This is Linksys Technical Support calling. This call is recorded for quality assurance. Please hold as we connect you to a Linksys specialist. Hello, this is Eric from Linksys Customer Assurance team. May I speak with Scott King? Scott: Hi, Scott. Thank you for answering my call. And can you hear me okay, on the line? Scott: Yes. Scott: Thank you. And by the way, this call is recorded for quality assurance purposes. So, Scott, I'm here to do a follow up regarding the case that was escalated to our Level two department, regarding your Linksys mesh system model WHW03. And may we ask if is this the best time for us to discuss and troubleshoot your device concern? Scott: Yes, it is a great time. Scott: Thank you. So, I'll just need to double check the information. So, you have [silence] three nodes in total. Am I correct? Okay. Thank you. And you already had set up or configured the parent node and one of the two child nodes. But only one child node is left not connected. Okay. Thank you. And maybe I asked if these three nodes were working fine before. I see, I see. Thank you for the information. Let me just double check this information. Okay. So working fine for the two nodes. And you're adding one node right now as a new node to extend more signal or home network. Correct? Okay. So, did you-
00:00
Speaker 2
Correct. Correct. [silence] Yes. Correct. The third one that's not connecting is a new one that I just obtained. I just purchased it. [silence] Correct. Correct.
01:00
Speaker 1
Two original nodes were purchased as like, two pack. Correct? Thank you. So this new node, you just purchased this recently or a few days ago. Okay. appreciate the information. Okay? So if your original two nodes were working fine and it was reconfigured, okay, then that's a good sign. Good sign in the manner that you have a working
02:00
Speaker 2
Yes. Yes. Yes, yeah, it just arrived in the mail on Saturday. Silent mm-hmm. Okay.
02:00
Speaker 1
internet connection from your source which is I believe from Xfinity and you have a working parent node which is a mesh system. One node will work as the router and the other nodes will work as wireless repeaters or extenders. Okay, so we that part, then we will then focus on this one node that you just recently purchased. Okay, so the probable reasons why that node is not being added to your working system is it could either be a software issue on that node, or it might be a hardware issue on that node, or it might be a combination. So, what we need to do to resolve the issue is I'll first need to verify the settings of your original parent node, then I will then going to communicate only peer to peer manner on that problematic node. I need to make sure that the software is on the latest firewall. Okay? Because there might be A possibility that since you just purchased it, the firmware might be an old version, because it might be on the old stock, okay? So once we already upgraded that firmware on that node, then we're gonna perform reset on that node, or we can just add it directly to your working system. And if it's added, then it's good, but if it's not being added, then we'll perform reset on that node, okay? Then add it again. Then I'll also set your expectations. We are the level 2 department. And we have the authority to deem the device defective and we can then proceed with the replacement process. But before we proceed with the replacement, we need to make sure that we are able to properly document everything, okay? And I need your help for that. Okay. So, with the troubleshooting that we can do, we have actually two ways to do the troubleshooting. One, okay, we can either do it in a conventional way like, I will be going to provide you steps, you follow my lead so that we can do it together. Or, on our next troubleshooting process is, I can use our third party software, through it's not from links it's but it enable me to access your computer remotely, of course with your permission, in that way, it will be a lot easier and faster for us to be on the same page and do the proper work around. Okay, thank you. So, may I know what computer are we using? Is it a laptop, desktop computer? Okay. And is this desktop only capable to be connected wired or this desktop is a multi-function desktop like it can also connect wirelessly.
03:00
Speaker 2
That sounds like a good idea. It's a good desktop. It can do both wireless
05:00
Speaker 2
it's via Wi-Fi or it can be hardwired either way. Okay. Okay. [silence]
06:00
Speaker 1
Remote access is recorded because I'm only allowed to access your networking files. I'm not allowed to access your personal files then I will not do it without you on the phone. Okay? So we'll proceed. Thank you. So, may I ask for your computer right now? This desktop, I know other desktops are far from the parent node, but may I ask, is it possible for you to connect it via wired right now to the parent node? Or it's not? Okay. That's great. You are correct. Yes, because your parent node is already working. We're not going to touch their communication right now. Their link from the modem to the parent node. What we need to do here is, if this is a desktop computer.
07:00
Speaker 2
All right. Well, so, what do you want? So, right now there's a wire feeding from my cable modem to the parent. So, do you want the wire to go from the parents to the PC then? Oh, okay.
