem.
57:00
Speaker 1
I can't these things it is buried. well, but but I have I'm I'm logged in but I'm logged into the the orchard hill mesh is developed. That's what I'm logged into. I'm not one the
58:00
Speaker 2
because what I'm actually thinking right now, I see the default route of your router. That is 198.1 and the one over there is most likely connected to the gateway. And the gateway Wi-Fi or DHCP server is not disabled which probably the one causing the problem here. And I'm actually thinking now that the gas that you're talking about is the modem, Wi-Fi. That's why when you're far way, your phone is connected to the gateway. You're getting slow speed because it's not possible that you're near the main node of child node. And you're getting slow speed unless it's channel issue. [silence]
58:00
Speaker 1
[KEEP_UNCERTAIN] Logged in to the opt optic modem. Wi-Fi. I'm logged in strictly to the uh uh uh to the Velop mesh network. I I have been dropping it. Probably. Yeah. Let me see if I can let me see if I can find it. This modem is very depends on.
59:00
Speaker 2
now. How, how about this? Um, yeah, give me the model number for now, I forgot. Yeah. Yeah, give me the model number.
59:00
Speaker 1
[silence] Model is G R 240 J H and it's Altus. A L T I C E. [silence] we would in changing whatever we did, the modem that were the the no child know that I had working before is no longer working. Okay. Okay. Okay. Go to my phone settings.
60:00
Speaker 2
we can we can fix that later for for now uh... let's focus on the signal um... How about this? Go to your phone, settings, forget the the network of your gateway and and also forget the network of your match. then we'll all connect to the mesh. And then let's test the Wi-Fi.
61:00
Speaker 1
And then go to I said phone. Yeah. And then my networks you want me to so the oldest you want. Mmm. No, I know. It's probably on the on the bottom, but it's it's not even listed as a thing. That even under other networks, so it's not even not connected. See. I don't know what the network password is.
62:00
Speaker 2
Yes, is that iPhone or Android? I... I phone ok. Yeah settings, Wi-Fi settings. Yeah, the disconnect, yeah, disconnect from that. Also forget that network. Just tap the information icon, the blue icon with the I inside. Press that, then look for the option. Forget this network, click that. You you do remember the password of that right? Because once you disconnect, you're not connected anymore.
62:00
Speaker 1
No, absolutely not. It's connected to the mesh. Yes, I do. I got the network, okay. Don done. I forgot the network. Okay. Okay. [silence]
63:00
Speaker 2
okay all right forget the Wi-Fi with the mesh and then reconnect you do remember the password of your mesh correct okay good and reconnect also forget the guest network forgot to tell you that
63:00
Speaker 1
okay that's done so you want me to you want me to toggle off on the node itself okay okay [silence]
64:00
Speaker 2
ah I don't know go to your phone settings and there's a Wi-Fi there Wi-Fi settings toggle that off and toggle it back on so that it will pick up the closest node right away and then run a speed test
64:00
Speaker 1
124. And it looks like it just dropped. I'm not sure. No, it didn't drop. But I'm gonna quit out of speed test and do it again. It's like 160. Oh, let me see. I'm getting a call. 200 with an uploaded tree. Yes. Okay. Here's what I've got going. I've got 20 people coming to my home that are renting my home at 3:00 this afternoon. I suggest you put the settings back to where it was and get that other node back on, because right now at this point I can't take a chance and not having at least what I had before.
65:00
Speaker 2
200 down and upload three. Sure. We can set it back. We just, uh, we didn't change a channel, but that's all. Oh, we did also turn up the client and notes. Let's turn it back on. Let's go to my router. I mean back to your computer.
66:00
Speaker 1
[silence] My router.ok, [silence] and site cannot be reached. Let me just take a look and see if it's, Yeah. Both are, both are connecting and it's telling me site cannot be reached. Now if I turn off the Wi-Fi, and do my, [silence]
67:00
Speaker 2
let's go to my router.local. my router.local yes.
67:00
Speaker 1
Oh that's because I spelled it wrong. Okay. That's my fault. Okay. Um, continue. [silence] Okay. Am I uh, am I going to Advanced, in Wi-Fi Settings and turning my client steering and node steering back on? And I'll apply that.
68:00
Speaker 2
Uh, Canada. Correct, you actually remember it. So yeah, correct. Client that was turning back on, and.
68:00
Speaker 1
Well, client node and node steering. I turn back on. OK. And now I go to connectivity. It wasn't. Uh, wireless. Where is that? I'm seeing the WiFi settings. Oh, okay. Huh. That's weird. I'm in I'm in wireless. I'm seeing the 2.4 and the 5. I I didn't see what I must be in the wrong thing. I'm not an advance.
