Yes, I have a Linksys router and a mesh network and I've just bought some new towers because it's not working very well. And I can't the app doesn't sync up. It doesn't recognize as a network or anything. So I don't know what on earth has gone wrong here. The router. Yeah, it can't detect the router. It can't detect anything on the mesh network or anything. And the purple lights are solid on the router. And it's connected to the internet and [ silence ]

Welcome to Linksys Support. To assure quality service, your call may be monitored. Please remain on the line for assistance. Hi, thank you for calling Linksys. My name is Van. How can I help you today? [silence] It's unable to detect the mesh, is that correct? weird.
00:00
Speaker 1
I can browse the Internet and there are a couple of towers that are currently working, but the rest of the towers don't seem to ever connect. They just drop out and it's infuriating. I've wasted so much money on this. Yes, it is. Yeah. And the app doesn't detect it. There are two towers that are also solid, uh, purple. And then the one upstairs is no, uh, is red and the one in the kitchen is red and that's no more than about uh three meters away from another mesh which it was linked to and it no longer can see it. I keep bringing it back to the main router. It goes purple. I take it back, and then it loses connection and the same with the upstairs. So
01:00
Speaker 2
Is the main tower a solid purple light? And what about the other towers as well, what are the colors in those ones. I see.
01:00
Speaker 1
My kids can't get any internet at all. Uh, I, I, think it probably is. Oh, sorry. yes, it's Nigel Dunn, NIGEL D U N N. Yes. Yes. nigel Dunn number nine@gmail.com. Yeah. Yeah. That's it.
02:00
Speaker 2
All right, before anything else, can I ask, is this your first time calling as well?
02:00
Speaker 1
Of the root, even. Model number is SPN MX55. Well, I've got one too.
03:00
Speaker 2
All right, can you provide me the serial number of the linksys device? [silence] Yes. [silence] 55V10H, [ silence ] 26D1839. What's the model of the device? [ silence ] How many linksys devices in total?
03:00
Speaker 1
Three, four. Four at the moment, I've just bought two more. Giga-clear. Okay. So the router has a solid blue light and two of the towers have solid blue lights, the rest have red. [silence]
04:00
Speaker 2
Alright. Lastly, Mantois the internet service provider. So before anything else, in terms of the lights on your Linksys devices. A solid purple light indicates it's in a ready to set up mode. Solid blue light indicates that it's working. [silence] Alright. [silence] For the ones that turn red, those ones that turned red are currently affecting in how you try to enter the Linksys smart Wi Fi app. You need to factory reset those child notes that turn to
04:00
Speaker 1
Right. OK. All right. OK. So I've been trying to look at this whole thing as a network so I've downloaded the Linksys app and the link
05:00
Speaker 2
to factory reset them you just have to hold the reset button until the light goes out on those specific nodes and once they're in a solid purple light they are now ready to be added to your mesh again. Before anything else since double checking with the serial number of your unit it shows here that it hasn't been registered as well. Currently since that seems to be the case I'll be sending you a link directly to your email where if you click on that link it will automatically redirect to a page where you'll be able to register your Linksys devices. Also attached to that email is a copy of your ticket number which serves as your reference the next time you might need to call us.
05:00
Speaker 1
Access app just simply doesn't recognize any of the units here, none of them. And I've been on the internet to try and understand why this is the case, but it there is, it basically says if you stick the phone near the the the main tower and tell it it's connected, then it will find it. But it doesn't. No, I haven't. Because the internet says to download the app. Hmm. So.
06:00
Speaker 2
Have you tried accessing it on a computer or laptop as well, just to make sure? There are two ways to enter with your, uh, interface, I'm sorry, with the router settings, either on a laptop or computer, on a web-based interface or through the app, which is, you can also use a remote access. So, on the web interface, all you have to search is,
06:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. So I've gone to my router.local and it's just sent me to another page. It's a Google page and it's with an AI router on it, AI page telling me what I'm meant to do, which is to do exactly what I've just done and it's just going round in bloody circles, this is just very annoying.
07:00
Speaker 2
is my router dot local while you're connected to the wi-fi and it will redirect you to your settings there. So, once again, there's a possibility that currently the reason why your app isn't functioning properly is due to the child node being solid red. You will need to consider factory resetting that child node first. What's the page that you're at?
07:00
Speaker 1
Yeah, I I just sent me, sending me to a Google page, which is, access your router's local settings by connecting to its network and opening a web browser, which is exactly what I just did. Yes. It, it takes me then to some spurious company that is trying to sell me support. [silence]
08:00
Speaker 2
When you searched for my router.local In a web browser, did you do it on the address bar? all right. And did it then load or, did you enter it in my router.local Is there a picture of two cell phones or somewhere that says login? Or did you get a warning page? When you search for local was it all in one word? Kind of try the alternative, which is the default IP address, 192.168.1.