07:00
Speaker 1
We can connect it directly wired to the available LAN port of your parent node. And, uh, thank you. Okay, so with that computer, uh, we will now go to a website. Okay, open up our browser. Like, if you have a Google Chrome browser, that's go to join. the. Zoho.com. Uh, join. The. Okay, thank you. Join. Zoho.com. Okay. You may remove the Ethernet cable for now okay? Uh, just for us to double check. By the way, the LED indicator. Okay. Thank you. Okay. think to give to the customer or um oh, oh, oh,
08:00
Speaker 2
[silence] are you still there? [silence] all right. [silence] I'm at join remote support session under Zoho assist. yes.
10:00
Speaker 1
By the way, the LED indicator of your parent now, this lead solid blue, correct? Thank you. Okay. Wait for a few seconds. Let me just refresh my system. I am not able to. It's generating right now. Wait for a few seconds. Scott, is it OK with you if I'll just put you on hold? Let me just properly check my system here so that I can provide you the session ID, okay? Thank you. OK. Just stay on the line. I'll put you on hold for about 1, 2, 3 minutes. OK. [silence] Hello, Scott. Thank you for basically waiting. I appreciate the time that you've provided to me, so I now have the session ID and the session ID is 956 012 667.
11:00
Speaker 2
yeah, Yeah, yeah, well, hold on just a moment, just a moment, please, okay, nine, five, six, Uh- huh. Okay.
15:00
Speaker 1
then please enter your name and click on join. Then after you join, then please read the terms, then download the file, and after you download that file for our remote access, run it and grant me full access. So, while waiting, the parent node and the working child node are lit solid blue, and this problematic node is just lit solid red, something like that or flashing red. Solid red.
16:00
Speaker 2
installing it right now. [silence] yes, it's solid red.
16:00
Speaker 1
Okay, thank you for allowing me access. I'm now seeing your screen. Okay, so let me just check your connectivity before I proceed. I'll just check the wire connectivity, okay? [silence] Okay, I'll now check the wireless connection. Okay, since I already got the proper IP addressing here, let me now access the setup page of your router. You already know why you're getting this message on your browser, correct? Scott. Okay.
17:00
Speaker 2
I don't know why I'm getting that. I got that before when we tried to go through to my local router and she said me click on advanced and go in. I'm not sure why it's getting,
19:00
Speaker 1
just to provide you, okay. The reason why you're getting this one is your computer is protecting you actually, okay? Because your computer has its browser and it's updated, okay? It's actually protecting you not to go to a scam website, okay? But our router is not a website, okay? As you can see, the IP address, this is actually the IP of your router for us to access the setup page, okay? So, that's the reason why you're getting that error. But you don't need to worry because you know that you're accessing the router, not a scam website, okay? So, let's proceed. May I ask for your help to type in your local router password that you created before because the default is admin unless you created one. [silence]
20:00
Speaker 2
good there you go Okay. Okay. Okay.
20:00
Speaker 1
It's case case sensitive, make sure you, uh, that's the default. Either admin, admin or either the default Wi-Fi that's showing up on your parent node on the sticker. That's the one that you need to follow.
21:00
Speaker 2
Oh, it didn't take that. Let me just use admin. Oh, I should use the one for the Wi-Fi system that we set up. Oh, okay. Okay.
21:00
Speaker 1
And you don't need to worry, Kay. if uh it's still not working, we can just reset the password. And just to set your expectations, the reset password is not going to change the wireless settings that you have set up before. It's just the accessing of the web page only. But you may try, just it's case sensitive. Uh, yeah, for security purposes.
22:00
Speaker 2
Okay. I don't have a way of seeing what I'm typing to know if I've got oh, I don't have that. I don't have the caps lock on.
22:00
Speaker 1
uh huh how about the admin when you type the admin was it all lower case a D M I N could we try okay thank you okay so I appreciate your help okay so oh I see so let me double check so your parent node the one that you purchased in two pack well they're black nodes right and the one that you just recently purchased is a white note okay well since uh these black nodes are working fine we're not going to touch it okay we're just going to proceed with so white note okay
23:00
Speaker 2
Yeah. In a way it's not taking that. That's the password off the parent router. There, there's admin. It's going in now. Oh, cool. Oh, no problem. Correct. Correct. Mm-Hmm. Okay. [silence]
23:00
Speaker 1
You may take note of your password as admin, but for security purposes, we may change your router password to the one that you want it later on, okay? So, just add the child notes first. Okay, so let me just double check the settings. [silence]
24:00
Speaker 2
All right. Mhm. Yeah. The truth is the same as the wrong. Yeah.
24:00
Speaker 1
([silence])
25:00
Speaker 2
okay that's what it says on the screen okay, then I'm supposed to look on the sticker or just to confirm that's what it says on the screen?