69:00
Speaker 2
yes both clients are up yes no um not yet under wifi wireless tab and change the channel back to auto for the 5 gigahertz one yeah wifi settings and the first tab is wireless change back the channel to auto
69:00
Speaker 1
Yes, it is, it's now there. Is it looking A? Okay. come up. Okay. go back to Auto on 5 gig and apply. And hit yes. Okay. Okay, and I'm going to pick okay. Okay. Okay. Now, I'll turn it back on. [silence]
70:00
Speaker 2
yes, hit, okay. Uh, let's troubleshoot the the one that's red, blinking red, just turn the internet back on for now. Let's see if that's gonna work. If that doesn't work, we'll we'll reset it.
71:00
Speaker 1
Now it's blinking red. what's up? yeah I mean yeah it's restarting it's blinking red and hopefully we'll go blue here
72:00
Speaker 2
and that's restarting, right? It didn't restart.
72:00
Speaker 1
No, it was, I think it was blue, and I think it was blue, and then it went to red, blinking.
73:00
Speaker 2
That's not! Did it not show a blinking blue light? It's right away red blinking. Okay okay good so setting timer now three minutes and starting now.
73:00
Speaker 1
Okay, still blinking red. [silence] All right, so now I've got to go back and take this down and and edit. [silence] All right.
75:00
Speaker 2
I think it's better to reset that. Press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds, and then let's add it to the main node, but that node should be at least three feet away from the main node when adding it.
75:00
Speaker 1
OK. It's blue currently. Do I need to ethernet it in? And it said it has to be within three feet. Yeah. It's just just a child.
76:00
Speaker 2
No need. No need. When it, yes, correct. When, when it shows red light blinking or solid, just press the reset button. Hold it down for 20 seconds. When it's red. By the way, don't read the main note, just that note, okay? I'm just making sure you're not resetting the moment.
76:00
Speaker 1
okay, it's red, it's red blinking. Now hold and reset for 20 seconds. Okay. all thing blue.
77:00
Speaker 2
Thank you. 20 seconds. Yes. Mm-hmm. [silence]
77:00
Speaker 1
What am I waiting for now this point? Okay. It's pink. Now it's log me out. I'll do it for my computer.
78:00
Speaker 2
[silence] are waiting for that note to show a purple light, or pink. Okay, open your Linksys app and go to the three lines, at top left. Scroll down,Lok for the option, "set up new product." click that.
78:00
Speaker 1
Hold on one second. All right. So I'm hardwired and I'm going to the linksys up. And I'm going to connectivity. Okay. I'm there. Okay. Done. Do I hit apply or anything? Okay.
79:00
Speaker 2
Sure, we can also do that in your computer. Okay, go to connectivity. Connectivity, yes. Last tab under connectivity, see a wire setup, click that and click add wireless child nodes. And just click it once, oh no need to click apply or okay, just don't click anything after that.
79:00
Speaker 1
okay. I just clicked the Edgeh wireless child node. Yeah. It just turned it's turned red and flashing. it's turned red and flashing. it's turned red and flashing. it's turned red and flashing. it's turned red and flashing. I had it solid blue before. Yeah. Well we didn't we actually didn't update this one. This is not updated. This is still on the old Oh, so, so by when it, when it blinks red, it's going to update the firmware? I'm going to put you on hold for a second.
80:00
Speaker 2
And that's what I'm saying. So if that. Remain on blinking red. we'll need to update the firmware of that manually. No if that keeps on blinking red. and that's. Yeah, we will update it. manually. Silence
81:00
Speaker 1
Okay, I'm sorry. Okay, it's blue now. Yes. Okay. Okay. Just plug it back in.
84:00
Speaker 2
What's the light now? It's blue now. Okay. Good. um, put it back to where it was or where you want it to be. And let's see. Um, tell me, can you fix it?
84:00
Speaker 1
It's pulsing blue. Okay, now it's blinking red. So, what I'm going to have to do is fall back when I have a full day to go over this. Because it's still all my cameras are down, my outdoor cameras, everything's down and I can't get it connected because there's absolutely no signal once I leave the house. Which, like I said, I've had this for three years and it's been running my cameras for three years, and now all of a sudden, I can't get my cameras and my signal strength, or my signal on WhatsApp went from 340 to 160, to 120 across the room to absolutely zero just when I go to the opposite side of a window. So, something something is going on with either the broadcasting or whatnot, but this is it's not workable. And it's still the blinking red.