08:00
Speaker 1
yes. Right, so I I've don't. I've put HTTP. I've put HTTP, uh, uh, the phone my router thing and it's come again to a support page for Velop. Uh, and it's doing something to do with blocking it. Dot HTML. It says, keep your Wi-Fi handy. And it tells you to download the app, which I did several days ago and it's just not recognizing anything. Yeah, I can. doing something, it says. It's taking me to a link to
09:00
Speaker 2
Is your computer right now connected to the Linksys Wi-Fi?
09:00
Speaker 1
I I I'm with it's not accepting the password I'm but I I I no it doesn't no admin password it just says the access password so what do I do [ silence ]
10:00
Speaker 2
It's referring to your admin password. If you cannot remember or haven't created an admin password yet, you click reset password. I wondered if you could check what's in the app. If you can no longer remember or haven't created an admin password,
10:00
Speaker 1
All right. OK. Choose a password that is secure and easy to remember. [silence] Alright, okay. [silence] Choose a password that is secure and easy to remember. [silence]
11:00
Speaker 2
Have you created the admin password yet? You will click reset password and it will ask for the five digit recovery key underneath the main node. [silence]
11:00
Speaker 1
to save a password is asking for a user name what what should I put on there it's it's um silence okay now I'm logged in C a silence no there isn't a C a silence alright at the bottom right there wow okay silence
12:00
Speaker 2
Is that on the browser itself? Because if it's popping up on your top, right, you don't need to save it, not unless you need to. It's the browser, not your log in itself. [ silence ] All right, to add child nodes using the web browser, scroll down at the very bottom, and if you can see a very tiny text at the very bottom right that says CA, click that one. Yes, CA. It starts with end user license agreement. Click on S
12:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. Right. Okay. Okay. And how many child nodes can you add?
13:00
Speaker 2
CA, it will still be the same page but it's a little bit more expanded in terms of the details. Once you're now in CA on the left side, find the router settings. Connectivity at the very last tab in Connectivity, it should either say Velop setup or CA router setup and there you can add child nodes. It can be wired child node or wireless child node. The only condition in order to add a child node, the child node must be solid purple and it's near the parent node when you're trying to add them. You can add as many child nodes as you need to be for example all four of your child nodes went down and you want to add the other child nodes, you can go ahead and move one of your child node somewhere nearby and then reset it and it should come back on like normal, like green.
13:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so I've got a tower right next to me. I factory reset it and it's come up purple. So I can add this one now can't I? [silence] Okay.
14:00
Speaker 2
gather them all in the same room and just click the option add wireless if you want them wireless or wired if it's needed to be wired. If you're adding the child node, once you click that button, it will start blinking. And to double check if it's finished, it will stop at a solid blue light. For the one that turns solid red, make sure to factory reset it or put it close to the parent node first to see if there's any difference. If it still stays solid red, you need to consider factory reset [silence] filtering that node. When you press the button now,
14:00
Speaker 1
It went, it was flashing purple to start with. Now it's flashing red. Okay, so how far away can I position that then? [dull thud] Okay. And is it then connecting with other mesh, nash, ones so it's passing the signal through? Is that what it's doing?
15:00
Speaker 2
is your calling now flashing or blinking purple, or did some changes, Perfect. So it's now flashing, it's now currently communicating, all that's left for you to do, is just wait for three to five minutes., and that's about it. The final outcome, it will turn solid blue, since your network is still functioning properly, as it should be. So it will turn solid blue. Once it's now added in a solid blue light, you can add it to where you want it to be. For example, the your original place you wanted in mind was in the kitchen, since it's now solid blue after adding it, you can relocate it there. Yes. So, if you have a closer node near, to it, [silence]
15:00
Speaker 1
Okay. Okay. Okay. yeah, all right, okay, I guess that that's as much as you can do, isn't it? Okay. This one's still flashing red. Yeah. Yes, it is. Yeah.
16:00
Speaker 2
You want to be fucking worse and you don't want it to rely on the parent node only? Yes, it will steer itself to the nearest node for you to have a long connection without any instability. Are you out? Let's just wait for this no to stop blinking. If it turns solid blue, just repeat the process for other nodes that may be causing you the issues as well. No worries there. And your parent node is still solid blue. Is that correct? Perfect.
16:00
Speaker 1
ah, it's not going blue. No, that's it, that's it. You've been very helpful. Thank you because I was getting a little bit frustrated and I really appreciate your help. Okay, thank you. Bye bye.
17:00
Speaker 2
Perfect. Let it sit there for one to two minutes before relocating it. That's about it. Is there anything else? Perfect. Thank you. All right. Thank you for calling Linksys. Take care and have a great day. If you do have any more problems, feel free to call us back. We'll be here to assist you. Thank you. Cheers.