25:00
Speaker 1
yeah 7 1 1 1 1 8 8 please confirm uh-thank you thank you for confirming may I also check what's the serial number of your node that we're gonna add which is the problematic no the white node We can look underneath the device. Thank you. Yes. Correct me if I'm wrong? That's 2 0 J for Juliet, 1 0 C for Charlie, 6 2 7 9 8 7 9 7. Thank you. And based on the documentation, your other black child node is that the one ending 1 1 2 1 1?
26:00
Speaker 2
Sure. Are you ready? It is 2 0 J 1 0 C 6 2 7 9 8 7 9 7 yeah 1 0 . Bye.
27:00
Speaker 1
Thank you. Thank you for confirming, OK. [silence]
28:00
Speaker 2
Just a moment. Let me, let me go double check just to make sure. Just a moment. Yes, that's correct.
28:00
Speaker 1
I'm now going to communicate to your child node if it's properly reset. Okay, because of that white child node, it has actually it's default SSID. Okay, so, the default SSID of your of your white child node, it's actually showing us _develop setup950. Please confirm. [silence] Thank you. [silence] So, I'll be communicating to it later on and since I'm wired I will not be disconnected. Okay? [silence] So, let me proceed. [silence] Let me just check the other information. Okay, So just to double check, so your Nintendo has two LAN ports, one is the internet port within it's tagged as 1 gigabite, which is connected to your modem and there's port one, which is connected to your computer. How it's showing up here, so let me proceed now. Okay, so this is the default SSID right now. Let me connect to it, okay? May I double-check this child node, right now. Is it connected wired to this system or not? It's just standalone, right? Not. Okay, thank you. I'm seeing it's uh has a different IP. Uh the reason why it has a different IP earlier was when you connect this modem to the apparent node, if the text that it's the same IP address, it'll then automatically change to something else, then that's something, that's a reasonable. This is the IP, but later on, No, no worries. Okay. But what's important is we have a good sign because this note is able to let your computer connect to it wirelessly and it provides an IP address. Okay. We have a good sign. That's what I mentioned to you earlier. Uh it might have an old uh firmware that I need to update. Okay? So, let me just take that app.
29:00
Speaker 2
Uh, well, earlier, earlier she had me disconnect the ethernet cord from my PC and plug it into this child node that's not working. Some of that might be part of the reason why. [silence]
33:00
Speaker 1
I'll open up a new tab to access this set of pages. Note, okay? Wait for a few seconds. I'm opening up your command prompt. So, this is your Wired IP address of your parent node, 192.168.1.0. work, while your adapter is connected to that node, with this network, 10.139.1.1. Now, let me ping that. [silence] It's responding. Okay, so let me go back. aside from Edge, do you have other browser like a Chrome because it's Edge here so let me Che if you have Chrome. Okay. [silence] Okey dokey, we don't have. It's okay. Uh let me just try other ways. Okay. Okay, this is what I'll plan to do. Okay? So we will reset your this particular child node. Okay? And since the IP address of the computer that I'm using and the default node is the same, I might be routed back to your parent node. Okay? [silence] to reset it first.
34:00
Speaker 2
the pressing the red button underneath. Okay. yes Correct.
39:00
Speaker 1
and continue pressing until you will see a blue head and once you see the blue head show up, release the reset button. That's how we will reset it. Okay, so once you're ready, please proceed. Okay. Uh, that's how it will show up. It should show bright red then it will change to flashing red in fading color. And just continue until you see a blue LED then release. Okay, release. Thank you. So we'll then just wait for that node to fully reboot then we'll try to communicate again, okay?
40:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Okay. It's interesting, when I press the button before the solid color was more of a pink, now it's a red. I don't know if that, I just thought that was interesting. I thought that was interesting. Okay. Okay. That's solid blue. All right.
40:00
Speaker 1
[silence] and it will then show up, okay? So let me know if its led indicator is now lit solid purple or solid pink or solid red. Okay. We'll just wait for it. it's rebooting. The node will reboot in approximately about [silence] One to two minutes later, you should know. solid red, okay. Or purple, something like that. Okay? Actually, it happens. It happens either solid purple, solid pink, or dark pink, or red. What's important is if that node broadcast is default SSID, then that's a good sign. Okay? [silence]
41:00
Speaker 2
now. it's solid red. we're. pink. yeah. yeah. Pete or rat.