85:00
Speaker 2
Right, I'll put down my note right here. Is it still blinking blue or solid blue now? Let me look at that. Okay. Okay.
87:00
Speaker 1
Line of sight, uh, about uh, maybe 25 ft. But but it's on another floor, but it got it before. This is just ridiculous. I'm not got this node today uh had it blue before, now I can't acquire a signal again. Either this network is incredibly unstable or something else is going on. Is there a way to check the signal right where I'm standing? [silence] Is there a way to check the signal right where I'm standing? I'm talking about checking the signal that's being broadcast. Because I just had it before. Now we made the changes. Now I can't get it again. [silence] It shouldn't, okay, it shouldn't. But it did. So something else is going on in this network.
91:00
Speaker 2
You can track the signal of that node. if that's offline, you can do. You can only do it when it's online. Right, I understand. We just changed a channel, so we change it and the client nodes steering shouldn't affect that node like to the extent that it's not connecting. Right, right. How about we do this? Let's swap the location. So move that to the location of the MX200 then that MX200 to the location of that.
93:00
Speaker 1
No, no, nope, not doing that. At least I've got internet. Yeah, because everything that we've done for the last number of days has just put me back further and further back. And it's like, uh, this is a disaster. And I have people coming in here, and I need internet for TVs, and uh, I'm not going to have it. So I'm not doing any more, because I've already gone backwards today. I don't have what I had when I called, and I don't have anything more than I had when I called. I mean, it's ridiculous.
94:00
Speaker 2
I wanted to put that to the location of that node. May I know the reason why? Got it. Okay, I've a send. [silence] Let's move a bit closer to the main node and hard wire it to the main node. We're gonna update the firmware of that.
94:00
Speaker 1
Okay, it's hardwired. No, right now it's flashing red. The Ethan, Ethan at parties on both.
96:00
Speaker 2
Is that's all I'm doing now. Uh, the child node. Did you connect that to the internet port or the, internet? Hmm? Okay.
96:00
Speaker 1
Okay, now it's blue. Okay. I'm connect- I'm on a local network. Action. It looks like everything is now updated. Okay, now it's blue. Okay. Looks I'm connected. I'm on a local network. It looks like everything is now updated.
98:00
Speaker 2
Okay, back to your computer and go to connectivity. Okay, one second. Go to local network. Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. We need to update the firmware. So let's do the firmware first. So back to basic and then for our Belulnet for a Belulber update, just update that. But before you do that since it's connected.
98:00
Speaker 1
Wait a second. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I don't know that this one is is now being seen on the network anymore. Well, because I had six, I had I had six nodes. And there's only five showing now. So should I go back to add wireless child node? Because I don't think this is it. Let me have a look at the number on here. Serial number ends in 19473. No, this this it's like this node is not in the network at all. So
99:00
Speaker 2
So what's the premise of that? What do you mean? [silence]
99:00
Speaker 1
I should probably go back and try to add this, because it doesn't look like it's on the network. [silence] [silence] It's solid blue, but it's not showing in this list. [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] Let's go to device list. [silence] [silence] [silence] Let's move it. [silence] [silence] [silence] Look, it's showing a ton of stuff here, uh, uh, well, there's no one, uh, okay. [silence] I should probably go back and try to add this, because it doesn't look like it's on the network. [silence] [silence] It's solid blue, but it's not showing in this list. [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] Let's go to device list. [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence]
100:00
Speaker 2
I mean press another reset button hold it down for 20 seconds because you can just add it it's already added it's right now solid blue. Can you click okay and go to device list? Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Tools first option. How many nodes showing there? Just a node.
100:00
Speaker 1
It shows it, it, it shows looks like node 1019473 and it shows online here at the device list, but it doesn't show in the update software list. It doesn't, it doesn't show any updates available, but it doesn't show me where. I'm gonna hit update where it says update doesn't show any.
101:00
Speaker 2
It's okay. It's just taking its time. So just click check for updates. Let's see. Go back to connectivity. Click okay. Back to connectivity.
101:00
Speaker 1
Are the files are available but it's not showing me the notes. Is that correct? So what are you asking me to do? I understand, but I cannot select that one alone. All the other ones are up to date. Right, it's not showing the list, but you were saying something that it could do something else to the parent node. So the parent mode.