42:00
Speaker 1
[silence] Okay, it's now changed to its default. Okay. So, let me check. but I'll just uh close this window okay because uh it is ready opened and I'll be routed to this page later on so whichever comes first but I believe it should be routed to your parent node still okay but we'll just try just type admin all over case signing in okay so that's expected [silence] I'm routed to your main router, okay which is the black node. So in order for me to isolate that node that I'll be able to access it, so I'll be forcing it to change its its router password. So let me instead connect this PC wirelessly and I'll wire this computer to that node instead, okay. So wait for a few seconds. So I believe this is your main network, right? Based on this one, nature five. Thank you. connecting now. Wait for a few seconds. Uh don't remove the cable yet. I'll just need to make sure that I'm connected. Mm-hmm.
43:00
Speaker 2
sure okay black it's black it's black as well so you want me to disconnect it from the computer end correct
47:00
Speaker 1
From the node itself, like, your computer is now connected to the parent from the node, okay? Because. Okay. Okay, thank you. So, that port is now open. Okay? So, I'm just asking. Yes. Okay, I'm just asking. Do we have an extra Internet cable aside from this? Mm-hmm. Just asking. Okay, that's great, okay? Because this is what we need to do. I'll trigger this node to.
48:00
Speaker 2
oh, from the node. Okay. Okay. All right. Okay. I just connected the one. So, one end is disconnected that was going to the PC from the parent node. On the parent node. correct. Do I have an extra one? So, your question is, yes, I do.
48:00
Speaker 1
change its IP by connecting it directly wired to the parent node. So it will then create a new IP, starting with 10, okay? Random, okay? Then, what we need to do then is, I'm going to communicate to this node wirelessly first. If I'm going to communicate, then that's where that I'm going to proceed, okay? so that at least it's just the parent node to the child node and me communicating to the child node directly wired to it, okay? So that at least we are consistent, okay? But before that, I can see that it's already disconnected, as you can see here, okay? And I'm still connected. So, right now, this is the IP address that we're getting from the child node from this parent node, okay? Then Later on, I'll be communicating to it wired, but before that, could we double check what's the extra cable that you have right now? Blue, very good, since it's a different cable. So using the blue cable, connect one end to the parent node, and connect the other end on that child node on the port that is closest to the reset button. Thank you. Then, once you already have connected that then our The next step here is I'll be communicating wired to it. Okay. Wait for a few seconds. So using the other black cable that's still connected to your PC, we will then connect it to the white node. Thank you. You are correct. Thank you. Thank you.
49:00
Speaker 2
sure. okay, so the blue node is in the spot closest to the reset button. The one, the other one going to the second port on the white node, correct? all right, they're both plugged in. [silence]
51:00
Speaker 1
change in its IP, but it's now on 215. Okay? Not 139 anymore, because it's just dynamic. [silence] I'm trying to communicate to this node for it to be updated via the URL. We'll perform like a router recovery for this node, okay? Because I believe it's not like responding to the web access. Okay, so the recovery is the one that we can actually force this node to locate its other fairware on the different protocols. But, please use the older firmware. Okay? Once we've forced that, then we may be able to access the web interface. But before that, let us instead remove all the cables first from that node. So it's just like a standalone. Remove the blue cable from that problematic child node. And remove as well the black cable from that node. Okay? Thank you. So, please go ahead with the recovery procedure. This time, we will be performing, turning off the node and turning it back on. Okay? The process of unplugging it and replugging it is one step. So, we're performing the unplugging or turning off the node and turning it back on.
52:00
Speaker 2
[silence] They're both removed. Mm-hmm. OK. OK. OK. Yeah. You know.
58:00
Speaker 1
Okay. So, don't not try it yet to the actual. Okay? So, just have a role play. So, uh, when I say start, you start, then I'll say, this is how you do it. Unplug, 1, 2, re-plug, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So, that's how you do it. But you are going to unplug and re-plug it from the power port. I know it's not easy, but since there's no cables there, so, you have like an easier access. So, all you need to do is just unplug the power cord from the power port. Once you unplug, 2 seconds counting. Once you re-plug, 5 seconds counting. Okay? So, are you ready for a role play, Scott? Okay. Only 2 out of 5. Okay. Thank you. So, once you're ready, proceed.
60:00
Speaker 1
you got it all correctly. Thank you. So, uh, the, the interval is about per second, okay? you got it correctly. So we'll just continue that and wait for me to interrupt you because when I say stop, don't unplug anymore, okay? So, we're now going to, we're now going to try it on the actual node. Okay? So on the actual node, once you're ready, start to unplug. Got it. So start unplugging until I say stop. Stop. Okay?
61:00
Speaker 2
three, four, five, two.
61:00
Speaker 1
Stop. Stop. Thank you, Scott. You- you did it. Yes. Thank you. So, don't unplug anymore. Thank you. Okay, so Okay. So, Scott, I really appreciate your help, okay? Because uh this recovery, it requires proper timing. And thank you for your participation. Okay? So, what I'm doing here right now is I'm going to prove if this node is strictly communicating or not. Okay?Because we have the proper resources here. Yeah, but we're king.
62:00
Speaker 2
Five unplug. One, two plug. One, two, 3, 4, 5 unplug. One, two plug. One, two, 3, 4, 5 unplug. One, two plug. One, two [silence] [silence] I stop. I hope [silence]
62:00
Speaker 1
node and you have a working internet cable. because i can see it on the computer, it's detected and it's able to get the right IP. it just so happens that this node is not accessible on its web interface. Okay. So it might be on that software. So the reason why we did the recovery is we're going to use the older firmware and we hope that after it's rebooted within 4 to 5 minutes, then the node will then be accessible. So once it's accessible, we'll add it using that old firmware first and once it's successfully added, then that's a time that we will manually update the firmware of that node. Okay? So in the meantime, my time here is since you're in central time, so that's 8:49 PM here. So we'll do update by 8:54. Okay? So that's five minutes. I'll waiting for that one.
63:00
Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. Right. Alright. Sure. Thank you. Uhm. I'm not sure about the system. I've been doing like the final test. He thinks it's got like really old firmware in it that's not allowing it. Yeah. I don't know what the deal was with the other one. It took her like almost two hours. It's like an hour and a half or more. This guy is nuts. He called study. He told me he'd call back within two to three hours and he called back within like 30 minutes and uh uh. I haven't had a chance. I was trying to hook things up to the Wi-Fi. For some reason my disk hasn't been wanting to connect. I don't know why. What about, about. He's on hold to see if something got on the mail. It's all about it. Oh. [silence]
64:00
Speaker 1
Hello Scott. Thank you so much for patiently waiting. I apologize for the long wait, but I was not able to get a supervisor yet. But don't worry. We'll just proceed, okay? So once after this, then I can look for another supervisor. But hoping for an optimistic approach. Okay. So right now, if the node has already rebooted, Okay. What's the little indicator right now? Okay. So I'll try to communicate on that node again. Could we reconnect the black cable back to, not, only on this node, Okay? Remember that the black the blue cable should be connected to the port that is closest to the red button. But we will not connect it yet. Okay. We'll just do this one offline. Okay. So using the black cable from your computer, connect it back to the other port of that node. The one that's far from the button.
69:00
Speaker 2
All right. Huh. It is solid red. Okay. All right. it's
70:00
Speaker 1
We have a good sign right now. So I'll just click on this window. Thank you, by the way, for performing the recovery procedure. I appreciate that, okay? It will take time, okay? So we'll be routed. arramin as the default. so? [silence] wait for few seconds okay. you have like a five-character, a five-number combination there on that white line. that's the recovery key. [silence] man? what's the recovery key?
72:00
Speaker 2
Sure. Yes. The recovery key. Yeah. No problem. You disappeared. I don't know what happened. I'll call you back. I thought G said calling would cost more if I was overseas, so I thought the text message was better.
73:00
Speaker 1
Thank you. I'll just put like a default password here, okay? So I'll just put here Linksys, Valor 1" Exclamation, okay? Just like this one, okay? [silence]
74:00
Speaker 2
27690 [silence] sure
74:00
Speaker 1
So it's only the port one that's being used right now. okay.
75:00
Speaker 2
You come out on the node. It's, yeah. Right, it's the one farthest away from the reset button.
76:00
Speaker 1
we have two versions uh yours is uh based on the serial number this is version one okay because version two starts with two so it's 122 megabytes of file so we'll download this Yes, did I. download it already let me click again clicking out there.
77:00
Speaker 2
Yes. That's version one, right? There it goes.