102:00
Speaker 2
Right, but before you... yeah, that's correct. But before you hit update, so once you update the the firmware, I don't know might be affected because they're connected to the parent node network. Update it. We still need to update it. Right. So all the nodes that updated that is already updated will not update because it's already updated. It will update the nodes that's not updated. Yeah, because the parent node will boot up or or probably just the [silence]
102:00
Speaker 1
So, just so I'm clear, if I hit update, I'm not gonna screw up my parent node. Mm-hmm. All right, so I'm gonna go ahead and hit update. [silence]
103:00
Speaker 2
I'm not going to scrub your front. Uh, no, yes. Um, updating the firmware is, it's okay. Um, I'm still re-learning.
103:00
Speaker 1
[silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] [silence] Well, just what it says, but there's no change in status lights on the on either the parent or the one I had plugged in. [silence] Okay, it says your router is rebooting. There's it's waiting, but there's no oh, okay, here now it's starting And pulse. [silence] [silence] [silence] It's blinking now. [silence] Yes that's correct. [silence] Now it's blinking red. [silence] Meaning the child's nose blinking red. [silence] Now it's solid blue. [silence] Yes, I still have, what I'm sorry? [silence] No, it's just saying, [silence]
104:00
Speaker 2
Is the light of that child node blinking now or still solid? What the parent node is solid, right? Not blinking. Okay. Let's Let's reserve the IP of that. Um, are you still under connectivity, right? What, what do you see on the page right now? Is it installing or downloading now or finished? Where did it finish?
106:00
Speaker 1
Now it's at solid blue. Right now it just says waiting and the circle. Hold on one second please.
107:00
Speaker 2
Well, what's on the page? Waiting, okay. Okay.
107:00
Speaker 1
OK. So, it's solid blue and it says firmware completion is up, update is complete. OK. DHCP server is enabled. Reservation. Oh, down at the bottom. OK done. OK let's see. Over now team. So, I'm looking for it in the list, right? [silence]
108:00
Speaker 2
All right. So go to local network. Can you see DHCP reservation, right? No, reservation. Click that. Yeah. On the bottom. Then select the node, the child node we just added. I mean, we update the firmware. Select that and then edit, add DHCP reservation.
108:00
Speaker 1
I'm looking for 1943. Okay, I found it on the list. What would you like me to do? I, I did that. Okay. You're talking about the Ethernet cable.
109:00
Speaker 2
yes select and then add DHCP reservation it will be listed on the tab reserved addresses and then click okay then hit apply now disconnect the cable connected at the back of the router the child node right there yeah sorry
109:00
Speaker 1
Okay that's done. Looks like it's blinking blinking red. I don't know if we gave it enough time to apply the change. Blink blink blink
110:00
Speaker 2
the ethernet cable you sell solid blue or blinking blue now or red is that okay it's normal when you disconnect the cable it will adapt to the new connection looking for Wi-Fi now
110:00
Speaker 1
Now it's solid blue. Yeah, I'm moving it now. [silence]
111:00
Speaker 2
Let's wait for a minute. If that stays all blue, put it back to where it was. All right, you can move that now, if that stays solid blue. Still solid blue? Okay, move it now. [silence] Give me at least two minutes. I'll be right back, okay? I'm just gonna load up my tools right here and gather some resources, okay? Thank you. Hello, thank you so much for patiently waiting on the line. Uh, what happened to the node? Still blinking, right? Still blinking, right, okay. So, here's what we're going to do. Um,
111:00
Speaker 1
Okay. No, I can't do this tomorrow. I've got people here. People are paying to stay in this house. They're not going to have it and I said I would get it to work. Six notes and my cameras don't work.
122:00
Speaker 2
Good morning. [silence] Appreciate your patience. [silence] And to apologize for the inconvenience. [silence] I'm going to escalate your ticket back to the level 2 because this was already handled by the level 2 as well. [silence] I understand that this is is not kind of the same concerns before, but I'm going to escalate this to the level 2 to further investigate and troubleshoot your device. [silence] Callback is within the day. [silence] Ali is there anything that you want to add to my documentation before I escalate your ticket? [silence] Michael: Right. Uh level 2 support will contact you within the day. [silence] Melody: And I'll I'll put it in my documentations. [silence] Michael: Sure. anything else? [silence] Melody: All right. Thank you for coming on a Friday.
122:00
Speaker 1
Internet, doesn't work. And you must hear this stuff all day long because I I've been looking into it and all over the Reddit forums and everything else. They just say that the Linksys equipment is just gotten terrible. Um, I guess they can call me back. Thank you very much.
123:00
Speaker 2
[silence] All right. Thank you so much for your understanding. And I will now let you take it, okay? Appreciate your patience with this. [silence]