77:00
Speaker 1
let's skip it, OK? I'm just checking the file size if it's correct, OK, correct. Because if it's corrupted, it's not even reaching like 1/4 of the file, OK? So this is correct. I'm going to access your parent node. I'll try first to added as a child node, OK? [silence]
78:00
Speaker 1
see this Ferme. This is not the... The latest Ferme? okay? the latest Ferme is the one that is shown on your parent node. this one. we just have to be consistent but that's what we agreed earlier. we're going to use the old Ferme first. and once it's already successfully added, that's the time that we will going to upgrade it, okay? but this is your parent note 216. okay? 893. the one that's on your problematic child node is now 209. so we'll upgrade this one to 216 later on. okay? but in the meantime, let us I'll just generate the SINFRA log of this problematic node, okay? And we already changed its password as LinkSys develop number one.SilenceSilence [silence] There were just a lot of note pads that were open. Okay. So, I'll face it here. [silence] Okay, I'm saving it as your name, then the problem child, then this is the last five digits of its serial number, then June 22. I did not verify by the way, where did we save that file? Was it on your downloads folder? Okay, thank you. thought I decided to upgrade this firmware ahead that it will be a lot easier for for us to add it, okay. So this is the file that we're going to upload to this node. Just going to double check our ping test. So far so good. So I'll start to upgrade and we'll reaccess this page and hope that the firmware will be on the latest firmware, okay? Ooh. Yeah. This is a good sign, it's now reconnected, but we'll just wait, okay, because the rebooting process will take one to ten minutes. Okay. Okay. It's now the latest one, server's successful. Okay. So the next step here is we're now going to add this node. Okay. But before that, uh I will not proceed in resetting this node here, because it happened to me before, that if I'll click on reset, I know that we're accessing only this node and resetting, but it there might be a chance that I'll be resetting instead your your main node, okay? So, I don't want to do that, okay? Because it will be a haywire. So, I'll be asking for you up instead to uh let's press [silence]
79:00
Speaker 2
Good [silence] Sure.

perform the reset on this node okay So because the IP address is not on the same range okay So may I ask for help to perform the reset on this node you can press and hold the reset button and let's wait for it to have like when you see a blue LED then release the reset button okay you remove by the way the Ethernet cable so that you have a proper access I apologize for that remove the Ethernet cable Thank you next to parents no yes
90:00
Speaker 2
Mm-hmm. Absolutely. Okay, I can do it now. Remove, okay, now it's unplugged. Now, do the reset or wait.
90:00
Speaker 1
Now, press and hold that reset button. And when you see a blue LED, release the reset button. Okay, release. then we'll wait for that node to lit solid pink or purple, or red. Then the next part is we're going to add it as a child node. I'm preparing your parent node now to add that node. Okay. So we're going to click on add wireless child node later on. [silence] what solid indicator of the node right now is it now back to solid okay so I will be clicking add wireless child node but before that how close or how far is this white node from the parent node okay okay so technically speaking okay it should be uh within like [silence]
91:00
Speaker 2
It's solid red. Yeah. Uh, it's legs, five inches away.
93:00
Speaker 1
Within that five feet, okay? But it's okay. So we'll now proceed in adding the note, okay? I'll now click on add wireless child node. And this parent node will be looking for any nodes that are not yet configured. Then once it finds it, it will then configure it, okay? It will then start to flash. Okay, that's good. Thank you. So that's a good sign as well. Welcome to the show. [silence] This may take about 3 to 5 minutes because rebooting is part of that.
94:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Yep, okay. The parent one flashed and turned back to blue and now the child one is flashing.
94:00
Speaker 1
1 to 2 minutes of rebooting and the synchronization of the settings 1 to 3 minutes. An average of 3 to 5 minutes. ment something here, Scott? Let me know if- what's the state of the child- after three to five minutes, okay? Okay, that's good. I'll generate this info log on your parent node. Okay? Wait for a few seconds. It's okay. It's not yet five minutes. Okay? But it, Yeah. For the parent node, it's just a default admin. Just waiting for it to finish loading.
95:00
Speaker 2
The child note is now blue. Oh, it's red again. loading loading
97:00
Speaker 1
I believe the nodes are now added. See this one, the parent node, it's 1.1. One of the child node is having an RSSI of negative 54 and the other one is negative 10 because you're very close, okay? That's five inches. The RSSI is received signal strength. We have here like a range from 0 dBm if you're wired, the node to the parent node. And the farthest is negative 100. we're in that is the total wireless disconnection. Okay? But with this kind of RSI, you're in excellent. Okay? So I believe uh can we double check now if the what you call this, the led light on that child now is solid blue. Can you confirm? Okay. Then Okay. Okay. Okay. So our final step, of course, is to relocate that node to its final position. And uh rule of thumb, okay? Uh it's not that you can just freely at will put the child node. It should be on a place that it can still receive the signal from the source. Okay? Like for example, if it's a star topology, like the parent node is the center, so make sure that the the child nodes are equidistant from the parent node. Okay? But if it's like in a series or
98:00
Speaker 2
uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh yes it is uh-huh yeah it just went solid blue
99:00
Speaker 1
Deasy chain, then make sure that this node is still not too far from the first child node so that the first child node will be the source for it to connect uh that second child node. But you're topology uh is it like a one story house two story house? So technically speaking that's similar like uh two or three story house something like that? okay, thank you so I'll just put here three story okay so so technically speaking uh we're gonna relocate the child node now okay. because we're successful in adding it. So let us now turn off the child node, the white node, I mean. Then relocate it to where you want it to be placed. M. Hm. M. Actually, once the parent node has added it, then its time zone will be the same. Let me check. So let me just, I'll just click on done adding child nodes. Wait for a few seconds. You're in central, right? So your parent node should be on central. Okay. But anyway, thank you for letting me access this.
100:00
Speaker 2
Can I ask a question quickly? On the child node, when you had it pulled up through the site, I noticed that the time zone was off on it. It said like Pacific or Mountain or something instead of Central. Is that something that could be changed easily? There it is.
101:00
Speaker 1
Okay, so you can create your own password here. [silence] [silence] Okay, I'll type admin again. [silence] The purpose why I'm like changing it to something else, for security purposes, because we have like issue before, like hackers are taking advantage of the default admin password. [silence] We're not going to leave it that way. Okay? So, you can write it first on a piece of paper as your guide before you create something here. Okay? [silence] And this is case sensitive. [silence]
102:00
Speaker 2
uh sure uh
102:00
Speaker 1
by the the hint is just like an option okay but it also helps like for example uh I had my own router at home uh since it's about my my family okay that just put here family but it's really not important okay so you already have created that password so I'll now apply okay okay you're done okay so let me now apply anyway if it doesn't work then we can just use the reset password link the five character key so since it's now like uh change I'll just need to double check if that works okay.
103:00
Speaker 2
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
103:00
Speaker 1
Sure, sure. Can you type your new router password? Hmm. Okay, since that's the new router password now, so we're done with it. So just like copy it in a piece of paper. That's your router administrator password, okay? Because the wireless password is different. Okay. So, uh, so so I have here your child node. Mhm, yep.
104:00
Speaker 2
Sure. I have one other question too, when you have a moment. Let me type it. I the other, the other question, whatever. Sure. Okay. The other question I had
104:00
Speaker 1
Uh. Uh. Okay. So, uh, I appreciate that. Okay. So, if you're going on back to your Wi-Fi settings, okay? By default, okay? It's actually set on one name, okay? Like, whatever you have, like nature, okay? So, the advantage of one name is you only need to have one name that you can just look for and connect, okay? But the important part is even if you change it to different name, this is the most important part. Your Wi-Fi password is the same. Okay? So, separating this
105:00
Speaker 2
uh-huh. Celebrate. uh-huh. uh-huh. uh-huh. uh-huh. uh-huh. uh-huh.
105:00
Speaker 1
Yes, you're correct. Thank you. Then if I may continue. so the reason why you have the separate so that you have full control anyway because if you have like uh connected your device and if your device is stationary, okay, you don't need to like roam around, okay, communicate because the child nodes and the parent node are sharing the same SID. If you separate them on the parent node, then those child nodes should have also separate SIDs for 2.45. Okay, so this is the wired connection and this is the one that you need to understand the link speed. Okay, since it's wired, the link speed here or local connection from your adapter to the router's port is 1 gigabit per second. It's full duplex. Okay, then if you have wireless wireless is half duplex. Okay, what is the difference? The difference between dreamless [silence]
107:00
Speaker 2
Connect the. PC. to. the. parent. node,. right?. Ah. okay.. [silence]. Ah. [silence].
107:00
Speaker 1
complex, it depends on the bandwidth that you're getting from the node and it will change depending on how far you are and how many walls in between, okay? so since your router is an AC, okay? it's two by two special stream per AC special trim, 433.33 since you have two by two, that's the reason it's multiplied into two but whatever is your link speed, wireless is half duplexed, so if you want to if you for example, you subscribe like one gps on your internet speed, you'll only be getting half of this plus minus, so you'll be getting about 400 to 500 plus only, okay? so this is for the 5 thousand Hertz, so I'll try to connect you to the four to the 2.4 Herz. Let's see what's the difference with the link speed, okay? So I'll look for that 2.5 bit,
108:00
Speaker 2
Mhm. Mhm. Uh, mhm. Yeah.
109:00
Speaker 1
Okay, check the status. So you're now connected to nature 2.4. Look at the link speed. It's 144. So, the reason why you have this separated so that you have full control, because if you have the name is the same, chances are you have the same net SSID and same password. So you may be connected to the 5G right now because you're close with the vicinity of your node, but if you move farther, you may be connected to the 2.4 because that's the fallback. Okay? But if you're connected to the 5 G, even though you're far, the 5 G will still have a much higher bandwidth, even though you have like long uh minimal signal strength here because that's the advantage of the 5 G. The link speed is higher. Okay? So, you may encounter, for example, you're doing gaming, and then
110:00
Speaker 2
Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. [silence] Okay. Sure. [silence] Okay. Mhm. Yeah. at the door bill. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. OKI have not. I've been sitting at the computer this whole time. Let me do that now. Just a moment. [silence] Okay, I have it where I want to have it. It's plugged in and in place.
110:00
Speaker 1
[silence] I apologize. I was talking and mute, Scott. Apologize for that. Okay. Okay. So uh, okay, thank you.
115:00
Speaker 2
Hello. Oh, that's okay. Oh, no problem. No problem. I got it plugged in and it's re-syncing in its new location.
115:00
Speaker 1
So as what I was trying to say earlier but it was on mute. So we'll just wait for that node to to reconnect. Same time frame, three to five minutes. And if this node was placed in a very far location, you will be able to see the LED, okay? If it lit solid yellow, it means that it's placed very far from the source. Okay? So what we need to do is we may need to reboot that node so that it can properly connect to the closer note, okay? Or we may need to check on that location, like turn up the node. Use your phone or laptop as a signal meter device because when you try to view wireless networks, if you're seeing only the source of the signal at one bar or intermittent, then your node placed in that location will also have this similar behavior. Hey, I can act like your laptop. but when I check the communication, it's like not stable, it's very slow, but when I check the nodes, it's placement, they're just placed very close with each other. and I check the R-RSSI, the R-RSSI is the negative 20 plus, then I decided to remove one node and that resolved the issue. Okay? So, not too close. Because it's also defeats the purpose of extending the signal if you have more nodes that are close with each other. I mean, too close with each other. So, let me know if it's... okay. Since it's solid blue, let me just generate another system log for me to know its actual behavior. Okay? Technically speaking, by the way Scott we're done. We're just making sure that everything is properly, uh,
116:00
Speaker 2
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay. So right now, this one is solid blue. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh. Okay. Okay.
118:00
Speaker 1
connected okay? So, let me generate this info log here. It was negative ten earlier rs, I Let me refresh okay? So, I believe since you changed the the password for your parent node, it will now be the new password you're going to type. Uh, admin only. Yeah. oh, sorry. I type it. Sorry, it's admin admin there. That's the other add. Sorry, okay. You'll be asked to erase. You can erase the other admin. Okay? [silence]
119:00
Speaker 2
Oh, what is the username? Is that admin? Oh, sorry.
119:00
Speaker 1
Thank you. So we'll just wait for it to finish generating. Okay. I am now searching for backlog report. Control F. Backlog report. Okay. So this is the node that you need to check. You see this STA. Okay. This AP, this was like a captured, like how it's broadcasting, okay? The one that you need to understand is the STA. Because if you are connected to an access point, the access point is AP and the client device are connected to the access point. If it is successfully connected, it is term as a station. Okay. That's the reason for STA. so with this this is a good communication and actually an excellent communication in the note. Okay. So I just want to let you know that thank you for your. patience and corporation with me. Okay. Because I know we did a lot of steps. It's a teamwork process without you connecting the devices. Okay. And that letting me access your computer, then we may have a hard time going to the next step. Thank you. Okay. Nice teamwork. So, so Scott, uh, would there be anything else outside of my main concern? Okay, so let me just formal. and the session on your computer, okay? So that it will be proper for you. Okay. just close stem. Wait for a few seconds.
120:00
Speaker 2
Good. Oh, thank you, you've been very helpful. All right. No, I think that's it. Sure.
121:00
Speaker 1
Ending the session. Ending it right now. Please confirm if I already ended the session on your computer. Okay. So, that session ID is just one time. It will not be reused. And the one that I downloaded, you downloaded on your computer, you can also delete that, okay? Because anyway, if you have another session ID, you need to download another uh file for that because per session is one file. So, you can now remove that. So, would there be anything else uh Scott, that I can assist you with? Okay. Actually, thank you as well for being our loyal customer. Thank you for buying our service products, okay? So, my name again is Eric, your level technician, and you can also visit our website, which is support.services.com. Have a great day, Scott. And good for now. Bye-bye. [silence]
122:00
Speaker 2
yeah mm-hmm mm-hmm really no thank you very much for helping me get this corrected all right goodbye
122:00
